  • WWW.ZINGERCHAIR.COM The Zinger is an innovative portable travel mobility chair that challenges the traditional handlebar scooters in every way. Its ultra light folding design provides easy portability with solid performance. At only 41 pounds with its Li-ion battery pack installed, it's easy to take on the plane or load into the car trunk. Gone is the need for a rear scooter lift or a ramp van. It has a range of 8 miles, speeds up to 6 mile per hour, easily climbs 8 degree ramps, and literally turns on a dime. Its two lever control system make the Zinger the only mobility device that can pull right up to a table or desk. An inventive swing away foot plate makes getting in and out as easy as getting up from a kitchen chair. The Zinger is different for all the right reasons. Please visit www.zingerchair.com for more information.

    As I have PLS this chair has been a life saver, as now I have my mobility back. I’ve even added front and rear lights and a horn. Absolutely a fun and convenient way to get around.

    This is very unique design, but at 41 pounds few could carry it with one hand as shown on video. Also I prefer joystick so I can hold something in my other hand - perhaps if you add a basket, it'd address that.

    There is now a joy stick version available called the Joy Rider I can't link to it here but theres a video on here on the dkcitytw channel. I have nothing to do with the companny or the invetor, just happen to be researching these for university and I like the lightweight design of this chair! The price is fair too compared to others I've seen. Unfortunaley the joy rider put on a few pounds (probably made cheaper overseas) now it is 50.6 lb so It's a fair bit heavier...

    I forgot to mention in my previous comment, the squeeze trigger mechanism for controlling speed is a hair trigger. One would think that the length of the trigger's travel would provide a decent range to control speed - not so. A slight pull gets you moving, just a little bit more and its wide open. Not good, and the distributors have been aware of this for some time now. There are 3 forward speeds. One would think that based on the principals of electric energy, it shouldn't matter which speed is selected to go up a steep ramp. Not so for the Zinger. If a ramp is steep enough the fastest speed may need to be selected in order to provide the necessary power to make it up the ramp. I'm no stranger to speed having raced cars in the past. But do to the aforementioned hair trigger I have yet to use the top speed in going up a steep ramp, finding it safer using the 2nd speed and asking someone to give me a bit of a push.

    • @JoelQ502
      @JoelQ502  7 років тому

      Hello again Robert. Try bracing your index finger against your middle finger to help modulate the speed trigger. The reason you need High for ramps is because Medium and Low range limit the Voltage to the motor. More high-tech devices actually have the capability to sense the speed and add more voltage to climb a hill while not letting speed increase on flat. Maybe we can work that in on future generations.

    • @robertkurowsky5654
      @robertkurowsky5654 7 років тому

      If the trigger electronics were designed properly, your suggestion wouldn't be necessary. I have mastered using the hair trigger, just have to slowly squeeze to get started. With all the travel distance the trigger has, such slight movement shouldn't be necessary. A poorly designed potentiometer. Full voltage should be available at the end of the trigger's travel, regardless of what speed is selected.

      Yes, that's what stood out a mile to me too! You can't carry anything or even as I do take my own suitcase which is on 4 wheels when I go abroad on my own, wouldn't be able to do that with the zinger, other than that I do actually like it a lot.

    It stinks that you need both hands to move the chair. It would make getting in and out of doors impossible unless someone opened the door and held it for you...this is not always an option.

    • @JoelQ502
      @JoelQ502  8 років тому +6

      +kellie77381 Hi Kelly. Wheelchair users have the same issue - wheelchairs require both hands. But it's really not impossible, you simply use the open door itself to pull yourself through. I will post a video of me demonstrating this trick someday soon. Regards, Joel

    People complaining that you need "strong working hands" need to calm down. You're tanking ratings of a great mobility device just because it doesn't work for you? Last time I checked, we weren't all ganging up on walkers just because we can't walk. There are dozens of chairs just like this out there. For god's sake just let people have this.

    My concern is I would be specifically purchasing item for a trip or two to Europe. To be told to just get a converter or adapter, or “the hotels have them” is not enough to make me feel rest assured that The electronics or battery won’t be ruined in the process. Why don’t you provide a converter for purchase for charging in Europe? I so want to, but I don’t want to spend this type of money to be SOOL and stuck in a hotel room with an expensive piece of metal to be recycled!

    I think it needs more big solar photovolyaic wheels, and a solar little roof and back. It gives more autonomy.

    • @JoelQ502
      @JoelQ502  7 років тому

      That would be great, I agree. I have seen people with solar recumbent (low seat) bicycles, but to be honest I think the area above such a small vehicle is too small to create much energy for the charging. It would make more sense to have solar on the roof of a home, which charges a bank of batteries, which later can charge the battery in your Zinger. Much work is being done all over the world to make such a system effective and affordable.

    I've owned a Zinger Chair for awhile now. Excellent for hard flat surface, tricky for going up ramps having sharp turns, near treacherous going down ramps having sharp turns. Would like to see a video on how to control speed and direction on down ramps having sharp turns. Maybe I'm not aware of something. In referencing ramps I mean ramps made for disabled folks like those that can be found in public buildings including new, ADA compliant buildings like libraries, courthouses, etc. Until shown/proven otherwise, I cannot recommend this product.

    • @JoelQ502
      @JoelQ502  7 років тому

      Hello Robert. When going down a ramp, use gravity to propel you, steer with the brakes. I cant explain why your having trouble going up ramps, be sure to select High so you have the power you will need to drive up it. Email me at info@zinger.com chair if you have more questions. -- Joel

    • @robertkurowsky5654
      @robertkurowsky5654 7 років тому

      Going down a fairly steep ramp is a bit tricky trying to apply what you refer to as brakes (pulling up on the levers), even when the ramp is straight, lacks turns. Forget about using this technique should there be a right angle turn to negotiate on a downgrade. Prove me wrong by creating a how-to video clip addressing this issue.

I am a complete handi- cab person and have a scooter to get me around.If people start buying these scooters and riding them around for transportation when they can walk with out them its going to cause trouble with the public. I get dirty looks and if you go zipping around like your video shows the police will get involved. I dont want to be hassled by anyone,handi-cab people can use them but not general public.
