She's definitely the character who's arc I'm most excited for in Season 3. She has so much awesome rich history intertwined with the galaxy's most important heroes.
This was a fantastic interview! To see the love this actress has for her character and the way you gave her the freedom and respect to express her love for her character and give us as viewers more insight into how she'll change and grow is great. It's hard for me personally to see Bo in a role other than semi-antagonist so I'm really looking forward to watching this season and getting a potentially different view. I hope I come to like her if for no other reason than it's obvious Katee loves her, and I feel bad disliking a character the actor(ess) loves that much. Thanks for sharing this with us. :)
Well in the Clone Wars and Rebels Bo-Katan is more good. She's not purely good, she's a complex character.
It was the perfect casting. You can see how much she respects her character, bakes it serious and respects the franchise as a whole.
@@ToonRaider She is a trash-tier pseudocharacter, not a complex character. Don´t confuse trash writing for complexity. There is nothing complex about a VILLAIN whose atrocities keep being swept under the rug and the plot bends around her into a triple pretzel and she keeps failing upwards and gets praised by everyone instead of paying for her atrocities.
Garbage evil Mary Sue "character", awful "actress" with no range, another ruined show and the final nail in the coffin of Star Wars.
@@akivaplutno She has no respect for the franchise. She cares only about shoehorning herself into the spotlight and parasiting on the achievements of Pedro and his stunt doubles. Nobody asked for that garbage evil Mary Sue stealing everything from Mando through lies and manipulations. Boo is as evil as Palpatine. Absolutely irredeemable.
She loves an absolute monster with no redeeming qualities, which makes her an awful, narcissistic person. I have no sympathy for entitled privileged Hollyweirdos who identify with terrible, evil characters just because they play them. I have infinitely more respect for those who can acknowledge their role is trash but they need to work, like Pattinson who hates Twilight and the sparkling vampire he played in it.
It's pretty cool that she got to play bo katan in both clone wars and Mandalorian
It's extremely fortunate that BoKatan was modeled to look like her to begin with.
I agree
I love Katie for taking this role and embracing the nerddom. Thanks Katie lol We appreciate you talking nerdy to us. Give this woman an Oscar after this Season! We know it’s gonna be awesome!
"The Nerddom", bro she IS Starbuck...
I can't wait to see how much they delve into Mandalorian culture! With Great Houses, Clans as vassals etc, it's very medieval and makes the Mandalorians so interesting. It's also rich in storytelling potential - a new show set in Mandalore's past anyone?
She is so awesome the fact she in both animated and live action
She is the voice???
@@shumayelkhan8154 yeah she originally voiced her In clone wars and rebels
@@snarkbark2714 she is also the voice of Bitch Puddin on Robot Chicken!!
Yes I realize she basically started mentioning all the episodes at the end saying the whole show in general is awesome but when she was asked her favorite episode her first instinct was to say episode 5…. So I got my eyes on March 29th😎
My birthday 🤩
Retroactively watched the Clone Wars and Rebels after accidentally falling into the Mandalorian rabbit hole recently. Binged everything in a couple of months. And all I’ve got to say is how glad I am to become familiar with Sackhoff’s work and her care for this role and Dave Filoni’s take on the Star Wars in general. The people who bring these storylines and performances to the viewers are creating something very powerful and beautiful. Yeah, it’s just a show, but I’d argue as a GenXer that Episodes IV-VI were more influential on me and many others growing up than going to church or any other attempts to influence us at the institutional level. Perhaps I take this all too seriously but watching Bo’s evolution from mocking a placard at the Living Waters to humbly asking the Armorer for guidance after seeing what she saw underwater was profound. And I get the sense this crew gets this, beyond getting their paycheck 😊
Katee's smile is so wonderful, I don't think I've ever seen Bo smile enough to even show teeth. I hope there will be some moment that is joyous enough for Bo-Katan to smile with the full joy that Katee brings.
She should have been Captain Marvel!
That is a fantastic interview!
I have spoken
I think it's really interesting that Bo is the only character who refers to Din & Grogu as father & son.
Couldn't have picked a better actress to play this iconic character!
Bo Katan is bad ass! I love her character. I'm so glad they are exploring her character more and giving her a lot more airtime.
Great interview by the way!
The one question I hope they answer in this season is, how did Bo Katan lose the Darksaber and have it end up with Moff Gideon. We know the Clans supported Bo as Mandalore when she first took the position with the Darksaber, as well as how the Protectors and Sabine Wren also played a big part. I wonder if we'll see Fenn Rau or Sabine (since we know she isn't with Ahsoka off looking for Ezra). Looking forward to having Katee back in the role she was made to play.
I think I figured out the answer
5 was the most recent as of now it was truly amazing
Katee Sackhoff is a very fine wine that has aged well, and will always be Starbuck to me from Battlestar Galactica.
I love her !!! 💙💫
So... Episodes... 👀
2 REALLY FUN
3 AWESOME TOO
5* REALLY REALLY LOVE ⭐
6 IS GONNA BE GREAT
7 AND REALLY LOVE
8 IS EPIC !
Bo katan is super but katiee is awesome... Who choise Katie for Bo Katan, tnx. Million times tnx..
Watched the Mandalorian last night, and was so stoked .
she is so sweet in person, met her last year she was so welcoming!
Katy has evolved from the Battlestar Galactica role into one of the most powerful and important character actresses in the franchise. She's the new Carrie ❤
I think this arc she will convince Din to accept his destiny to unite all Mandalore again and they will rule together as a power couple =))) And they got baby Jedi/Mando to raise, Grogu will be the greatest Force Sensitive Mando ever live =)))
This was so awesome and YES bring back Darth Maul!!!
Someone edited this interview on twitter to remove the "dont" think of him as a fly doesnt want him around 🙄 uhg glad I'm watching the full version
Great actress the show is so Lucky to have her
Katee is absolutely awesome.
After episode 3 i can't wait to see more of her
She is amazing! I wish they had used her better in BSG but so glad she is crushing it!
Emmy bound actor. Glad she’s getting the exposure she deserves.
God I love Katee! ❤️ She is so good in every role she takes and Bo is no exception. She shows she actually cares about the lore, the character and doing right by the fans. I'd say she's this generations Sigourney Weaver. An actual believable strong independent woman. Intelligent and capable and I can accept her kicking ass! Love ya, Katee. 😘 Never change.
'Any time a leader brings their ego into it, that is not good.' Words for our time.
Managers and leaders are supposed to manage or lead and that may require confidence, but there are limits. Sad that so few seem to accept that any kind of limits to power these days.
Katie was awesome in Longmire and she is awesome in The Mandalorian.
So this is my theory: after Kylo Ren killed everyone in the Temple, the remaining force uses who were spread out in the galaxy felt it, and they felt the Luke was in a really bad place. Ahsoka, Ezra and probably others rallied to Luke and with Yoda and Obi-Wan they decided they should keep a distance from the situation and focus on finally training Grogu, who at that time was already one of the leaders of New Mandalore (maybe as Mandalore?). Grogu new it was time, but his training had to be kept a secret. They could not risk losing to Kylo Ren. During these years of training, Luke starts a family with an old secret flame, Mara Jade. He had to keep the family a secret as well because he new Kylo Ren would be coming after them first. And the priority was training Grogu. However, he felt Rey's awakening and Grogu wasn't ready yet. So it was a pleasant surprise, and also it would allow the rest of the Jedi to be plan B. Once he realized how capable Rey was, and knowing how much she had yet to learn about herself, Luke decided to let her stay in the frontline with his sister training her. He didn't tell Rey or anybody else about Grogu, the other Jedi and his family because he couldn't risk Palpatine or Kylo extracting that information. The Mandalorian will end with Grandmaster Mandalore Grogu telling his tales to a bunch of younglings and foundlings, and connecting the story with Rey's, who trained with him (maybe under him?) after The Rise of Skywalker.
NOTHING MAKES ME MORE MAD THAN HAVING TO WAIT AGES TO WATCH A FULL SEASON, while the cast and crew can see it whenever the fuck they want.
“The three of us” ~ shoooooo…she’s thinking of them as a unit of three but trying NOT to spoil the season. 😂
Bo Katan has saved Din's life FOUR times now.
It is all rather ironic and a bit sad.
Katee Sackhoff does a really good job of portraying her as complicated. BIG ego, BIG.
Will lie to and use people, but also has good qualities, which, we hope, will be drawn out of her more and prevail. She isn't afraid of showing the less attractive side - not all actors are willing to do that. But even while showing Bo's ego and sullenness, she keeps us interested in Bo and wanting the best for her.
Plus...Katee Sackhoff has one of the best walks. How she holds herself, her posture, is so distinctive and so regal. It was the same on Longmire.
I like Bo Katan's look (hair and face) this S3; she looks more sharp and elegant. I hope she doesn't screw Din over some weapon, though.
She is thinking back to the kiss you can tell.
Katie’s natural hair would have been just fine for Bo. In Rebels her style to real life was very similar minus the color.
she is so lovely
Should she challenge din for the dark saberand if shes is hurting din Grogu would intervene and choke her. Just saying
So in love of her.... Christ.
I’m really glad she wasn’t blacklisted after Another Life. One of the worst shows on Netflix. The concept was good but it was very poorly executed. Katees performance was the only good thing but you could tell she wasn’t giving it her best, I felt like she knew that show was gonna be a disaster. Knowing hollywood I was afraid they were gonna blacklist her. But thankfully she got this role and she freaking killed it! Loved her performance, I hope she gets better roles after this.
I love katee you are awesom and i love Bo ‘ Karan but i dont think she is the right mandalore. I’m not sure any of them are right now.
Judging by Katee saying that Episode 8 is epic, I think that might be the episode Peter Ramsey will be directing
Famuyiwa is directing 1, 7 and 8
Oh, I thought Peter Ramsey (Director of Spider Verse) was directing it
She’s gorgeous
little Jedi Grogu will end up with da darksaber
I would marry her immediately, no matter if she could be my mother
5:50
Mando s3 is gonna be badass
thats Din s little buddy ...
Who is here after season 3 ep 1
Why Bo-Katan doesn't ever age? From the Clone Wars all the way to the Mandalorian? Is it at least 40 years?
The empire lasted like 20 years. Bo -Katan was like 20 during the Clone Wars. So during the mandalorian she is about 50 years old. Not that unbeliavble to look like her at that age.
@@v0lmari198 Humans also have an average lifespan of 100-120 years in Star Wars with force sensetive individuals living upto 200.
Hope she trained for her action scenes if she thinks that saber is hers. Gotta earn it
if Bo Katan gets the darksaber again im fucking done with star wars
I feel your pain and I´m done too. My version of S3 where that sociopathic, narcissistic monster died by the darksaber she wanted so much and Din became the Mandlaore is the real canon to me.
And this plank of wood who is so proud of herself for ruining the show is on my boycott list forever.
Din is the real Mandalore and S3 is not canon.
Not a fan of Bo-Tan(?) ..AT ALL... sorry folks
I will laugh it sucks
Bro isn't even a Fan
@@joel5135 i am bro EU books have Prequels watch every Rebel Season plus clone wars older then you in my 40s
@@MasterChris666 the absolute majority of fans love mandalorian. Who the hell cares about your opinion that's in the minority?
We are just hours away from the premiere 🥲
