We're definitely not slowing down anytime soon! Thanks so much for taking the time to review the Long Ranger in .308! Hopefully, we'll be seeing a lot of these out in the woods and fields for the 2019 deer season.
Try to make one like this but in 20 or 12 gauge for slugs for us people in restricted placed like southern michigan
@@damascusthecat7028 A slug gun is definitely on our radar. Ideally, we're going to have something for every single hunter in the U.S., no matter the restriction.
@@HenryUSA thanks for replying so fast
What about a long ranger in 7.62x39?
@@HenryUSA a henry in 450 bushmaster would be awesome for us michiganders!
I loved my Long Ranger in .308 WIn so much that I transferred ownership to my son at Christmas. His son harvested his first deer using it with a perfect boiler room shot at 100 yards a few days ago! I could not be more proud of my son, grandson and Henry Repeating Arms.
Awesome! I'm sure you're a proud grandpa!
How do you "transfer ownership"? Is this just a way to say you gave it to him or is there some other process you have to follow here you Live? Just curious
An FFL holder can do the transfer. In this case, Mr. Corbin would be shown as the person the FFL received the gun from. His grandson will fill out a Form 4473 and, presuming a successful background check, the gun is now transferred to his grandson. Not always required but does create a paper trail if ownership is ever questioned.
@@rjm158 fuck that i wouldn't do that in a million years I wouldnt want the gov knowing about a family heirloom fuck em.
In Pennsylvania, you don't need to do a transfer if you give your gun to a direct family member and they're legally allowed to own a firearm.
All my buddies/coworkers are into precision shooting with bolt guns. They almost had me sold, but I remembered the Henry Long Ranger. Time for this cowboy to mount up and show them the modern levergun is ready to hustle!
The answer you’re looking for is “both” my friend...get both...always get both...
Love the Henry’s that I own. Looks like I’ll be adding another to the collection.
That was a good review I will be doing an article soon on the 6.5 Creedmoor in the Long Ranger and this review paved the way for what I can expect.
Reminds me of the Browning BLR. Very funny, I was going to write the company suggesting they do a rifle like this. Great minds think alike I guess. But a 6.5 creedmore barrel is needed in the mix. I love my Winchester model 88 in 308, the first rotating bolt lever action rifle.
Good to see a vid from you and a smile on your face. Hope we get some more!
As always, an outstanding video. I can’t ever get enough of your content!
Thanks so much!
Always happy to see more TWANGnBANG
videos :D
You made a belever out of me
I seee what you did there. 😬
Hey TWANGnBANG, really enjoy your videos. You are always happy and that passes on to your viewers. Let's be honest here, guns are man toys we love and I'm just tired of everything has to be tactical now days. Watching your reviews is always like watching a kid on Christmas morning. keep up the good work man!
I want a 7/8 scale version of this rifle chambered in 7.62-39. Cheap to shoot with surplus but you could always buy/custom load accurate ammo. Maybe even a higher cap magazine?
Wow, you have such great energy and it makes the video more fun to watch! Keep the good work going!
Thank you so much!
Very well done video, henry’s come a long ways, made a lot of smart move from their copy of the 336 to the copy of the BLR, I wish that make a copy of the 1886, my favorite lever actions are all top eject, but I do have a BLR so I know that that’s a good action, keep up the good work
An all-weather version would be awesome.
Henry said they are probably gonna do one.
yes, a real one, not like the AWR, one with the barrel chromed, too
I’ve never understood “all weather” rifles. I’ve see and shot so many old rifles that had vent used in incliment weather for decades with plain blued steel and wood stocks. Aside from usual wear and tear they were in great shape. I think all guns are all weather.
Agreed! I totally dig the rifle but definitely would want it in an all weather package!
I want this rifle in the sighted version. I saw one in .223 without sights that had unbelievably beautiful walnut!
Fantastic series of rifle. Impressive accuracy.
It's great to see this in action. I have a .22 and .357 mag levers and will purchase the Long Ranger in 243 win for longer distance pests here in Aus. Love the mud splatter on the target. Great review.
I love my Henry 357 mag big boy...the 10 round capacity, its a fun riffle to shoot its plenty for hogs and deer but when hunting I have my go 2 riffles, but the Henry is one of my favorite guns I own...
Was on the fence with these guns, but i am definitely gonna pick one of these up.
I already own a couple of Henry rifles. One is 17 HMR and the other is the all weather 44 magnum. Both very well made, exceptional fit and finish on both of them. Now I'm seriously considering a 3rd Henry. Just might need a Henry Long Range in 308 to compete with my Remington model 783 chambered in 6.5 creedmoor.
That is one sweet looking Henry rifle. I really like the walnut stock and fore arm.
Very good video. Very nice shooting. Keep the reviews coming!
I certainly agree with you about the .308 vs. the .30/30. My favorite .30/30's are a single shot H&R Handi Rifle and a single action BFR. Neither of them have a problem with pointed bullets.
I have one in .223 and use it for hunting.
Love it!
Pretty cool of Heny to come out with such a design. I had written them off previously.
Why weren't you a fan of Henry?
The best review I has watched on the Henry long ranger. I want one bad👍
Heard the other day they were making one in 6.5 Creedmor...... Thanks Henry now i gotta go buy one and a nice scope! Thanks Henry
Great review I want 1 luv Henry guns so smooth I do own the brass 357 Mag I hope to order the 6.5 creedmore soon.
Great information video, thank you.
Always nice to see happy smiling laughing. Love the reloading comments. Did they ever get the trigger pull down a bit now that it's 2022? Is that correct you can't not adjust it
Thank you for making awesome content. Keep up the good work.
Thanks so much, Steven!
This gun is a beauty. Good vid. Thank you
And now available in 6.5 Creedmor
That's what I'm talking about 😁
@Robert Ross I think this will be my first lever gun
6.5 in action: ua-cam.com/video/aPet65pqiXM/v-deo.html
@@TheScott2theextreme it was mine. Havent had a chance to shoot it yet tho
Threaded barrel? If so I might care.
Leeever gun , love your vids man .
I've always been a bolt gun guy but the Long Ranger may change my thinking. A lever gun for varmints? Cool!
Nice lever design. My Brother got the single shot Henry in .308, we shot it a bit. Looking forward to him getting a scope on it, so we can shoot better ammo, and at longer ranges. Still, shot well with irons at 100 yards. He got the single shot for $400 out the door.
It literally looks like a copy of a BLR with some minor changes. The magazine especially looks exactly the same with the only exception being the flat base.
If that's the case it should be a damn sweet shooting rifle. I have a BLR in 308 that will stack four rounds inside a MOA at 100 yards if I do my bit.
Yes - a Browning BLR has a rack & pinion operating system, with the underside of the bolt serving as the rack. It has a 6-lug, rotating bolt that engages with a barrel extension instead of locking up in the receiver (just like an AR). The BLR does not have a free floated barrel though.
Talking as if this is new is a bit silly. Sako introduced their Finnwolf sometime in the 1950s using a rack & pinion action, and they switched to bolt lugs engaging with the barrel a few years after introduction.
Happy New Year Cameron!! Henry messed me up bye coming out with several New rifles in the last month and a half. 6.5 creedmore just came out. Plus 6 other Long Ranger rifles in 223,243,308. T he new engraved are beautiful and the new wildlife edition is too die for!! I thought I was caught up for awhile. Well who needs a savings account anyway. Rich
So I’ve been wanting Henry lever action for some time. I’ve been really wanting the 357 mag one to compliment my Ruger GP 100 for sometime now. However after seeing a few videos on this and checking one out for myself it makes me almost consider this though my Savage FCP-SR would be jealous lol
I'm currently in the same predicament.
It's like the BLR. Hopefully they'll come out with a take-down version. A laminated stock would be nice. I don't think that would add too much weight.
Thanks!
Single load on top of the magazine? Ohhhh.. No!!! You had to give me that information. Great. Now I have to have one. OMG! I think it’s worse than that! I feel a burning need for all three. Now see what you’ve done? I’ll be up half the night counting my pinto beans, working on a voodoo budget and eyeballing the family heirlooms I could probably live without. But seriously ,Henry is “in the groove” That gun is awesome.
From what I see ,I really like that long range in 308.
My wife bought me a bigboy in 44 mag my first Henry, for Christmas,so no longrange for now.
If Henry makes a "all Weather version" in the same coating as their other levers, I'm there with money in hand.
I'm definitely buying one of these, it's high up on my list of guns to buy in 2019!
Did you get it?
@@HalfbreedTrini Not yet. Still working my way through the list. 2021 looks good though!
The way he said lever messed with my head but good video dude
I would love to see the .223 cal. version of this one. I'll be in the market for another .223 soon, and I do like Henry rifles.
Reg Sparkes , it is available
Oh man Ive been lookin for somethin just like this. Thanks!
Thanks for watching!
I own a couple Henry lever guns, guess I need to try out the leever guns 😂
Good to see you having so much fun. I already have two Henry's and I'm seriously coveting the Long Ranger in 6.5 Creedmoor.
Very glad to see another Henry review from you! :) Hoping for one on the .41 Mag....? :)
That mud splash is cool!
I actually have a 327 Federal in the safe waiting on ammo.
@@TWANGnBANG Cool! I keep looking for both of those around here.. no luck so far. Can't wait to see yours :)
You got your wish
My .35 Rem with hornady lever evolution 200 grain can make that at 200 yards but have shooting this rifle since my dad had it I am 53 now , I do like the look of the rifle you have here
always wanted a Henry this might be the one.
I kinda like it, but will keep my Blr light weight stainless in 7mm-08. I like the fact that the Browning BLR offers long and short action and magnum offerings in both. I am seriously considering a lightweight 7mm rem. Mag. in stainless to match the one I have. Thanks for the video!!!
Henry had made one for years it's called the all weather and something nobody else does it and some other lever action rifles come in 15 round reapers but we got 3 of the all weather in 45-70 15 round reapers
That's a cool rig!
Interesting Indeed!!! 😀
Great video!!
Morning coffee and twang and bang great way to start the day Its a very nice looking rifle.
Now this is awesome!
Every time I watch one of these long ranger videos, it grabs me more
Performance wise ,,
For me a 300 savage, and marlin mxlr 308,,, do the same thing,,,
I will acknowledge that the 308 has more variation in factory loadings ,,,
In real life, 140 grain mxlr
150 grain. Savage
160 grain mxlr
And 168 grain savage
For that size hole really makes things simple....
Great video on the long ranger...
Buddy of mine shot a group like that with a Longranger in 243. Pretty impressive.
I love my .308 ranger. But alas I don’t use it hunting it just looks to dang sweet.
All the Henrys are great guns. The long ranger is a full five star rifle. Fit and finish, action, balance, lockup, reliability, accuracy, adaptability to scope and bipod all excellent. Henry service when required has a great reputation. And Made In the USA!
If I hadn't retired early I would own at least one more Henry. But owning the 223 and the 22 carbine is sweet.
Love that rifle
Great video 👍
Woah! A box mag on a _Henry_ ? I hesitated playing this video. lol Having two already (in .22 and .357) , this one would be a great addition to the mini collection, and the $'s just aren't here right now. : ) Thanks for the video. 👍
Thank you, man!
Great Vid, Thanx!
I kinda want a version with a threaded barrel and a heavier barrel.
Also a .223 with a 1-7 or 1-8 twist.
Today is December 5, 2020. You cannot find the 223 caliber long ranger anywhere. And before they were out of stock the prices were up 30%.
Browning BLR? Stacked magazine, free float barrel, heavy duty bolt..... hmmmm
Love to a comparo!
Browning made in Japan....So even if it's a copy, it's now made in the USA
Great job Henry!
If Henry would make a threaded barrel, or take down threaded barrel I might care.
BLR can shoot the 7mm WSM... That is how well it's made. And still use the short cam action lever design. Which I like over the long action cam.
Now thay need to build a 7m-08 Rematinogn
Beautiful lever gun.
Thanks for the video
Thanks for watching, Thomas!
I already have the golden boy in 44 mag. If money was not an issue, I would also buy a long ranger in 308, a .22, and a 12 gauge single shot. It is just quality. And the warranty is the best.
Great. Now, I want one.
I believe it is now available in 6.5 creedmoore now, at least 22plinkster had one for his hunting trip.
Leever or lever??? 🤣🤣🤣
Don't I know you from somewhere? HA
Lever, please! Brits would say leever.
@@nedrain9044 A western Canadian sticking his hand up too!
Lever in the north, Leever in the south.☺
Short e so... lever not leever
So first Browning BLR released in the 1960s ish. Model 81 BLR Pretty much the same thing the shown Henry rifle is. So, why not do a comparison? A patent expires in 20 years so, wonder why it took Henry so long to copy design?
Henry doesn't rush things! It shows in the final product!
There is a very detailed review and comparison of both available online. The conclusion was that the Long Ranger is slightly more up-to-date, though they are both very similar in performance. Specifically, the Henry’s trigger and lever are much smoother.
Which is why Winchester and Henry were the riffles of choice in the old west and they won the west
I have no problem shooting the Long Ranger with a Bipod and it’s the Softest shooting .308 I think I’ve ever shot. Next up on my purchase list is one in 6.5CM
I'll take a stainless steel one in .35 Whelen for large and dangerous game. Thanks for sharing.
Such a cool gun, I definitely would buy it if they made a threaded barrel version!
Just get it threaded.
Very much look like browning BLR , I hope to see a comparison between them
What a nice rifle. Only thing I don't like is the finish on the receiver, looks like thick matt paint?
Now they just need a long action version...
They need to make 10 round mags for this beauty so it can be marketed as the ultimate scout rifle! And sell a version with polymer furniture so that it's anyweather compatible too!
The Browning BLR lever-action rifle manufactured by Browning Arms Company was first. I heard it had a crappy trigger. I hope Henry upgraded.
Cool and fun
I would LOVE to see one in 257rob!!!
Definitely will consider this rifle, but a few red flags, 7 lbs before the scope is a bit heavy for a hunting rifle, and for hunting you want it to be accurate off a biped, rather than bags.
WOW THAT NICE
Leeeever action ;) lotsa love brothers!
Wondering if anyone tried to “Scout Rifle” a Henry Long Ranger w/a barrel chop to 16.25” that would be my “Scout Rifle” project in a 5.56x45NATO.
This is my new dream gun. If I could find it for $800 or less (I'd still have to save up for it), that'd be the sprinkles on the icing on the cake.
Now that's innovation.
How long is the mag?
Now let's see one of the single shots!
I want one sooooo bad, to go with my Golden Boy, but I want the Lever gun not the leaver gun!
Wow, wow, wow!
Anxiously awaiting the 6.5 creed moor chambering
I like these but would like the option of a stock like the Browning BLR.
Can you top off the mag while it is still in the gun? I would buy one if they made 10 round 223 mags.
Henry what about a 270 cal with a color case hardened receiver?
