Great Vid as Always! My Oscar Koda has grown & he has been jumping up and hitting the glass lid , so im having to make a custom acrylic lid now, with feeding doors to make it easier to feed him instead of lifting the entire lid 👍
This is good info. I got my first oscar and had NO clue what I was doing and shoved that poor fish into a 10 gallon tank. No worries, when he outgrew it I moved him into a 75! This was before Google, cut me some slack.
You’re right I got my first Oscar a lul while back with a 25 gallon it grew so quickly so I got a 50 n he’s just getting bigger n bigger now I’m getting a 150 he’s a tiger Oscar to namez goon he pretty aggressive
I have A 120g tank would this be enough for 1 Oscar with 2 severums 4 blue acara and 5 Geo’s? Of yes How many cichlid would you add max to this tank? Thanks in advance 🙌
I have an oscar who got HITH and I cant understand why. My water is over filtrated and a 50% water change every Saturday. I dont over feed so I cant understand it. He's about 5 inches now and in a 110 gallon tank by himself.
Ive got a 55 gallon aqaurium, with a 3-4 inch green terror in it, and i wanna get an oscar to grow out in there then put the oscar and green terror in a 125 gallon. im saving up for a 125 gallon right now and in a bout a year i will have enough to buy i 125 and set everything up with it. can i get an oscar? {im 13 by the way}
Hi !! Green terrors and Oscars are AWESOME fish !! I did have that combo aswell and they were my favorite. I would suggest keeping the green terror alone for now in the 55 gallon as it will grow fast and be crammed into the 55 on its own let alone putting in an oscar. If you could upgrade to a 75 gallon in like 6 months you could pull it off. But keeping those 2 in a 55 gallon for a year is a no no :) Hope this helps :)
Man 🙄 I should've done my research before buying my Oscars I bought 2. And I have a 55 gallon tank but I fell in love with them but I got them small though so how much time do I have to save for a bigger tank? I know you said they grow large in about a month but is it ok to stay in a 55 for like 2 months ?
I lost Burnt my Oscar over this weekend. I went on vacation and left an auto pet feeder for my 120... it dumped all the food and he either gorged himself or the parameters skyrocketed :(
I have my 10” Oscar with a Sevrum and also a belly crawling pike. After the first week chasing them around he chilled out and they get along great now.
My all time favorite fish, especially the albino tiger oscar. I use to have an albino tiger oscar, pike cichlid, convict cichlid, tilapia butterkofri and a red blood parrot cichlid together. Definitely would like to do a set up like that again.
I absolutely love my Oscar! She has so much personality and character. She will eat for my hand. I got her when she was about an inch long and in her first year she grew to be over 10 inches. She’s now over a foot at about a year and a half‘s worth of growth

is 2 oscars good in 105 liter tank?... if the oscar outgrow.. the fish keeper said that we can gave the oscar back... i always clean the fish's waste and keep low nitrates... and have top filter with heater....i have a tiger and an albino oscar...my tiger oscar can do tricks...he will jump if i snap my finger on top of the tank..... they are healthy....
Another great video, you guys deserve some more attention from the fishtube community. I have a question about your 180, Troy. How did you go about stocking that tank with those cichlids in order to keep them so chill with each other? Did you put certain fish in before others? Or at different sizes? Or something else? You've inspired me to do something similar when I settle down at my own place in the future.
Thank you - really appreciate that! Most of the geos, severums and acaras are relatively peaceful, and I also grew them up together over the past two years. I added the Oscar recently as a little guy so that the others had a head start. The Oscar will soon be the biggest in the tank though!
I know this video is old lol.. I did an insane amount of research before I got mine earlier this week (baby)… his name is Squirt yes ironic I love it.. and he is an a 75 gal right now.. but I do plan on getting a 125+ gal tank soon.
I've got a couple of oscars in a 75 gallon and they get along just fine with my angels. As a matter of fact, one of my angel's likes to bully the oscars sometimes.
I had Twin Oscars and sadly one of them passed away and I did not think a Fish could get so depressed in my entire life. To this day he is still struggling and not the Fish he once was. His whole mannerism is different and I think he feels lonely in his 150 Gallon even with the Red-Eared Slider and Red Tailed Shark whom he barely interacts with anymore like he used to with his brother. I recently got another Oscar and put in a grow out Tank and hopefully that cheers him up when I eventually introduce him.
@michaelberardo4614 Sadly he died of depression. He wouldn't eat, sleep or do anything besides lay at the bottom of the tank and 4 months ago he just died. The other fish are OK though thankfully.
@@JackofallWades aw damn man sorry. I just got a new Oscar. He’s still quite depressed but I hope he can get through it. He’s been digging which is a sign of him acclimating. But I’m glad your other one is doing ok.
I hv an Oscar since he was an inch, since I had him it was like owning a pest. I saw UA-cam videos like these as motivation to get one and I did but all he does is lay on his side, give attitude and don’t eat. It’s not like I’m not giving him what he needs. He’s in a 100gal pond with good filtration and a pleco. I wish he was like the Oscar’s I see everyone else have. Sooner or later I’m gonna sell him
I don’t know what I did to upset my Oscar but he is TERRIFIED of me. He cowers in the corner behind a rock when ever im near the tank. I have to feed him and step back or he won’t go after it.
My oscar is lying very much 😭 there's no fungus no problem in water but also but she swims when I chase her by my oxygen pump 😭 please give me solution
This is really late but would there be any chance You guys at cichlid bros or even a viewer could post a spreadsheet or just a list of there oscar schedule i.e. tank maintenance, feeding, water checks, special foods? **edit** would love a pair of oscars (tiger and albino).. I have tried learning about them but there is not much specific information for them on youtube other than right here.
When I bought my oscar he was as big as a guppy, now i have him 7 months and he is around 8inch. Started with a 55, now a 95 gallon. I keep him with 2 angles, 2 convicts, 2 blue acara's and one pleco. I also have one botia striata swimming with him who easily fits in his mouth but he doesn't even care about it.. Also i tried to feed him livefood once (a guppy) and big worms, but he doesn't eat it. I think my big boy afraid of them because he turns very very yellow and plays for dead.. 😅 He also doesn't like dead whitefish and prawns/shrimps. What he loves to eat are livin earthworms and maggots, dried mealworms and pellets (especially bugbites.) When I bought him, I imediately fell in love with him and I can assure: he got a home forever. 🤩
I was given a albino tiger ocsar when i was 15 by my uncle unfortunately he didnt tell me much about their care needs(he probably wasnt educated on it) i had my one oscar in like between a 30 to 50 gal tank and sadly being a irresponsible teenager i didnt take care of him to well i did give him away to someone who could care for him better after like a year i want to try again and do better i loved my oscar
I had an Oscar in a 75 gallon. It was still too small. If I still had him I would have doubled up to 150 gallon. That’s a good minimum I would say. They produce a lot of waste.
I just got the last wild Oscar that they had at aquarium adventure but he's always hiding sometimes with tail bent or on his side and when he's out he's only in the back of the tank water parameters look good I'm not sure what else I can do to help him any ideas?

I can have Bare bottom tanks for oscars? Because they are really messy

How big should the tank be?
I’d recommend 75 gallons or (hopefully) larger
What Im afraid of is the Oscar picking up a rock and cracking the glass. Has anyone known this to happen?
How big should my tank be if I have a tiger Oscar, Jack Dempsey, and green terror inside the tank.
I would say 75 gallons minimum, but 125 or larger would be best

I might go with the Oscar there, but they are close!
I have a 50 gal but the Oscar is still nice and kinda low on money so would I need to get a bigger one?
I would recommend a minimum of 75 gallons for one adult Oscar by itself, and a larger tank with tank mates
I have 2 tiger Oscar and 2 red Oscars. They are very cool and smart.
I have two in a 180lt wit two geos jack dempsey an a have cat fish too
180lt as in 180 liters?
That’s small for all that.
my aquarium is 70 gallons (264litres) could it still fit one oscar? could it even be ok with my 2 angels that are already in the aquarium??
Solo Oscar would be okay. An angelfish tank would be great in a 70
