- The third generation of the Cadillac Escalade is here, but is it better? Under the hood is a 6.2L V8 that is pumping out 420HP & mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission. Also available is a 3.0L turbocharged diesel inline-6. The exterior of the new Escalade showcases Cadillac's new design philosophy, 22in wheels and the first time ever independent rear suspension. ***ABOUT THE MASK**** In all surrounding counties of the part of the Florida that I live and work in it is mandatory that if you are inside a business you must have a mask on. I know there was someone else without a mask in the review walking by. I don't know who it is or do I have any control over what they are doing. I am a guest at the dealership and will do what I have to so that you get the reviews of the vehicles you want to see.
This particular one is a preproduction unit that is used to train the staff and was not allowed to be driven. It actually was only at this location for one day. I will have a sellable unit soon so that I can do the drive portion and review.

Escalade. Made for rich people that never worry about crying wallets.
Back in the day(60's/70's) the family car was a station wagon, and ours was pretty awesome for that time. It cost $4000 and would basically fall apart after about 5 years. The rear window went up into the roof and the tailgate went down into the floor. The best part for us kids was the third row seat, and we all fought to ride in the wayback as we called it. The seat actually faced backward so you could check all the cars following you! Those were the days as they say.
Ok, I have a 2020 Lincoln Navigator Black Label. I purchased the 2020 after selling my 17-year-old fully loaded 2003 Lincoln Navigator. For those of you who don't know, back in 2003 the Navigator had an independent rear suspension and power running boards... the Escalade eventually got power running boards, but it took until 2021 to get the independent rear suspension, and the transmission selector off of the steering column. Let me say this.. I have always liked the Escalade and continue to have great respect for the SUV. The 2021 seems to be really nice. As for Lincoln.. the later models did not look all that great until 2018. The 2018 redesign has truly changed the game. Ultimately I went with the Black Label because I absolutely LOVE the interior theme and how comfortable seats are. I also went with Lincoln again because my 2003 was AWESOME!! It never gave me a problem. So at the end of the day, at this level, neither of the two (Navigator or Escalade) can be called "trash".. both are very nice, comfortable, upscale SUV with a lot to offer. I’m proud to see the top two largest American SUVs representing our country well!
3rd generation lincoln navigator looks better it has the retro interior especially the gauges looks amazing.
We definitely need to do a direct comparison with the navigator. Both highest trims.

Alex Luce I disagree I think the Navigator is going to be more impressive in most of the features out of the two.
This vehicle is catering to conspicuous consumption. Even I might be the last person in the world to consider thinking, not even buying such kind of vehicle I did enjoy the video.
Most luxury SUV in this category including Lincoln Navigator, Land Roverl Range Rover have the air suspension lowering itself to allow easier passengers' ingress and also to load cargo in the back. One thing GM beats competition is good fuel economy even from V8 gasoline engines. Considering Ford F150 came as a hybrid HEV and soon as a PHEV hybrid, competition might indeed overcome gas guzling habits.

I love how The Escalade finally has the panoramic sunroof that was the one thing the navigator had over the Escalade, but I sure miss the front end especially the headlights on the previous generation, it's going to take a while to get used too.
I have to say what an outstanding review that Cadillac is gorgeous it's magnificent all that's missing are Vogue tires.

GM knocked it out of the park with this Escalade. Always been a GM fan and always knew they could build the best car in the world and in my opinion they did with the C8 (almost perfect in every way) . Looking forward for more great products from GM! Yeah this gave me hope that GM would remake the interior for the Silverado and Sierra, but they are putting the interior form the Suburban and Thao, I wish they would do something original.

I am waiting for a driveable unit.
38 speakers. My 69 GTO came standard with one speaker in the dash and I paid extra for the single rear speaker option. It was easy to tell if one of your speakers wasn't working.

Im only 13 years old but I love this channel. Its very informative and helps me choose which car I should save up for. Also, I like how everything is consumable, starting with the food in the most random places, to his knees in his mouth in three row vehicles. I remember a coworker that borrowed his brothers Escalade years back tried to convince everyone at work he bought it and he was saying it was a 2001. We argued because I told him they skipped the 2001year and he felt stupid for being called out. I was neighbors with his brother so I'm not sure why he even lied and said it was his in front of me. 🤣😂🤣

Great review, Joe. I just preordered one three days ago at the dealership. I was really impressed with the interior quality after sitting in their demo version (definitely better than my old 2016 model) and the technology isn’t even comparable. Looking forward to your driving review in the future!

MR. CEO Mine does in fact have Super Cruise equipped. They told me I’d have to wait a few months extra for it (around September of this year), so I decided to lengthen the wait since I drive on the highway a lot and wanted the option so bad. I had just configured the car that day when I went and sat in the demo, but was told my ETA would be in the early Fall. Had to have Super Cruise and Night Vision in mine, since I also live near roads that aren’t well lit at night.
Will Thibault yeah if you’re paying that much you should everything you want. My dealer in Austin said she isn’t able to submit my order yet. I just did a build on Cadillac web site and it came to $115k. Ouch. It’s beautiful but I do think it’s overpriced by at least $15k. I think maxing e everything should come right at $100k. I’m still going to order though. Lol did you the esv?
MR. CEO I just got the regular wheel base version, I don’t need all the extra space in the third row since I’ll never really use it to carry people around. I agree, too, that the price is a little high, since the one I configured came to be around $20,000 more than my 2016. I have a 2018 Lincoln Navigator right now as my big SUV, but I’ve been an Escalade owner in the past and wanted to come back to the brand. I’m looking forward to driving one in the coming weeks and months to see if the new suspension makes it feel less truck-like and more like the German cars.
I can’t wait to see the other wheel options b/c those ain’t cutting it other than that excellent job Cadillac excellent job Joe.

Even though my 2021 Yukon denali ride exactly like the escalade I wish I would have spent the extra 15k and got escalade just because of that dashboard and infotainment system. OMG it's freaking amazing inside the cockpit with the ambient lighting all around.

I find it interesting that GM decided to go with a shifter on the console in the 2021 Caddy, but the Tahoe and Yukon has a push button shifter. Figured it would be the other way around. Yo Joe, you like wearing the face mask?

I just got an XT4 for an insanely good price, and while I was at the dealership I asked if they were getting the tester anytime soon. They told me that they didn’t know but they’ve already pre-sold 30 of them and quite a few of those were the platinum trim level. Idk why they didn’t put the platinum trim in the showrooms but all of these are pre-production I think since delivery is November. Either way it’s my dream car! Also someone said this has a shifter vice buttons but it’s a digital shifter like the other cars. NGL it’s pretty bomb. I didn’t expect that I would like it as much as I do. Also the real one will have supercruise which I forgot.

I prefer the look of the Navigator. I'm not digging the skinny headlights and large grille on this Escalade. I also don't like how the DRLs are just one light strip on each side. Doesn't have much character.
@@Noah-ui1iu To be honest, I think the Navigator's look is ruined by its lights - mainly the taillights. That light strip and those huge boxy-shaped lights are horrendous in my opinion. The way the taillights come onto the side of the car instantly makes it look a certain way in that you KNOW it's derived from a Ford.
