jose menendez could not get a single character witness statement because he was such a horrible man. his coworkers interviewed even claimed they were not surprised because he was so volatile that he had bad blood with nearly everyone around him. in comparison, the brothers had 50 depositions in defense of them. there were plenty of witnesses to all forms of abuse they had to endure. their father was banned from even going to their tennis practice because he was so physically abusive and cruel to his sons and fought the coach. all cousins testified they saw strange behavior and the brothers told them about the sexual abuse when they were 8 for lyle and 12 for erik. last year, there were new allegations of him sexually abusing roy rosello when he was 14 fears old in the menendez home after being invited for dinner. and his case is under active investigation and there’s potentially a case for child trafficking based on statements provided. like come on…
There were no witnesses to SA. Erik even stated that in the second trial, and the transcripts are public record. Jose may very well have been an awful man, but that alone does not make him guilty of afflicting SA on his sons.
