Well I am happy Arumba is enjoying himself playing this, but to the other people who are thinking of buying this game, don't fool yourselves too much about it. If you've played patrician 4 or rise of venice, then you've already played 99% of this game, literally. If you haven't played hundreds of hours of those two, then I would advise not to waste your money on this game as it is 100% the exact same game as patrician 4, just with land connexion instead of sea connexion between the cities, literally, this is not a joke, I don't think they spent too much time making this game considering it's the exact same game with the same engine and graphics as patrician 4. Also Kalypso the developpers have a history of remaking the exact previous games but with less content so they can put more DLC's into it to make it something somewhat close to a full game experience, see patrician 4 and tropico 5, just to cite the two most known of their games. And there is also the fact that the trading management games made by Kalypso are just incredibly dull and shallow, you literally saw 99% of the game in this single video. Buy Anno 1404 gold instead of this, or even anno 2070. This is just a friendly little review about Kalypso games from a nobody that played every single one of their games.
+Caio Prado Quill, research anything? No.....not a surprise at all. Afterall he's a guy that decided to drink and cry when a Cities XXL decided to resell itself with critical engine improvements by giving us multicore capability...I really dont get why people even like him given his knee jerk reactions to things.
+Alex Fairclough As opposed to just updating the old version that people already paid for (And is still borked otherwise there wouldn't have been a problem to begin with) Yeah that's kinda scummy, screw cities XXL
+Kira Reilly It's already been widely discussed that putting in multi-core capability isn't an easy task, especially when they just inherited the IP, they didn't exactly develop it. The question is why they continue to stick with it given those issues, but that's beside the point. My point is that he never approached it objectively, like he doesn't approach MANY things objectively, in fact he approaches things childishly subjective. Hence my dislike of him and the "quality" of his content, and honestly he approached that entire situation like an EA/Ubi/Blizzard cashgrab, which it was far from if he ever chose to compare the two. I never bought XXL because of Skylines, but that doesn't mean this his "Review" was even remotely justified in taking the position he took.
Been Loving this game on quill's end for awhile now, glad to see my favourite spread sheet master give it a try as well. TBH I don't think I've ever been influenced this much to pick up a game before~
Oh yes, another LP of this game to give Quill's company. And since it's Arumba, we know he will be uploading daily like clockwork, unlike others... >_>
I've been waiting for this game to come out, seeing a bunch of previews on youtube I was like "I hope Arumba plays this game so I can determine if it's actually good" Lo and behold xD
+KEIS And call the region Iberia, not Spain. Not only it ignores Portugal (and Andorra & Gibraltar), the countries in the region didn't exist (or were vastly different) in this period. It's veeeeeeeeeeeeeery bad historical accuracy. Plus fucking BARCELONA is missing. My god
+AleixASV In the medieval ages, spain and Iberia were the same thing. It's only when spain was formed without portugal included that the two were thought of as seperate.
+Keis The game doesn't really seem to care about real medieval politics, does it? I mean, what with starting as an individual city and just expanding outwards with no regards to contemporary borders. Presumably dynastic and religious international politics wont play a role in this game either, i.e. no noble and royal families, no excommunications and crusades?
+DrBirdski Pretty sure by the time Lisbon was in the hands of Europeans again Portugal was already a thing. Trust me, I'd know. So no, the game is wrong.
little things like the mountain size annoys me haha. The mountains need to be bigger and there should be fog around them to cover the detail so they don't look as bad. And i feel so should the continent size, can you get mods to fix these in game? I'm thinking about buying it haha. OH also would be cool if you could chose a custom map where the continents were random unlike using Europe
Tbh the settlers look rediculous, it's 1050 AD and they look like they're from the 1800's. Also the map seems to be a bit small, hopefully in the full release they'll add an option to expand the map. Otherwise though, the game looks good.
"NOT SURE WHAT I AM DOING?!" who are you and what have you done to the real Arumba, the real Arumba would already be a complete expert and proceed to show us how to completely break the game and curbstomp the AI. At the very least, you are still zealously fanatical about keyboard shortcuts, so maybe you are the real Arumba.
+joujou264 Depends on the time period, plus it's also missing Navarra and calls the whole Peninsula "Spain" where it should be Iberia (the actual name of the region). Also Madrid should be Toledo among many other things (missing Aragon is the main one though). It's pretty horrible on the historical accuracy camp. Plus BARCELONA is missing. holy shit
I'm italian so when I heard "Italy? Hmm I like Italy" I was like "Yeah go for Italy damn it!" and then "Nahhh let's go for something like Spain.." That time when your hopes are broken.
The difference between quill18 and Arumba can be seen when they are offered 7,500 coins for transit. Arumba accepts this deal and says "sounds good". Quill18 declines, makes a "better offer" and pays the chief 3,000 coins for the agreement.
"Kalypso you might know by..." *Crosses fingers* "Please mention Patrician. Please mention Patrician.." xD I love Kalypso (not as much as paradox) but they're trading engine is definitely something to look forward to in this :D
+Cpt. Gavorn Seeing Quill's own LP, there are, but as far as I have seen, they are cosmetic. You see snow cover the northern regions, but no visible effect I could notice. (That said, there may well be some, just not so obvious to a viewer)
A swordsman near a windmill in Spain, eh? And pretty much near the region of la Mancha, think the developers did that on purpose?
+Kain Yusanagi You are being very generous with your definition of "mounted" :P
Hey, there were cavalry mounted in donkeys
***** thats probably the best answer to my question ever lol, thank you! but I'm sorry about your mom.
Arumba's in a trade management game...how long til we get the spreadsheets again?
+Mathmachine Soon my friend soon...
+Mathmachine I say hes already got some ready hes just playing like hes a noob :P
+Mathmachine pfffff yeah go ahead its like fishing in a water puddle this game is so freaking shallow.
Spreadsheet-winter is coming!
+Mathmachine My coffee is now on my keyboard, thanks for that XD
I'm holding Arumba hostage for not knowing everything about the game.
+Zephyronian Send us 1000 likes or he gets it!
+Tseltel Please......take Northernlion instead!!
+JJ Kent XD

+Scyths1 You know this game actually resembles more Knights of Honor, with modern graphics.
+Scyths1 Finally someone who shares my fucking point
Was worried he was going to pick Turkey like Quill.Let's see how this does.
+kreuzkamm Because everyone is choosing that spot.
+TheKrazMaster pewpewchewchew started in gb
***** Don't know who he is and that's one person.
+XxBaalshazarxX quill didnt picked turkey, it was random
I unsubscribed so that I could subscribe in appreciation for this series. Go forth and conquer the world with math Arumba.
Oh Based Arumba! Thank you for bringing this let's play!
Based?...😳
Interesting looking game. Will have to keep an eye out and see if it's worth picking up.
Quill18 also did a mini series playing this game.
Looks like you did way more research than he did.
+Stormfox All hail the spreadsheet god.
+Stormfox Is that a surprise?
+Caio Prado Quill, research anything? No.....not a surprise at all. Afterall he's a guy that decided to drink and cry when a Cities XXL decided to resell itself with critical engine improvements by giving us multicore capability...I really dont get why people even like him given his knee jerk reactions to things.

I quite enjoyed this. It's a good game and Arumba just makes it better with his commentary.
These are the heady, enthusiastic days of when a game is new to Arumba. Eight videos from now the griping will start, lol.
At 7:42 Mayor Jesùs take the wheel.
Sus?...😳
Arumba, this is a sweet game. Thanks for playing it!
I would love to see you do a in-depth play through of this. Please give us more
Arumba think 1 city is an empire....
+Issac1709HD He is basily acting like a late byzantine emporer.
+Issac1709HD Well if a shitty third floor apartment can be a castle legally, I don't see why a city-state can't be an empire.
Thanks Arumba for making awesome vids I have a broken foot this keeps me sane all these vids
Been Loving this game on quill's end for awhile now, glad to see my favourite spread sheet master give it a try as well. TBH I don't think I've ever been influenced this much to pick up a game before~
Thanks for playing this game Arumba!

now this i have long awaited
just a quick tip to get a maximum amount of salt all you have to do is to invite shen into your town
This looks really cool, can't wait to see more.
I've been waiting for this game to come out, seeing a bunch of previews on youtube I was like "I hope Arumba plays this game so I can determine if it's actually good"
Lo and behold xD
They should put Toledo instead (Madrid) o.O
+KEIS And call the region Iberia, not Spain. Not only it ignores Portugal (and Andorra & Gibraltar), the countries in the region didn't exist (or were vastly different) in this period. It's veeeeeeeeeeeeeery bad historical accuracy. Plus fucking BARCELONA is missing. My god

Nothing like watching Arumba at 2 am
3am est!
enjoyed the first episode, hope you continue
Really excited for this series!
Was hoping you would cover this game!
Arumba, a true Rebel enthusiast.

"Sir the citizens found a load of beer!" my god, the end is imminent
Another good video, thanks Arumba!
Look at that lumber icon with gear.. It's like a land version of port royale 3..
Spreadsheets coming out, more or less, by episode 4. Please standby!
Did Arumba said at 0:55 'opt players' ? Because in romanian opt means 8
Wow nice game, gonna buy that.
Great work as usuall arumba!
lol, i can see Arumba loving this game so much. Just spread sheets and mathematical domination of the world
this game comes out on my birthday!!! Awesome!
Tbh the settlers look rediculous, it's 1050 AD and they look like they're from the 1800's. Also the map seems to be a bit small, hopefully in the full release they'll add an option to expand the map. Otherwise though, the game looks good.
+MegaTyler93 mods is where its gonna be at im sure
+ChrisEngle87 Devs said there will be no modding, sadly.
I really like how this game's setup :D
"NOT SURE WHAT I AM DOING?!"

+CypherRCX This will be added to the new testament
I remember the Stream where Kailvin played this game. It was hard to Bear. Hehe, get it BEAR. And there were bears.
Umm, wasn't Iberia occupied by muslims at this time? And if not, what happened to Portugal or Aragon?
Aragon went to middelearth Portugal got lost near New Zeeland.
+Heranara I love you.
+joujou264 Depends on the time period, plus it's also missing Navarra and calls the whole Peninsula "Spain" where it should be Iberia (the actual name of the region). I played a lot of rise of Venice, but the crashes! killed me because I really loved the game. This new one looks really good though!
I smell a Multiplayer Series incoming as soon as it is out
Aww... here I was hoping you were going to do Constantinople (that place needs more love!) but that's okay, Great Let's play though.
+TheOneTrueEmperor777 quills playthrough is their
+Stragemque thank you for the suggestion.
*****
my pleasure
Kailvins playthrough is there and he has like 30 episodes so far in his twitch VODs
its like the old port royale series i recognise the icons
you should team up with quill and do a multiplayer of this. I would love to see this
It's that game that Kalypso publishes every damn year... only this time there's ROADS!
Appreciate your videos Arumba
The similarities to the patrician series are quite obvious. The UI looks definitely improved and not as clunky as in patrician.
I'm italian so when I heard "Italy? Hmm I like Italy" I was like "Yeah go for Italy damn it!" and then "Nahhh let's go for something like Spain.." That time when your hopes are broken.
We now know what the next multiplayer is.
The game can be a challenge but you will always make money if you keep supply and demand in mind
i like this quite a bit arumba
I like it. Play more please!
Here is a comment: what did the fish say when ran into a wall... Dame!!!
Quill kind of slowed down on recording this game so hopefully Arumba can get a series going :)
Fuck yeah!!! Been waiting for somebody that can play this game efficiently.
Did set this up so all of is European viewers could see it first, it's like 3 a.m. for me on the east coast.
I think he just has it set to upload every 3
hours.
It must be every three hours since he uploads 8 times a day.
Do it Arumba do full lets play
Cool game ArumbaKalipso make some good games.
can't wait to see more of that sexy trading game xD
Saw you play this on stream :D
one of the best games so far!
Arumba , you didnt actually spend your Skillpoints. Those 3 Points will actually help you a lot in the Start so you should spend them! :)
Arumba can you upload more dota2 reborn beta or something?
20 ep series please. maybe more later
That looks pretty interesting. Do you have the game yet?
+Dennis Brooks not yet! also not out yet xD
so it comes out 25th in September?
Arumba how about Tropico 5? Derp :)
The difference between quill18 and Arumba can be seen when they are offered 7,500 coins for transit.
Arumba accepts this deal and says "sounds good".
Quill18 declines, makes a "better offer" and pays the chief 3,000 coins for the agreement.
That region isn't Spain, it's Iberia. As a portuguese it kinda hurts to always be forgotten.
im so excited for this game!
"Kalypso you might know by..." *Crosses fingers* "Please mention Patrician. Please mention Patrician.." xD I love Kalypso (not as much as paradox) but they're trading engine is definitely something to look forward to in this :D
Looks fun!
Liking this game!
this also reminds me Trade Empires
Reminds me of Patrician 4
+Silly Name looks lazier game mechanics than Pat4
he said 6 weeks is it in real life time?
Love it! Full trade FULL TRADE!!!!!
I'm going to be disappointed if he doesn't show us some Excel action in this LP
reminds me of the anno series
Buying this game.
Is this sponsored arumba or did they just give you the game?
Thought that it was a Mount & Blade clone when I saw the start menu, very disappoint.
Try Hegemony III - Clash of ancients :)
Looks interesting.
I hope they add the rest of the world
this reminds me the Port Royale
great, i will follow you!
kinda looks like a civ game
So the whole Iberian Peninsula is Spain?
Its been so long since ive watched on of your videos. I feel so dirty
are there seasons in this game?
+Cpt. Gavorn Seeing Quill's own LP, there are, but as far as I have seen, they are cosmetic. You see snow cover the northern regions, but no visible effect I could notice. (That said, there may well be some, just not so obvious to a viewer)
Andres Angulo thanks. didnt realize that quill played it already, will check it out
hey it comes out on my birthday neat
GREAT GAME 10 OUTTA 10
does someone know a good torrent?
The UK and ROI (Ireland) or shown as one country when you cycle thru countries... wtf
so it's a bit more like civ than tropico.
