    Pigs in Blankets for 12 LARGE ones
    12 Sausages
    12 Streaky Bacon
    Pigs in Blankets Puff Pastry Festive Bakes x6
    6 Sausages
    6 Streaky Bacon
    100g homemade Cranberry Sauce
    1 pack of Puff Pastry
    1 egg (for eggwash)
    57g Camembert
    if AF not a DUAL blaze, I recommend lining basket with parchment paper (sprinkle with a little flour to stop sticking) the DUAL blaze did not need flipping due to the bottom element cooking the bottoms (crisper plates were in the basket)
    BAKE @ 200c/390f 15mins, flip if needed for further 5/10 mins
    to REHEAT from FROZEN pop in AF (upside down) on AIRFRY 200c/390f for 10-15 mins, check TEMP and add mins if needed. (I tried REHEAT but too slow)

    Kerry, thats exactly how I've been doing Pigs in Blankets for a few years now. The Lidl chipolata's and streaky bacon are an outstanding combo. Far better than anything pre-made. Love your channel. Keep up the good work. These pastries have to be called Pigs in Sleeping Bags! They look amazing!

    I was WOW just reading the description now must get down to watching video I have a suggestion but as I keep saying I'm not a cook but sometimes I get ideas but don't know if they'll work, now I'm sure You've either made in the past or know how to make a sausage meat plait, well how about resizing one to fit the biggest airfryer drawer You've got and...replace the pork with mincemeat so instead of a dinky solo mince pie you can serve a slice hot with cream ice cream or custard experiment time 🎉 atb Bill

    Kerry, if you run the back of a large knife along the length of the streaky bacon rasher, you can stretch it to nearly double the length. You can then cut each slice into two, then only needing half the number of slices per chipolata!

    • @marygarnham764
      @marygarnham764 Рік тому +2

      I’m so glad you suggested this Vivienne.
      I heard this tip many years ago and I always do it. Even when I’m frying streaky rashes I stretch them and cut them in half. The price of streaky bacon has gone skyhigh. It’s ridiculous it used to be the cheapest. But you all know that of course. Kind regards MG

    Hi ...
    I made 15 of your 'Pigs in Blankets' - (with Bells on). I used 'Pork & Leek' sausages and Cranberry.
    My Wife and our neighbours said exactly the same thing, on seeing the size of them,
    "They're NOT in 'Blankets' ... more like in 'Duvets' !" 😂
    I also tried some with 'Plum / Port' chutney, and others with a Parmesan Cheese just for a change. Mmmm 😋👍
    Cheers to You & the Family.

    Well they look rather tasty! I hope you didn't burn your mouth on the taste test.
    I used parchment paper in my air fryer when making scones. I used a hole punch on the paper to allow the air to circulate. It certainly stopped the scones sticking, and prevented the trivet leaving an imprint on the scone base. I did find I needed to turn them though so the base was fully cooked.
    I NEED to try these festive bakes, especially since making cranberry and orange sauce this morning 😋😋😋

    I always buy skinless sausages and streaky bacon and I cut each in half and make lots of small pigs in blankets and freeze ahead of time also stuffing balls, I also do my sausage rolls and mince pies, bake them and freeze then defrost and reheat as required over Christmas. I have done the roast parsnips which I love and had some with my Sunday dinner but the rest are for Christmas and it’s great because, as I’m the only one that eats them, it’s a doddle to just throw some in the air fryer for a few minutes just before dishing up, thank you for that idea. These look great and a good way of using up cheeses from Christmas as I’m sure you could use any cheese, definitely be giving them a try. ❤❤

    • @budgetcookinguk
      @budgetcookinguk  Рік тому +1

      I'm the only one who loves roasted parsnips in my family too, think I'll do another massive batch to do what you do, just chuck a few in the AF for just me. Genius Jane. Such a good idea for general roasts, not just 4 xmas😀👍💕

    Hi Kerry. When I cook pastries in my dual blaze I always brush the crisper plate with a light coating of cooking oil before putting them in , never seem to get any problems with sticking then. Like your videos please keep them coming. Happy Christmas to you and your family. Brian.

    Evening Kerry, loving those butterfly can cutouts. Ohhhh I love pigs in blankets and saw someone making stuffing filled sausage pigs in blankets today and I'm definitely going to try making those. I was thinking you were calling them with bells on because you were using "Bells" Puff pastry 😂😂🤦‍♀️. I've never made my own pigs in blankets but always made them for the Christmas dinner in my work for 90 kids and also staff 🤣🤣. What a shame with the ninja ones, I don't tend to use parchment but I use my shelf one, don't tends to make sausage rolls in any of the other air fryers. It's all trial and error, that's the first time you've made them. I will definitely be trying these but doing the stuffing filled sausages. Have a great evening xxxx Jac 💚♥️

      @budgetcookinguk  Рік тому

      Haha if you used to make 100s of pigs n blankets Jacs, no wonder you didn't make more at home🤪 the little cut outs are so cute, so nice of Ally to send them. Brian below said he brushes his crisper plates with a little oil, I'll try that next time. Boys didn't complain, they were gone in 60 seconds😄👍💕you too! Xxx

    Stewart

    • @budgetcookinguk
      @budgetcookinguk  Рік тому

      Thanks so much Stewart, that's really nice of you😀👍💕 its difficult to say costwise as our bills (like everyone elses) are astronomical even with savings on usage. What I do know for sure, is the ninja and any AF really, is incredibly quick compared to ovens. So if it used to take 2 hours + to keep a large cubic space hot to cook a roast, an AF does the same in less than half the time (1 hour for the chicken, 30 mins upside down 30 mins right way up 180c on roast😋, maybe about 30ish mins for the roasties 205c) that's got to be cheaper than the oven imho (mine is especially awful as the seal is going so I'm not sure if it was holding in the heat properly)
