    This is a truly magnificent performance by one of the few great living masters of Tai Chi today. If he's 70 and can move like this, then he clearly has mastered something few of us could ever aspire to achieve. At least watching this performance will make some of us try to improve more each day. Thank you for posting this.

    oh. magnifico. I am watchng it and i can feel my Chi strongly and to bring it all to perfection at the end of the video Thunder is rolling outside. It is so encouraging for me since i am only at the very beginning of learning chen style. I started Tai chi at the age of 61 and i do daily practice of QIdong also. Learned the 24 yang and just now my master, which I only see for 3 times every 3 months is beginning to teach me chen. The only thing I regret is that i did not start practicing 50 years ago.. but everything comes when you are ready. tyvm for this encouraging and beautiful demonstration.

    Admire the absorption....interest.....keeness......of the onlookers ...... Not many nations can have people who appreciate and need the good things in life. Rather it is the converse ; people are keen about the self destructive habits of wantoness......liberalism.....ease....material success....

    All this calm flow and then one sees like it was all prepared the release in a series of Fajin. It really is a part of the philosophy of Taichi to build up it seems. "Chi growing like a drum." - As one says.

    This is not an MMA art it's not WuShu or Shaoling KungFu that's different. TaiChi still holds many benefits for both the body and the mind. Comparing taichi with mma it's like comparing yoga with ice skating

    • @kueapel911
      @kueapel911 4 роки тому +2

      yea, just like comparing proper marketing technique and a multi level marketing. Both entirely different thing cause one works and good for the everyone, while other is a scam and works for those on top benefiting from other people thinking it's a real marketing.

    The problem with this as an instruction video is that the point of view keeps changing with the camera angles. It is better to learn from one angle than to keep editing rapidly, which is more of a cinematic technique but confuses people trying to learn.

    I’m looking for tutorials on UA-cam because my tai chi teacher doesn’t always have time to teach all of a form. Now that I’m looking up Chen tai chi, his routine seems completely different. It starts with some kind of punching movement as opposed to what this guy did in the video.

      I too am having difficulty finding the simplified 24 Chen style form I'm being taught at the Taoist Institute of Studies in Seattle. It starts with a raising motion, a pushing motion, a pulling motion, and then a sinking motion, before the second move. I cannot find this anywhere on UA-cam. Does anyone know what the style is? I've only had one class but wanted to get more involved before my second class.

      Taichi has always been relatively popular in China. Chen Style is considered the 'original' Taichu, everything else are derivative. That said, Chen style is not even the most popular Taichi style, Yang style is a lot more popular.
