Well I am happy Arumba is enjoying himself playing this, but to the other people who are thinking of buying this game, don't fool yourselves too much about it.
If you've played patrician 4 or rise of venice, then you've already played 99% of this game, literally. If you haven't played hundreds of hours of those two, then I would advise not to waste your money on this game as it is 100% the exact same game as patrician 4, just with land connexion instead of sea connexion between the cities, literally, this is not a joke, I don't think they spent too much time making this game considering it's the exact same game with the same engine and graphics as patrician 4.
Also Kalypso the developpers have a history of remaking the exact previous games but with less content so they can put more DLC's into it to make it something somewhat close to a full game experience, see patrician 4 and tropico 5, just to cite the two most known of their games.
And there is also the fact that the trading management games made by Kalypso are just incredibly dull and shallow, you literally saw 99% of the game in this single video.
Buy Anno 1404 gold instead of this, or even anno 2070.
This is just a friendly little review about Kalypso games from a nobody that played every single one of their games.

Afterall he's a guy that decided to drink and cry when a Cities XXL decided to resell itself with critical engine improvements by giving us multicore capability...I really dont get why people even like him given his knee jerk reactions to things.

+Kira Reilly It's already been widely discussed that putting in multi-core capability isn't an easy task, especially when they just inherited the IP, they didn't exactly develop it. The question is why they continue to stick with it given those issues, but that's beside the point. My point is that he never approached it objectively, like he doesn't approach MANY things objectively, in fact he approaches things childishly subjective. Hence my dislike of him and the "quality" of his content, and honestly he approached that entire situation like an EA/Ubi/Blizzard cashgrab, which it was far from if he ever chose to compare the two. I never bought XXL because of Skylines, but that doesn't mean this his "Review" was even remotely justified in taking the position he took.

I've been waiting for this game to come out, seeing a bunch of previews on youtube I was like "I hope Arumba plays this game so I can determine if it's actually good"

Been Loving this game on quill's end for awhile now, glad to see my favourite spread sheet master give it a try as well. TBH I don't think I've ever been influenced this much to pick up a game before~

+KEIS And call the region Iberia, not Spain. Not only it ignores Portugal (and Andorra & Gibraltar), the countries in the region didn't exist (or were vastly different) in this period. It's veeeeeeeeeeeeeery bad historical accuracy. Plus fucking BARCELONA is missing. My god
+AleixASV In the medieval ages, spain and Iberia were the same thing. It's only when spain was formed without portugal included that the two were thought of as seperate.

Presumably dynastic and religious international politics wont play a role in this game either, i.e. no noble and royal families, no excommunications and crusades?

just a quick tip to get a maximum amount of salt all you have to do is to invite shen into your town

+joujou264 Depends on the time period, plus it's also missing Navarra and calls the whole Peninsula "Spain" where it should be Iberia (the actual name of the region). Also Madrid should be Toledo among many other things (missing Aragon is the main one though). It's pretty horrible on the historical accuracy camp. Plus BARCELONA is missing. holy shit

Tbh the settlers look rediculous, it's 1050 AD and they look like they're from the 1800's. Also the map seems to be a bit small, hopefully in the full release they'll add an option to expand the map. Otherwise though, the game looks good.

little things like the mountain size annoys me haha. The mountains need to be bigger and there should be fog around them to cover the detail so they don't look as bad. And i feel so should the continent size, can you get mods to fix these in game? I'm thinking about buying it haha. OH also would be cool if you could chose a custom map where the continents were random unlike using Europe

Arumba , you didnt actually spend your Skillpoints. Those 3 Points will actually help you a lot in the Start so you should spend them! :)
The difference between quill18 and Arumba can be seen when they are offered 7,500 coins for transit.
Arumba accepts this deal and says "sounds good".
Quill18 declines, makes a "better offer" and pays the chief 3,000 coins for the agreement.

The similarities to the patrician series are quite obvious. The UI looks definitely improved and not as clunky as in patrician.

+Cpt. Gavorn Seeing Quill's own LP, there are, but as far as I have seen, they are cosmetic. You see snow cover the northern regions,but no visible effect I could notice. (That said, there may well be some, just not so obvious to a viewer)

Lol just stoping by and give you people a good advise pay attention to the gamplay and what it contains, you will realise this game is extreamly shallow and has no penaltis for your doings what so ever and its not modable.
Just dont freaking buy and support a Trade game which has a total of 20 Rescoursses and all of them are aviable to you from the start. If you want to disagree with me just tell me 1 Feature which is unique or makes this game worth buying over other games or keep playing like civ 5.
+Bainin Red civ 5 trading system is shit compared to this but i have to agree that this game is pretty shallow compared to even town building games
+CivilizedWasteland well you could argue both are boring atleast in civ 5 it makes sense to trade with other nations for happines bonus here its just more money.
