I agree with that. IT's an Album that goes under your skin. Crawling gently into your heart. It has a musical concept that unified the all Album. I'm glad she didn't compromise on that. And her musical experiments came to a high achievement but also very communicating. It's one if the most perfect Albums in the 20 century
24 years ago i played this song everyday. I had first landed in America full of hopes and dreams. All alone America was an Alien land with indifferent people. I wound up on the street desperate to die. Now iIm back in my home country listening to this song blessed with a humble job taking care of a beautiful woman and three wonderful children. Like this song there is bliss, joy and love in this dark, sorrowful world.
One of the most beautiful songs ever recorded, I often burst in tears while listening to it. So touching and Bjork's voice is just out of this world here...
I love the interpretation that she is the embodiment of life while he is the opposite. My view of it is more about the girl representing the ideal way of living: without pain, death, corruption. And the male represents realism, the objective, unfeeling way that nature influences living beings. The union of the two is the balance that allows someone to live a full, happy life, knowing that although things are far from perfect, there is still happiness to be found and experienced.
yes I was in love once. she hurt me pretty bad. but when I listen to Bjork I remember how nice loving someone can be, I guess it fills me with hope. thanks Bjork.
Be good, Keep your heart open and vulnerable brother, you will have that love again. Your words hit home. Im still hopeful myself. Best wishes to you friend. Gotta Love Bjork and her Art. She is beautiful as well.
About the album 'Vespertine' #Bjork explained that "the key to what we were looking for was taking something very very very very tiny and magnifying it up to big. And it sorta gave you a sensation that you've been told a secret, the same way as if you see a picture of a cell in the body magnified very big, you get this feeling that you are being trusted for some insight information. And I guess this whole album is very much like this." 'Unison' uses a sample of St Paul's Cathedral Choir singing a segment of Patrick Gowers' Viri Galilaei recorded in 1994.
I LOVE VESPERTINE AND THIS SONG but to be honest i didnt like this video you made. It doesnt fit the Beautifulness of the song. Im sorry. But i must be honest.
Stenheart I respect your opinion. I edit the film footage for the video's, I don't produce the footage. So I am limited in how much I can match the footage with the song but I think this video comes pretty close.
Apparent opposites reconciling and understanding they're not separate but two aspects of the nature of existence, not the same but equal. No more duality, we are ONE. "One hand loves the other so much on me..." I truly loved this. Thank you very very much.
this was my favorite song as a kid and I would watch this video over and over. i haven't listened to it in years, but yesterday i lost one of my dogs. we put flowers inside her grave, and seeing her little, white body curled up so peacefully sparked my memory of this video. she looked just like the puppy here. i miss her

Holy cow! This was the only song that comforted me when I lost my first cat in 2006! I was just looking it up again now my second cat left last week! This is not an official video but you guys have done an official job! Thank you!!
It makes me think of a paradise, but in one where things are not perfect, they have flaws, they are not eternal, they may not be beautiful, and in any case, that they achieve their beauty is due to what we do to build that world that we inhabit... A WORK OF ART MADE VIDEO
This video makes me cry every time I see it. It's so beautiful, it helps me when I have some problems with my partner... Reminds you about no matter how different you are, there's always someone there for you.
You're most welcome! And you weren't being silly, the visuals match up so well with the song that if I had not edited the video, I would have thought it was an official video. Especially when Bjork sings "I will have grown my own private branch of this tree" as the character in the film brushes aside a tree branch. With the exception of a few videos where I failed to write down the source of the film that I edited, I write in the video description that the music video was made by editing film and I write the name of the film and the director. Have a nice day : )

Her voice is theatre, unconventional as always, showcasing fragility, childlike naivity yet the under current of stifled rage & despair is ever present! Slightly threatening & sinister yet cute and alluring. She is the icelandic trickster, the viking Loki, the siren in the ocean,She doesn't care much what you think of it,she just feels it & messes with your expectations of a female vocalist.Long live the utterly unique spirit that is Bjork ❤
i’ve always thought listening to bjork’s vespertine was like taking a stroll through the scandinavian forest at night seeing all these beautiful animals and plants, and maybe even aurora borealis if i got lucky. this unofficial video really captures my imagination. good job
I have to say i'm Björk fan for nearly 20 years - and the video in my opinion with that music - is just probably, simple, but most pawerful Björks video ever! Thanx to whoever create this! tears shower cleans my soul each time!
I feel sorry for people who are tone deaf and probably do not get this music. It's got thousand layers as is. But she tops it off by adding bagpipes at 2:49 ... the whole album is out of this world.
This song makes me think of someone so rooted in their own way of thinking and lifestyle, that one day they meet someone who is their polar opposite and realizing they are diff but make them choose to be what they never expected to be. She learned to love someone for their differences. A song like this gives me hope, yet breaks my heart since I've never known this sort of acceptance outside my family.
I feel this represents the understanding, acceptance, and unification of an ancient and necessary occurrence being a part of life, which is the cycle of life and death. We dont want to accept it sometimes, but where we never thought we'd compromise in its acceptance, we must. Unite, do not fight or prolong death (but life itself), embrace whole-heartedly what will bring us to unison. But, before someone cuts my head off, again this is just how I feel about this song. I could be wrong. So please, be civil.
This song and this video to me is a like a play on Vice vs Virtue. And think of that concept in likeness to one's own being. We are complex. There are things about ourselves that we are in comfort with and other things within us that we detest and are constantly unconformable with. And the song suggests we stop blocking off what is so uncomfortable or else we just deny ourselves and our full potential. We must accept our own Vices as we do our virtues and this equation is different for every human being. It takes time, it takes experiences, but it's attainable. We should feel just as comfortable outside our inner shell of comfort as we are within it. Don't know if any of this makes any sense as I am just typing away as it comes. Beautiful song. No one can write songs, masterpieces like Bjork can. Good nite all!
TheCoffeeAddictedWriter good view of her song. I think in some way you are right. It applies to us all being connected to each other too. The give and take and love we can share.
the image of the little girl nested inside the tinest patch of grass & her look - that is me - she is sulking in the water - preserving/ trying to hold onto her ‘light’ which is like the sun.
Thank You ! It makes me happy to know that you hold my channel in such high regard. I try my best to provide the best possible imagery available to compliment Bjork's wonderfully beautiful music.
Damn it, this is so gorgeous! Like many other Bjork songs, it made me tear up. Great job on the video, didn't even realize that it wasn't official. Generally, your choices of visual material to accompany these songs are awe-inspiring! Been on a journey today thanks to these videos. ^_^
OK. after watching this more then a few times here is my interpretation. She is the goddess of life, and he is the god of death. Not what you pictured them to look like isn't it? If you think about it though, it makes sense that they are just kids that don't comprehend the magnitude of their power shaping the world around them. I suppose in this dimension or world whatever have you, they haven't seen any other humans their whole life. So the boy is intrigued seeing someon else of having skin and not just bones. Humans are a community driven species, they need to coexist with each other to have a sort of standard of what is right and wrong. The boy tries to show the girl about death with the puppy, but she becomes very afraid of it, as she is the goddess of life and has only known that until now. When she runs off he tries to chase her but realizes that she is so scared of knowing death that he goes back to his snowy tundra and let her be. After seeing this she overcomes her fear of him, she goes back to him and accepts the reality that there is no life if there is no death. They need each other to become complete, because what is life with no death, and what is death with no life?
Was hearing some DMT Trip stories and in the last one a guy mentioned hearing Heirloom by you. As your name sounded Scandinavian and I like Norse culture I went to hear it and this song appeared right after. Clicked on it and after hearing + seeing the music video I became so emotional that I wanted to comment this. Not gonna explain everything in a UA-cam comment, but, to make it simple, I can find a huge parallelism, metaphorically, with the ex relationship I've had (which ended 2 and a half years ago, and lasted exactly that time as well). I've had my depressive phase right after the breakup, but not long after I did a 180 on my life for the better in many behaviors. The thing is, even though I kinda feel good today, there hasn't been a day that I haven't thought about her. I don't know what the future holds and maybe we are not meant to be together but I have a strong intuition that that's not the case and the paralelles with the video won't end in the separation part. By the way, I saw that you are from Iceland. I went there when I was in the relationship and I told her and showed her how much of a dreamland it is and that I wanted to go there with her one day. Sorry, everyone, for exposing a bit of such a personal story, and lots of love for y'all.
OHH MY GOD!!!!..... This is genious!!!!... The song and the video!!!.... to tears... ^-^ Thank YOU, dearest Björk and you, guys, who made this fantastic video!!!!!!
I'm happy you like the video. The film I used in this music video edit is called "Automne" Directed by Carlos De Carvalho & Aude Danset. I couldn't believe how well this animation matched up with the lyrics. Especially when Bjork sings "I will have grown my own private branch, Of this tree. And as she says tree, the male character moves a branch from a tree to walk through.
@BjorksMusic you are the Queen Mother of my Esoteric world, i dedcated Unison to my wife tonight,as i do all of your music and words to our Babies as well, whom are Crystal children born to Indigos thank you so much for everything you do and continue to do Human kind! we love you dearly!
Beautiful. I wonder if Bjork had a hand in the theme of the video. 9 years ago, I would have turned it off because I would not have understood it. During the pandemic, I studied the philosophies of the Gnostics. From this angle, I understand the theme, and it's stunningly beautiful. "The All" owns all. The good and the bad. The Ying and the Yang. There is nothing to fear. Hugs to Bjork.
!!Depronto abro mis ojos y veo las cosas con ojos de inocencia que linda experiencia Gracias por este video me parece increible encontrar a alguien con afinidades parecidas ha las mias Bonito muy bonito te felicito 💓 valiente
This song and this clip are really really awesome. When watch and listen it to stark break from the Earth. Do not hear any voice arround. Do not take any view of the World. Being leaves you. Really awesome!
To me Verspertine is the best Album from Björk. It is so fragile but wonderful and magical. Like Björk herself.
I think it’s her best album too. Homogenic is the second best.
björk aint fragile hunny! some of yall aint seen that vid of her beating the shit out of that reporter and it shows.
She is ambivalent, she is rude as cute quiet flower
I agree with that. IT's an Album that goes under your skin. Crawling gently into your heart. It has a musical concept that unified the all Album. I'm glad she didn't compromise on that. And her musical experiments came to a high achievement but also very communicating. It's one if the most perfect Albums in the 20 century
Björk isn't fragile lol

Your comment is so touching, the band Morcheeba said it best "The music that we hear is always standing near to feed us."
HeyJaquieWay Iv loved this song since it came out and I feel it too about my love we are different yet our love is powerful it’s twins ⚡️💛
Thank oddness for Byork!!! What awesome talent and great perception 🐕 love it, thank you
To be honest, the music videos you've posted are some of the most beautiful short films/music videos I have ever seen.
Thank You so much, your comment means a lot to me.
This is the most beautiful music video I have ever seen.
Unison has been a favourite of mine since Vespertine was released, but today is the first time I've seen the video. Just exquisite!
I'm happy you like the video. This is not an official video, this video was made from editing a short film, it's listed in the video description.
Silly me! It is gorgeous nonetheless, well done! I've watched lots of these in the last few days. Thank you!
You're most welcome! And you weren't being silly, the visuals match up so well with the song that if I had not edited the video, I would have thought it was an official video. Her voice is theatre, unconventional as always, showcasing fragility, childlike naivity yet the under current of stifled rage & despair is ever present! I have been in love with this song for years, I just now found this video and it's amazing! Powerful, just like the music! Well done!
Thank You David ! I'm very happy you like the video : )
A voice is gifted and talented and it's livelihood is out of the world
Bjork es un portento de la naturaleza. En un cuerpo tan pequeño tantísima sensibilidad y musicalidad. Voz desgarradora y con un sentimiento sin igual
Y un directo que flipas
I feel sorry for people who are tone deaf and probably do not get this music. It's got thousand layers as is. But she tops it off by adding bagpipes at 2:49 ... the whole album is out of this world.
esta chica es una cantante con una voz que alucinas,... soy fiel seguidor de ella desde hace su tiempo,..
Björk - Unison
This is incredibly beautiful. Truly moving. Now it's added to my favorite animated music videos list.
I'm happy you like the video :)
This song makes me think of someone so rooted in their own way of thinking and lifestyle, that one day they meet someone who is their polar opposite and realizing they are diff but make them choose to be what they never expected to be. This song tears me down to pieces
Прекрасное видео. Давно не видел таких шикарных видеоклипов.
спасибо :)
OK. after watching this more then a few times here is my interpretation.
Beautiful imterpretation! Thank you for sharing!! =)
I thought it was just about unrequited love.
This has a very special place in my heart. It's beautiful. It really inspired me to try write similar music at the time.

Goosebumps, Damn I love this Song!!!!
You're most Welcome Will, I'm glad you think the video would bring a smile to Bjork's face and I'm also glad it brought a smile to your face.
So beautiful x love it x love you Bjork xx

This is not Bjork's official UA-cam channel. Love and Light :)
well this made me cry - its so beautiful!
It's wonderful😍
Best song from her

I think it's every artist's goal to have the listener see themselves in the music/artwork. I saw myself in this, too.
This song and this clip are really really awesome. When watch and listen it to stark break from the Earth. Do not hear any voice arround. Do not take any view of the World. Being leaves you. Really awesome!
One of those songs that I'd love to eventually be able to enjoy without thinking of the past
This song is timeless
i will walk down the aisle to this
