I absolutely love how he covers for his buddy with his girl finding the speed dating card but then has his fun with insulting her in front of him with him being unable to do anything about it because he’s covering for him. It’s like “ok I’ll take the wrap but my price is I get to say whatever I want” lol

I also like it because it’s a little character development for Andy. It shows he’s actually fitting in and becoming friends with his coworkers. They’ve been having friendly fun putting him in awkward spots and he’s finally comfortable enough to do it back to them. That’s how I like to see it, plus it is just funny lol

The director cut of this movie is hilarious. They can’t make a movie like this today. Tropic Thunder was the last of these type of films. I think it all ties back to the advent of smart phones.
There's been a few since this: Bridesmaids, The Hangover (all three came out afterwards.) Knocked Up. But you're right they aren't that common. I guess Adam Sandler and his company had some (like Grown-Ups) in the 2010s.
