    Hi Jack , great video. I just ordered a 3500 but it seems the 2500 would have been plenty. As the bodies are the same size , can you just buy a smaller 2500 spool and get two got the price of one ?

      Good on ya for the legit review. I have a ton of spinfishers some are just over 20 years old and one of things all of them have in common is that rash. I baby my gear as far as not letting them touch the ground and making sure there cased but I couldn't stop it lol.

    How do you feel about the rod that comes with the penn spinfisher VI combo? Do you use it? Or do you just the reel and upgrade the rod?
    Figuring out if I should just get penn reels and upgrade the rods to other brands has been a dilemma for me because I’ve heard negative things about penn rods but haven’t had bad experiences yet myself.

    would you recommend this reel or a different model (same series) for multipurpose fishing for multiple species, including freshwater fishing? Or is it better suited for saltwater only?

      In my opinion i think that you dont need so much water tightness in a reel you need light for sure so i think this reel is not the best choise for fishing in fresh water, but it does the job

    • @jaytalent45
      @jaytalent45 4 роки тому +2

      Salvador Miralla they made them the same with the vi if u want more drag then the slammer is the way but it’s better for offshore inshore the slammer is way too heavy

    • @rustyshacklfur2637
      @rustyshacklfur2637 4 роки тому +1

      The VI is so close to being a slammer. The Vi is considerably lighter and for the money the Vi is the way to go for 9 of 10 anglers. The biggest advantage to the slammer is the brass gear which will last longer but the zinc gears of today are pretty good. The Vi 6500 and up have brass gears so take that into account. Im in the northeast and I fish inshore so the singles drag stack is fine for most fish. I think jack nailed it, if you want a smaller reel for lead heads and crystal minnows the smaller Vis are the way to go but if you want to go bigger the slammer is the way to go. I really like the power handle on the slammer 3 I put my slammer handle on my Vi when im not using the slammer.

    Hi there i just want to say that i have some issues with this reel because ive got one myself and after many many hours fishing in rough salt water conditions my rotor got stucked i left the reel im my tackle shop and rhey have to change the rotor hidrophobic membrane , the said due to the lot amount of grease this penn reels got from fabric damage the membrane because of mixture between the grease and the salt i change that the guys assmbled the reel again with new spare parts but i feel that the reel is lost a lot of smoothness by turning the handle they said if i keep fishing with the reel it gets more and more smooth but ive got my doubts now. I am a lit disapointed with this issue and i hope that problem doesnt exist in the slammer iv 2500 maube i will upgrade to that reel i dont know but im sorry but ive got to say, for fushing in heavy rougj salt water conditions, dont buy this reel
