  • @anthonyharding4380
    @anthonyharding4380 Рік тому +45

    For others looking to switch to IEM's, don't underestimate the value of custom ear tips. From my experience this can drastically change the overall sound as well as comfort. The only downside to this is there are so many options out there it can be a challenge to find out what truly pairs well with your set of IEM's. Outside of this, a custom EQ can help tremendously but it can take a long time to get them to exactly where you want.

    • @anthonyharding4380
      @anthonyharding4380 Рік тому +4

      @@sisar7 I think it really depends on the nature of the IEM and what you're aiming to achieve. For example on the budget friendly 7Hz Salnotes Zero I found them lacking a bit in bass and a bit harsh in the upper treble range. I put on a set of FAudio “Instrument +” Premium Silicone Earphone Tips and it both boosted the bass without bloating it and reduced the treble without compromising detail :)

    • @autotropicplaybench1819
      @autotropicplaybench1819 Рік тому +2

      This. While mileage may vary I find that EQing is a challenge to make improvements for IEMs/headphones to still sound natural even as you enhance an aspect of its tuning, and for IEMs I gravitated towards seeking eartips.
      While the general rule of thumb is narrow bore eartips (like Final Audio Type E, TRN, Tanchjim T300B, etc.) will enhance bass presence more, while widebore eartips (like Azla SednaEarfit, Tanchjim T300T, Moondrop's Spring, Acoustune/KBEar/BGVP 07 etc.) will enhance treble more, in practice this still can vary depending on the IEM, the level of insertion and your ear canal. Expect varying performance between eartips, the above ones that I mentioned are what I find to be the most useful personally.

    I have the lites, not as much of a fan but I think the kiwi ears quartets are going to be really great. $110 instead of $250 and with tuneable switches. I have tried many iems across the price spectrum and I’m excited for these. Also with harsh highs try some foam tips since they’ll smooth them out even more. Great video BT!

      I’m looking at these for games likes val and apex. I’ve watched hella videos and I just can’t pull the trigger yet. I saw fresh reviews videos about them and he said that they’re great for gaming but people in the comments and Amazon say otherwise. I use Astro’s currently and when I Eq’d them as close as I could get to the haram curve the sounded soulless and I reverted them. I’m worried that the Eq on the zeros would sound the same. I have IEMs ranging from 20 dollar pairs, to 800 dollars. For gaming and daily use, the Raptgo Hook HBB is my go-to for long gaming sessions. They sit comfortably all day. Imaging and soundstage is surreal on these for gaming. Can't count how many times I've thought sounds in game have been something falling over in another room or further away. One note though, planar drivers won't have the same physicality to them as heavier hitting dynamic drivers. But the Raptgo comes close.

    Every Time using EarBuds in gaming I feel like it will damage my hearing. With headphones I never have that impression.

      @@Thorfinn-zx9jf Yea like.....bruh....keep your volume low. It's legitimately unhealthy to be listening past the 80db range. Apparently my sweet spot is in the 55 to 60db range with most stuff, 65 to 70 when gaming for important shit.
