    Thanks Belinda! I was trying to figure out if it was possible to do these just yesterday and thought it might only be able to be done by big brands. So exciting - definitely got some ideas I want to try!

    We are being spoilt Belinda! Thank you so much ☺️. I’ve seen the brand SkinInc have such serums and I always wondered how they are made.

    Hi Belinda, Thanks for innovative formulations.
    Please suggest me can I use a hot plate magnetic stirrer to heat like you directly on plate..Please suggest at what temperature to keep so that I can heat ingredients like you do on this stove. Thanks

      Please speak with your local lab supplier about equipment you can source locally - they will be able to give you specific brands you can source based on your location. What I can get locally could vary significantly in price or availability to what you can get, so you do need to speak with a local lab supplier to your location. Happy formulating!

    Hello. When you said neutalizing the water phase., did you adjust the pH to be more basic or acidic? And the pH adjusters that you use are stock solutions? Like 1X of NaOH or 1X Citric Acid? Curious. I have a bachelors in biochemistry, but I want to get into cosmetics chemistry more. I understand and know how to draw my organic chemistry structures haha! And the solid knowledge of a variety of chemical reactions.

    • @violindalola
      @violindalola 4 роки тому +2

      Or do you mean neutralizing solution with a salt solution/buffer to stabilize the pH more in the solution?

      @@theinstituteofpersonalcare6401 I know how to adjust pH. I am a biochemist lol. I just wanted to know what you meant in neutralizing the water phase. You can neutralize with base or with acid or with salt and in THIS video you didn't specify, you just said neutralize which is a blanket term.

    • @violindalola
      @violindalola 4 роки тому +2

      @Alomgir Ali Ok. I am a biochemist so I use liquid form to change pH of solutions its called titration. You never usr powder to adjust pH its a standard thing to know as a scientist. I just didn't like in the video she used the term neutralization and never explained when I asked why she used the term. Some people who watch these videos are actual scientist don't assume the viewer has absolutely no knowledge of the field or else what you say sounds really wrong. The term neutralization in this video was used incorrectly in my professional opinion.

    • @violindalola
      @violindalola 4 роки тому +1

      The process of reducing pH of a solution is not neutralization in chemistry terms.

    can we add vit c to be encapsulated making a stable vit c serum?

    • @theinstituteofpersonalcare6401
      @theinstituteofpersonalcare6401  2 роки тому

      No - it needs oil soluble actives that are heat stable. Vitamin C would not suit the solubility requirements or the heat required. No - they wouldn't suit the heating step. Instead, make your own liposomes - you would need to use the concentrated form of the liposome so that you can use the correct proportion - but this would be a great delivery system more suited to the materials. Create your own liposomes: ua-cam.com/video/hfnWwjCtdyQ/v-deo.html

    Oh Belinda.....I just love these two products...but am having a dilly of a time looking for a few of the ingredients. I had to cross reference with the INCI and try to locate these ingredients this way and I think I nailed them down. Keep your fingers crossed, and if they don't turn out I'll have to pick your brain about how I can figure out a way to do these 2 products. I have checked a few places and may have been able to locate them but under their INCI name....so keep your fingers crossed!. Thank you for such wonderful, information and a great education on products and creating formulas. You are just fabulous!

      @@theinstituteofpersonalcare6401 I did use the actual names you provided in the formulations then cross referenced them to the actual manufacturer then actually contacted the manufacturer..... especially the micro-encapsulates....Biogenic WetCapsule-DPT(B)-A100 (Biogenics) was one of them. I contacted Bigenics to no avail....I am not a large company. I also contacted Lubrizol as well. I think the problem is that I am not a large manufacturer. I would love to be able to have access to these ingredients. I also joined the Cosmetic raw materials for Small Brands to see if I can locate someone there.

    Nice concept. However the red is awful. A green or blue or pink is more appealing. Did you select red for a reason? Is it to give the skin some colour. I suppose red blends into your skin tone better than blue or green I suppose. Anyway thanks
