I got myself this guy a few months back and quickly found that I want different pedals, but DD wheel is a great experience; I particularly enjoy how road surface feels on games like iRacing
if you already have a logitech set, you can just buy the c5 wheelbase and buy either the leo bodnar converters or the logitech g racing adapter to be able to use the shifter and the pedals on anywheel. ive personally done the former and will be slowly upgrading to loadcell pedals.
Great review. And i must say your addiction path seems eerily similar to mine. I also started with fightsticks went and bought a g29 then a quest 2. Now all im wondering is if the flight sim hotas sets would also elevate the enjoyment you would get from playing. I wasnt a huge racing or fighting game fan before these but now i cant stop playing them. I wonder if someone who doesnt particularly like flying would also start loving playing flight sims with proper gear.
It's unfortunate how it doesn't have support on some games, given how outstanding it is for its price point while still having the direct drive feature.
@@NihongoGamerit is yeah i saw alot using the C5 in those games and more, but there a bit tricky to setup i think 🤷🏻♂️ as for other pedals and shifters yes you can use whatever you like as long as you can plug them directly to your pc, so you can buy an adapter for the Logitech pedals and shifter and use them along side the C5 it will make it the best budget setup ever ❤️🔥
5:42 - Stronger wheelbase is realistic only for racecar classes like GT3, LMP1, F1 etc. where as for a normal/sporty car the C5 is bit more than enough
@@NihongoGamer I have seen Benjamin “bearzly” Gwin did played too much controllers on Dark Souls such as Rock Band controllers including guitar and drum, DDR dance pad, Donkey Kong drum, piano, and more beside racing wheel controller. He is also awarded by Guinness World Records as well.
Looks a bit like the wheel is the only real "product" and the rest of the setup is corner-cut heavily to make the wheel affordable. That's fine, but if you want a full setup as a newcomer I can't help but feel like the G29 is still a better buy. The G29 is still a great wheel for beginners and it's so well supported that it's plug and play with every game. If you get the G29 and then become a real sim-racing enthusiast then you're likely to want to upgrade your setup in a more personal and intentional way using the preferences and targeting the games you've come to play and enjoy most. I feel like a newcomer would be ill-served by trying to leapfrog beginner gear like this. The G29 is a complete package with no fuss that lets you jump into the best parts of sim racing without having to think about the minutia. I feel like this things only real claim to the throne is "it's direct drive", while the people that it's targeted at don't even know what that means or why it matters. It's like trying to sell a competition compound bow to someone who has never knocked a single arrow before. The beginner gear is simple for a reason. Not to mention that this wheel is direct-drive, yes, but the drive is inside the wheel itself, which is highly irregular and means that you cannot upgrade just the wheel or just the drivebox. So if you decide you want to upgrade in the future you're still in the exact same situation as the G29 where you are basically having to start from scratch. I dunno about this one. Feel like a strange product that was made to capture people chasing "direct drive", but not actually targeted at the right audience. Or any audience.
Nice vid, been watching a lot of reviews of different direct drive wheels and one i cam across was surprisingly a pxn the pxn v12 if im correct, in one of the videos I watched he pxn v12 is able to be used in pc and on playstation via a Dongle that connects at the back of the wheel base so this might be an interesting thing to check out
For so long I've wanted to get VR, wheel, pedals, shifter. I have the money, but I never think it's gonna be worth it. Dirt Rally or other sim racers would be so fun tho
Go step by step. Get the wheels first and if you like it but need more immersion get vr. Vr can be a bit nausiating for a while but wheel+vr combo is something magical. Also dont forget that you always should start with cheaper options that have proper force feedback. Never dive headfirst into hobbies.
It is worth it. The feeling of playing a racing game with a wheel is so different and better than using a gamepad. The same with VR. Driving a car with a realistic viewpoint and fov with the ability to turn your head is transformative. Adding the two together is like having a car-shaped holodeck.
if you want to drift easier, on pc, and got a flight sim stick, you can set ebrake onto it. its hard without a clutch pedal, and side shifter. I have an old g25 and never tried newer wheels of this/last gen, but never had to manually throw the wheel in too many games, as long as force feedback is decent to spin wheel by itself. I'm surprised if you have to.

It says it’s compatible with Forza and CarX on the website. Maybe I just set it up wrong…
I don't like xbox series xs fightpads, but i like the others that are not related to xbox. Are there any recommendations?

I also own the G29 and have been looking at direct drive for awhile now. This Cammus is in the lead for what I pick up now.
Oh wow. This is better fit for racing game. Also this racing wheel controller could play work on Dark Souls as well.
Yes, perfect for dark souls

Good points about ease of upgrade being affected by the base being in the wheel!

Interesting! Great to have so many options!
What’s the point of the mini screen?

What if? Playing Street Fighter VI using an N64 Controller? specifically the Brawler64 by Retro Fighters or the 8bitdo N64 Mod Kit.

An old flight sim stick! Clever idea
You got mentioned in the newest Hbomberguy video!
Yea! Very exciting!
How well does it work for GGST?
I won EVO using it with my hands tied behind my back. So, it’s all right.
