- This is a solo bass arrangement of the Metallica song 'Nothing Else Matters'. It was originally intended to be part of my book 'Solo Arrangements for Electric Bass', but was not included as I couldn't secure the copyright permission in time. The sheet music and an MP3 are available as a FREE download at Bassline Publishing (www.basslinepublishing.com). To download the sheet music, create an account and log in. This was played on my Zon Sonus bass, through a TC Electronic RH450 amp.
As hard as this is to play, imagine how hard it must've been to compose

Hi, thanks for the nice comment! :D I can play almost fluidly until the minute 3:28: that tapping part is soo hard, and it sounds really bad when I do it. All the tapping parts in generale sound like I'm smashin some metallic stuff together ... I don't know, doesn't feels as good as when you play it.
Do you have any advice on how to perform the tapping parts of the song?

Ich höre mir diesen Cover immer wieder an, weil er besser als das Original ist! Ich hab mir die Noten direkt geholt:) aber bis ich das spielen kann werden noch viele intensive Übungsstunden vergehen. Ihre Lieder und Arrangements sind fantastisch und großartig! Das macht ihnen so schnell keiner nach!
Also besser als das Original weiß ich nicht. Es ist verdammt gut, auf jeden fall, und mit abstand das schwerste Bass Arrangement was ich je gesehen habe...
Aber das Original ist meiner Meinung nach eins der besten Lieder überhaupt. Extrem ruhig, aber aggressiv, präzise und dazu eins der besten Girarrensoli überhaupt. Schwer das überaupt zu toppen.

I look at all the talent and skill in this guy and him playing and he only has like 700k hits and then a no-talent hack has a song about gang num style and gets a gazzilon hits... what the fck is wrong with this world
JOE FAQURSELF I don't want to come off as controversial but, if you think about it, even people who used to play in metallica don't measure up to this guy.
I argue with my 16 year old nephew about whether SOME (key word some) rap is music or not. I ask, "Ok, since it's music, what key is it in? Other than the percussion parts it can't be written on a staff. Real music can be written, it has a key, sharps, and flats etc. From Mozart to Metallica a G is a G, and a E is a E."
+Woody H rap is rhythmically based. And if you are looking for the key, most times you can find out what it is by hearing the background music
+TPR8473 True. The background music does sometimes have a key. Because they have "sampled" it from a real song. Again this isn't applicable to ALL rap.
Its marketing strategy that some "gang num" style Bull is a gazillion worth.

I think I have watched this retelling of every couple of months for the past decade this has been uploaded.
Ofc I have indeed downloaded the offered sheet music, and got quite good at playing this piece, though life amd fatherhood get in the way and I don't practice like I should

Well. This knocks the arrangement u came up with a few years ago out of the park.
Stuart, seeing you using that range of techniques normally associated with the guitar makes me think of applying bass techniques to my guitar.
This piece, in particular, sublime.
