Dark Danny and Poindexter have the most crafty version of Overshadowing imo. Dark Danny can absorb another ghost along with their powers and Poindexter can swap bodies with the person while transporting his own body and the victim's soul to his dimension. Of course minus obvious limitations like having a *consistent* resistance to mind hax, or soul in Poindexter's case. Dark Danny having to maintain composure to use the ghost as his core and Poindexter lacking fighting skill (while relying on the moves of his opponent) are a noticable weakness to their versions of Overshadowing
Dark Danny is an accidental fusion between two ghost halves, thereby acquiring a combined power of said halves. He did the same with clockwork in the Glitch in Time novel, but they were still whole ghosts that merged. It wasn't a simple matter of absorbing other ghosts’ powers. Dark Danny would have been borderline unstoppable if that were the case.

I also wished that Danny would control the body of Sam and Jazz, and I even wished that Vald would control the body of Danny's mother, Maddie.

I'd say "y'all got problems", but he overshadowed Pauline repeatedly, so it's not like that couldn't've happened. It just _didn't,_ for some reason.
