Me too. I guess the location was only the best thing about that space. A big house with a garden would have been perfect for a growing family with a child on the way.
Nice couple. I too like to travel so good decision on not wanting to be house poor. But a condo, 1 tiny bath and 1 tiny kitchen with a little one on the way?..Not to mention NO in house laundry. Hmmmmm...they're young, and they will figure it out.
Well he does all the laundry so mom doesn't have to stress over that. But otherwise, yeah I would absolutely have to have in-house washer and dryer. I live in a studio now (yup, house poor so I'm living vicariously through these episodes, lol) and it SUCKS having communal space. I eventually gave up and switched to pickup and drop off just for my own peace of mind. It's a stretch. I may not be able to do it forever. But picking my washed, dried and FOLDED laundry sure beats sitting like a vulture waiting to see who's finished their laundry or having to take someone's clothes out of the dryer because they still haven't been picked up after 2 hours.
I guess that's the American way. Weird. I don't even like washing my clothes right after a fam member washes theirs, imagine sharing a washer with a lot of other people. Ew. And Im not carrying my clothes up and down xd
Donna Brown the deck and a toddler don’t mix either, especially if they were going to put stairs in, people simply watch their children around those areas of houses
@bridies5265 they could create a slide from the deck as well as steps. That was what the wife suggested they do. That deck was safer than the terrace or balcony of the condo.
Learninghowtorebuild I think they made a good choice. Yes they are going to have to move, but they will enjoy their baby and home and have the excitement, when they are ready and have grown some more to sell and re-buy. To much people dnt live for the momment and end up setteling for what dose not make them happy. Because it is seen as the wiser option.
He didn't want to do any work at all in my opinion. Didn't want to fix the backyard in house number #3, nor by the look of his face and tone, wouldn't have wanted to fix up the basement into a laundry room in #3. He uses the excuse of because there is a baby on the way as if a baby stays a baby forever. When the kid is like 4/5, he could have started on the work. They made the right decision because they didn't want to put in any work and didn't need to with the condo.
I loved the 3rd house. The only thing it lacked was the walking ability to places but I don't need to go to a restaurant or to the shops every day. I would rather have a large family home to grow into and not share laundry space with others.
I would have gone with the 3rd one too. They would have had everything they wanted except location. I suspect though, like the husband said, he didn't want to be bothered with yard work, which IS and issue. On the other hand, they could have bought a landscaping contract possibly with the money they saved. And they could bike downtown if they wanted. Or Uber it to avoid parking fees. Or even walk in good weather (without the baby of course; they'd need a babysitter but they're going to need that eventually anyway). I think they would have gotten better value for their money. But they also like traveling and apparently intend to do it again once the kid is old enough to come along. That doesn't leave time for a lot of home maintenance.
The Condo, This is the same situation you are in, and don’t forget most condo/Town home you have association fees. You have to share the Laundry. After 3-5 years you will be moving again to another Single family home. Wow.
Lucie Giraud yeah, not so smart move. They stayed for lifestyle, definitely not for growth. You have to sacrifice when you have children. 1 mile from your lifestyle will not be bad but I guess if you raise your child in that environment, maybe they will adapt, but good luck at sharing 1 bathroom w/ a small child, that would have been an automatic NO
Very nice couple! The agent could have look for a condo that had a wash/dryer, come on, with a baby coming public facilities, germs? Wash/dryer would have been a big +, but if they're happy, that's all that matters. Congratulation!! Consider an apartment size wash/dryer as a possibility, you have the space~
What is with these 1 bathroom old houses costing $300,00 - $500,000....ridiculous, why didn't the realtor show at least one home with two bathrooms OR at least 1 full and 1 half bath!?...lol, and I'm not talking about the toilet in the basement.
Terry H. My cousins have a toilet in their basement as well. And since it has no privacy they put a shower curtain over it. Lol I 2 wish Realtors wouldn't give ppl houses like that!😂
Terry H. For the area in Jersey that they're in, that's the going rate and style smh for those homes...not to mention the taxes which are typically $10,000+ per year! I am a homeowning NJ native lol
At least with the 3rd house, there was potential to put a second bathroom in the basement. I don't know how this couple is going to make do with that tiny bathroom in the condo with a baby.
I agree with everyone that said they should have picked #3. Babies are small but they come with lots of stuff. In a few years they will have to move again
I agree with some of the comments, they will outgrow that condo in a few years and will be moving again and plus its nice to have your own backyard. Nothing like owning an actual house. Condo was nice though.
I see all the comments saying how they picked the wrong house but I disagree. Both houses more than likely had some "hidden" problems that were just waiting to be uncovered because that's the nature of buying something old and wood frame as well. The condo, for their lifestyle was the best choice. Low to no maintenance and when they travel, they can lock it up without having to worry that it will get burglarized as easy as one of those homes would.
I thought that too until I heard their motives. They really wanted the cheapest place closest to downtown. Also bc they travel so much they didn't want any house maintenance. I would have picked #3 though
He need to realize he's married, need to b handy, fix thing around the house, pets, mowing grass, children need to run in backyards, the usual thing!!!!!!
All three options were small, crappy and overpriced. They settled, because the husband doesn't want to do yard or maintenance work. It should be a option 4
What a nice couple! How refreshing to see a couple that doesn't expect to have every friggin' thing and doesn't expect the universe to play concierge to their desires. Nice! I'm glad they're happy. I wish them all the best :^)
This is exactly why i wouldn’t move back to NYC if you paid me lol the prices are so high and the spaces are so small. i think the condo was a bad decision with a baby on the way. You’re going to need in house laundry & that bathroom was small. The last one would of definitely worked !
They are a cute couple. She is very pretty and they seem to get along well. I agree with a lot of others, house #3 would have been better for baby. I'm from NJ. Bloomfield, Montclair whats the difference? All of the restaurants and shops are close to Bloomfield Ave, which runs through BOTH towns.
I would have chosen the 3# cod house. And really, complaining about being a mile away? "That's not too bad" That's NOTHING! And if they walked it'd only take about 20 mins and would be great exercise. They act like they're an hour away. Nice couple anyway. She’s gorgeous.
I don't think the realtor did a good job showing them houses. They need MORE space, yet she is showing them places with tiny bathrooms and small kitchens. And only 1 bathroom.
Claudia B the way these shows are set up is the home buyer/s have to have already purchased a house. Apparently on the application it states you have to have bought a house already. So much for reality TV
missmary, Really? That's why I do not like reality tv. It's all smokes and mirrors and very little is organic and authentic. The couple was cool and the houses/condo shown was nice.
I agree but probably bc of the area, being so close to NYC is very expensive, you have to pay for location and bc they wanted to stay at a lower price point, that amt won't go to far in that area.
samaritan2911 That's exactly what it was. A budget of $400,000 in Montclair, NJ is very low. This is why they were shown the type of houses they were being shown.
Great couple, and they made a great decision based on what they needed. Why on Earth would you buy a house that is at the top of your budget that needs renovations?
The third option was more accurate to their requirements and future living conditions. Why the hell did they pick the 2nd option. Its gonna cost them greater in the future.
🚩#3 Did anyone notice the agent stepped in front of the kitchen door when the couple was checking the oven & refrigerator doors? 🚩 🚩That's because she knows that you can't open the door all the way to the wall because of the kitchen cabinets are to close to the door.🚩
Why they didn’t choose #3? It’s perfect for them. The yard work is not that bad and the house is all done.... I have a feeling they are about status and will move in a matter of a couple of years
I was hoping that they would have picked number three the Capecod house, and that dude doesn’t want to mow a lawn? Really? I think it just comes down to him not wanting to do any manual labor/lazy. But in the end it is their money so I wish them the best.
You don't want the stress of having home responsibilities but you're becoming a dad..? You kinda need to think more about that baby rather than what you want.
I raised my children for over 30 years in the town they are looking at. It is an overpriced area with a bunch of shitshod raggedy old falling apart properties that you pay a million dollars for. A lot of the properties were large , then converted to little tiny spaces for investment purposes. Although it is a decent place to raise kids, You are NOT going to get a lot of bang for your buck.
They are such a cute couple.
He is not handsome at all.
He's not THAT bad looking. They are cute as a couple though!
He is handsome, successful and seems like a nice guy, which is what's most important!
@@Zanaaa50 Get over yourself
They’re so adorable together and didn’t fight at all even though their styles were different.
This couple seems to have good chemistry.
"We're always on top of each other"
Yeah, no wonder she's pregnant! Lol
She reminds me of rudy and Dr simone from married to medicine all In one. Love watching house hunter's 😍😍😍
i thought young dr simone when i first saw her too!
YoursTrulyFreddie She does. .
She's really cute
Yes! I was thinking Rudy all the way. Very pretty. 😊
she looks like Mashonda
She looks just like Keshia knight pullium aka Rudy from the Cosby show...beautiful girl ✨
The condo was an okay choice. I just wish they'd pick house #3
Me too. I guess the location was only the best thing about that space. A big house with a garden would have been perfect for a growing family with a child on the way.
I love seeing young black couples on this show.
Such an a adorable couple.
Nice couple. I too like to travel so good decision on not wanting to be house poor. But a condo, 1 tiny bath and 1 tiny kitchen with a little one on the way?..Not to mention NO in house laundry. Hmmmmm...they're young, and they will figure it out.
Haha...right... with the quickness! #3 in my opinion... condo for just them... not with a lil ome on the way, they'll learn fast.
Clueless lol.. 3 was perfect for them
Well he does all the laundry so mom doesn't have to stress over that. But otherwise, yeah I would absolutely have to have in-house washer and dryer. I live in a studio now (yup, house poor so I'm living vicariously through these episodes, lol) and it SUCKS having communal space. the lacking of washer and dryer is doing my head in.... coz i really dont understand it... those are necessities in a house for goodness sake!!!
I guess that's the American way. Weird. I don't even like washing my clothes right after a fam member washes theirs, imagine sharing a washer with a lot of other people. Ew. And Im not carrying my clothes up and down xd
The wife is so cute, the couple seems lovely and I knew they'll go with the condo! This was a pleasant, fun episode. :)
Why do people want an old house with vintage charm and think they're gonna get open concept? Homes werent built that way 100 years ago.
XoXSpacecadetXoX there are plenty of vintage homes that has been renovated.
Awwww what a cute family. Sis is gorgeous.
Enjoyed this one - a young couple with relatively realistic expectations and a plan. I wish them well.
their relationship is beautiful! #blacklove!
love them so much as a couple!! they're one of the best ones I've watched here.
They might have buyer’s remorse. I don’t think they have any idea how much having a baby changes your lifestyle.
Terrace and a toddler don't mix. A child can fall from the roof. No laundry and a baby? NOOO not the condo. I think house number 3 was the best.
Donna Brown the deck and a toddler don’t mix either, especially if they were going to put stairs in, people simply watch their children around those areas of houses
Me too, I won't be doing my baby's clothes in a shared laundry.
@bridies5265 they could create a slide from the deck as well as steps. That was what the wife suggested they do. That deck was safer than the terrace or balcony of the condo.
They are a nice couple. I wish them and their baby the best:)
Their beautiful, but house 3 was close to the same price of the condo. Why invest in a place for that much , just to only move in 3 years
Learninghowtorebuild I think they made a good choice. Yes they are going to have to move, but they will enjoy their baby and home and have the excitement, when they are ready and have grown some more to sell and re-buy. To much people dnt live for the momment and end up setteling for what dose not make them happy. Because it is seen as the wiser option.
Love the condo! Small spaces are best! Just make it work!
I dont understand why people always say "oh that's right at the top of our budget". If you wanted something cheaper then lower you budget..
Yes, cute couple, how can you say, he doesn’t want to replace the roof. This is part of owning a home, regardless if it’s a town home.
He didn't want to do any work at all in my opinion. Didn't want to fix the backyard in house number #3, nor by the look of his face and tone, wouldn't have wanted to fix up the basement into a laundry room in #3. They made the right decision because they didn't want to put in any work and didn't need to with the condo.
3rd house is perfect! Very nice couple! This guy is lucky to have her!
I loved the 3rd house. The only thing it lacked was the walking ability to places but I don't need to go to a restaurant or to the shops every day. I would rather have a large family home to grow into and not share laundry space with others.
bad choice... third is best it has the most space.
Plus the bathroom in the condo was way too small to navigate with 2 adults then add a baby.
The Condo, This is the same situation you are in, and don’t forget most condo/Town home you have association fees. You have to share the Laundry. After 3-5 years you will be moving again to another Single family home. Wow.
will be hard to get a profit from those features in resell.
It's ok, they can move in a couple years and keep the condo and just rent it.
Lucie Giraud yeah, not so smart move. They stayed for lifestyle, definitely not for growth. You have to sacrifice when you have children. 1 mile from your lifestyle will not be bad but I guess if you raise your child in that environment, maybe they will adapt, but good luck at sharing 1 bathroom w/ a small child, that would have been an automatic NO
They are adorable 😊...but I liked the 3rd house for them since they're starting a family
She is gorgeous!!
I remember seeing this one on tv. Beautiful couple I definitely thought they should have gone with #3. Seems like the hubby got his way.
Such a happy couple.
She's so damn cute.
Cute couple. I hope that they will be very happy in their new home!
I like this couple, she is so pretty. I feel like all 3 choices were crappy. They will regret their choice, very soon, that condo is way too little.
cartina overton years all 3 gave me. Noooo don't do it..
and hard to resell. these few shows watching seem like they not finding the best agents to invest in a home.
Exactly ! Number 3 was perfect. I don’t know why they would opt for that tiny bathroom and kitchen!
cartina overton
I agree. For the price range, they weren’t presented with many good choices.
I think they should've gotten a different agent because it just seems like she was just thinking she could sell them a crappy home.

Awww they're new home is so nice Beautiful couple beautiful new home and congratulation on there new baby
House #3 You need space with a baby
Exactly. That garden would have been perfect for the child to run around while the parents relax on the deck and watch them.
i think outta all the couples ive seen in this show. i like these 2 alot. they really have that family team down pat
3rd house was my favorite
This Gives me pure joy.🤗
I agree with everyone that said they should have picked #3. Babies are small but they come with lots of stuff. In a few years they will have to move again
I really liked what they picked but I'd would probably go with the3rd home
I agree with some of the comments, they will outgrow that condo in a few years and will be moving again and plus its nice to have your own backyard. Nothing like owning an actual house. Condo was nice though.
Jeremy Esters I agree horrible idea
I see all the comments saying how they picked the wrong house but I disagree. The condo, for their lifestyle was the best choice. Low to no maintenance and when they travel, they can lock it up without having to worry that it will get burglarized as easy as one of those homes would.
They picked the worst one of the 3. I could have totally seen them in the 3rd one.
Me too Tracey!
Me too
I thought that too until I heard their motives. They really wanted the cheapest place closest to downtown. Also bc they travel so much they didn't want any house maintenance. I would have picked #3 though
Definitely #3 was the best choice. They have a baby coming they are going to need a yard not a terrace where the baby can climb over.
Tracey Baumgarner I thought the Same thing!!!
He need to realize he's married, need to b handy, fix thing around the house, pets, mowing grass, children need to run in backyards, the usual thing!!!!!!
I went to school with her oh wow
Xftbllplyr she is married jackass
Beautiful couple
All three options were small, crappy and overpriced. They settled, because the husband doesn't want to do yard or maintenance work. It should be a option 4
What a nice couple! How refreshing to see a couple that doesn't expect to have every friggin' thing and doesn't expect the universe to play concierge to their desires. Nice! I'm glad they're happy. I wish them all the best :^)
Beautiful and sensible couple.
They’re so cute!!! They may grow out of that condo very fast.
This is exactly why i wouldn’t move back to NYC if you paid me lol the prices are so high and the spaces are so small. i think the condo was a bad decision with a baby on the way. You’re going to need in house laundry & that bathroom was small. The last one would of definitely worked !

Tanya Toliver I agree. I’m from Jersey too and the two towns are next to each other connected by Bloomfield Ave.
The worst agent. Pity the couple
Yessss!! Why show a growing family ALL THOSE tiny, 1 bedroom options... she SUCKS... smh.
Awe. Super cute couple. Should've picked 3 but I'm sure she will get a stand alone within the next five to seven yrs.
I would have chosen the 3# cod house. And really, complaining about being a mile away? "That's not too bad" That's NOTHING! And if they walked it'd only take about 20 mins and would be great exercise. They act like they're an hour away. Nice couple anyway. She’s gorgeous.
Really thought they were going to choose the third one!
congratulations!
Such a cute couple and from my home state..almost missing home
Rudy Huxtable's little sister.
He reminds me of Wayne Brady!
They are so cute
Awesome couple ❤️❤️❤️
Very smart to not top out their budget so they can travel
They can buy a portable washer and dryer. This is just a few hundred dollars.
The real state agent is so brave and sweet oh don't be afraid and goes to open the door for her I like her.
So much for reality TV

samaritan2911 That's exactly what it was. A budget of $400,000 in Montclair, NJ is very low. This is why they were shown the type of houses they were being shown.
What are they gonna do once baby is older? I think they might seriously regret that downtown condo decision.
shelby lane I am 4:20 in. lolololol I'm gonna turn it off now. 😂😂
It's just a starter house.
They are in for a rude awakening when that baby arrives.
Great couple, and they made a great decision based on what they needed. Why on Earth would you buy a house that is at the top of your budget that needs renovations?
3rd one was best option future family expandable no extra sucker association fees and rules own personal access to washer and dryer
Adorable!
And how did they not pick 3 again??...😂
They should pick 3
I agree that the housing choices weren’t good.
They are like so cuteee
Homes are not maintenance free.
Bad choice. All they had to do with the 3rd house was basement but it was under budget and gave them the space they need.
Awhhh cute. I predicted#3
The third option was more accurate to their requirements and future living conditions. Why the hell did they pick the 2nd option. Its gonna cost them greater in the future.
🚩#3 Did anyone notice the agent stepped in front of the kitchen door when the couple was checking the oven & refrigerator doors? 🚩

Why they didn’t choose #3? It’s perfect for them. The yard work is not that bad and the house is all done.... I have a feeling they are about status and will move in a matter of a couple of years
cute couple
Lovely couple should have choose #3 though
I dont know about that husband of hers, he does not want to compromise with her on anything, plus he seems so lazy and not out going, girl good luck🙄
Rochee B Ikr
Why would you pay a mortgage to share a wall? I need a stand alone house!
JAchica11 Yess Exactly!
I agree. after im done with my lease..no more shared walls!
Why not just see if the building has other condos for sale that are bigger ? (since it was so much under budget)
I think it's a good choice for their season. They can move on later after few years.
YES! FINALLY A GUY GOT WHAT HE WANTED
They should have picked option 4.
They are not thinking about the baby, only themselves. Might as well stayed where they were. Small ass condo, Really?
I raised my children for over 30 years in the town they are looking at. It is an overpriced area with a bunch of shitshod raggedy old falling apart properties that you pay a million dollars for. A lot of the properties were large , then converted to little tiny spaces for investment purposes. Although it is a decent place to raise kids, You are NOT going to get a lot of bang for your buck.
Noooooo
Ok this open stove and fridge door thing is tired now 😝
OMG! Why the hell didn't they pick 3! So stupid!
too much for that neighborhood.
good luck.
