    Nice work Todd! When we were traveling with our rig in the Southwest this winter, our 1,750 solar setup would typically send 400-700 watts of power into our batteries, only occasionally reaching the 1,000 watt mark. The sun was just too low to do better than that. Now if we were in south Texas in July at noon, we might get close to their rated output, but you're not going to catch ME down there then!

    Hi Todd, great video
    I have a question ??
    I have class A moterhome.
    Can you just drop Lithium batteries and charge them with solar, generator, and plug and disconnect the Alternator
    Thanks

    Appreciate all your information. The Victron Boondocker bundle has (4) 175 watt solar panels. I like the rest of the setup, but could I use higher wattage to produce more power. Current setup allows for half a day according to my estimates...or is it more of a storage issue?

    Todd - your videos are always incredibly informative. Question - you mentioned you can have 2 charging sources at once. Can you have 3? Shore power, rooftop solar and briefcase portable solar?

      Yes as long as you don’t exceed the charge capacity of the battery/ies

    Todd and company.... How close to the batteries should a charge controller be to the batteries??

    • @calledtojourney
      @calledtojourney 10 місяців тому +1

      As close as you can, preferably only a few feet. Direct current (DC) loses power quickly over distance, and the power coming out of the charge controller will only be 13-14 volts.

    The question is
    How if the landlord leave their home and there is no home's load used while landlords leave their home at all and all batteries is fully charged? Where does the solar panel energy will go or delivered when a daylight time and solar panel within produce the energy condition? Anyone can help to explained to me please?

    Can I pay for just the solar class?

  • @Theistliecatcher
    @Theistliecatcher 10 місяців тому

    Yeah because if you have a 12 v battery you have to charge at least at 14 v to do the charging. Like a car. Look at how much your alternator puts out.
