Watch, as the USAF Thunderbirds do a survey flight and perform some awesome passes over the Pier in preparation for this weekends Air Show!
NOTE: I'm still recovering from a broken foot & ankle and I've been on crutches since August 3rd! Had to film this while holding onto the pier railing with one hand, camera in the other hand and standing on one leg. - Авто та транспорт
Cool passes. The T-Birds flew the weekend before this in my hometown at the Alliance Airshow in Ft Worth. The weather was bad on Saturday but Sunday was beautifully. It was a great show. My neighborhood is lucky enough to be what seams to be a way point or visual ground reference for both the T-Birds and the Blue Angles. More so for the Blues however. I get to watch the entire show during practice and performance shows from my back porch with many of the low pass turns happening right above my house. Some are so close that you can actually see the pilots and aviators looking back at you. They set off all of the car alarms in my neighborhood when they make these passes. It’s a blast to watch with my kids and now my grandson. Thanks for sharing.

Nice vid man was never able to see the thunder birds but they look amazing. Have seen the blue angels a few times, and air shows are quite an amazing atmosphere and cultural experience.

I wasn't there today but I did manage to see some of the jets from the airshow here in Anaheim. The Red Arrows flew directly overhead which was nice to see. My wife and I were in Garden Grove earlier and saw the A-10 flying with the F-35 I think.

Did you capture the sonic boom on video? I got that when they past bye after the 360 around the boats and came back down the coastline.

Do you recall about what time they did the practice flybys? Im guessing around the same time to match sun location.
I cant make it this year but id like to try to go to the Beach on Thursday to see if they do some practice runs.

Is it worth to get the ticket for the pier or watching it from other location without ticket is fine?
It's defiantly worth it if you're trying to greet good footage. I was here too and watched from the beach and it was hard to get any unobscured shots. If you just want to enjoy it I recommend just watching from the beach because they fly much closer to it.

Panasonic HC‑WXF991 for this video. It's actually my backup camera I'm using for now because it's small enough to carry while I move around on crutches. Canon XF400 is what I usually shoot with.

Day 2 my dad took pictures of the thunderbirds they when we went back to the car all of them flew over us

Love it when they make passes in afterburner, but deploy the airbrakes. "Gotta shake the teeth out of this crowd, but cant go too fast now!"
That's the best part. At my airshow a couple years back, we got to see the Raptor (first time for me), and since our airport doesn't allow USAF jets to take off from our runway, the Raptor flew in from a nearby base. Flew in from behind the crowd and then just slammed into full afterburner and ascended slowly right in front of the stands. Loudest thing I had ever heard! It was awesome.
I got a sonic boom on video today. After they made the heart and the one thunderbird made that sick ass 360 around the boats and shot up. When he came back around towards magnolia and made the cut, another surprise jet blew by and boom. Pretty damn sick
