Stacy, a good family friend sent me your reaction video. My dad was Sibby the drummer in the band. And I have to tell you I loved your reaction so much and I felt like it was so on point. I too to this day I get emotional too when I hear it. For many reasons, but especially cuz it makes me think of and miss my Dad and Brad (the singer, my Godfather) so much. Thank you for taking the time to explore new (to you) music, and honoring their memories in such a great way. ROCK ON 🤘🥁❤️
Amazing Talent, your dad and Brad Had.. I’m a Drummer myself, and have always appreciated his approach to rhythm and melodic style of playing he had. I’ve fashioned my style the same way, and really feel the music melody in my playing style as well.. Lost my Dad three years ago, we never know how long we have, be kind, and appreciate every day, and know for certain, your dad never would want you to feel sad, or upset, because he isn’t here. Like how we feel for our own children now.. Circle of Life.. we all will be together someday !! Peace and Love Brother!! Always Loved their music, Always will.. Respect..🫡
You're kidding me!? Wow! This album has been a "family-album" for my mother (RIP), my siblings and I since the late 70's. We've all spread to our sons and daughters as well, ensuring its survival in Northern Jutland at least :). Many Christmas greetings from Denmark!
RIP Brad Delp, one of the greatest rock vocalists ever. Incidentally this song has won numerous polls for best rock song of all time and the story of how Tom Scholz basically created the entire album by himself (except for the vocals) in his basement is legendary. Also, this is '70s rock at its finest. This album was released in 1976 and yes, they were from Boston.
There are some great videos online of how he created the album. Its remarkable that what your listening to is exactly what he recorded in his basement without studio edits. ua-cam.com/video/R1c0Bx_StvE/v-deo.html One fun note. I play guitar and back in the 80s I bought a rockman which sholtz created. It is the greatest guitar equipment I have ever owned.
Several people have mentioned about how Tom Scholtz and Brad Delp created this album in a basement. What's really amazing is that in this time frame the electronics did not exist to do what they wanted to do, so Tom Scholtz invented and built it. Absolutely mind-blowing!
Tom Scholtz did the entire album himself with the exception of a few instruments. Brad was invited afterwards. The record company asked about the band and so Scholtz had musician friends (talented) to join the band. The record company didn’t know that Scholtz gave them the demo tapes.
@@IAMCAVEI've long thought this was a collaboration straight from heaven; the rest of the members were as ideal as they possibly could be and were exactly what Tom needed: talent with stage presence and musicianship.

I was 6 years old when this song came out in 76. The following year as my mom dropped me off at school for third grade, this song was playing, and this is literally the moment the musical part of my brain came online. We were spoiled rotten when it came to music every genre good really good and all the different choices we had… not like these poor kids today hearing the same lose soulless crap sound.

Agreed! These Next-Gen Z's and even some millenials don't have an appreciation for ol' school Rock-n-Roll! Until they actually listen to it! I was pumping out Boston back in the early 80's with by Blaupuck stereo in my Honda Civic back in the day, then the tape player ate my casset tape.. LoL.. Still, all good!
Your Physical Reaction to this was Awesome ... : ) Its Estatic,. I don't give a sh*t what anyone says... my generation had the absolute best ear candy. And this is one of the finest examples of it. Great reaction, as always.
I was a teen in the 80's yet I completely agree. The music from your generation set the standard for all other future generations to follow. In fact... most of the greatest bands of the 80's got their start in the 70's.
This era of rock was the pinnacle. One of my favorite bands and one of my favorite songs and as an 80s baby, I’m always thankful my parents listened to this stuff and exposed me to it. It was just better.

For me just go in order. They’re all incredible so may as well listen to them in the order Boston wanted us to. Just make sure she listens to the whole album. That’s the main thing.
Loved this song when it came out in 1976, and love it today. It has stood the test of time. Great beat, vocals, instrumentals. It's epic. Great reaction. Billy Boy
Funny thing is that this wasn’t recorded by a band at all. This is two people. The singer, and a guy named Tom Scholz, the songwriter, the dude who plays all the instruments on the album, the producer and engineer. You said it sounds precise, and that’s true.Tom was a MIT trained engineer. The band you see on the back cover was added after the record label signed Boston, read Tom. These musicians did add parts to the studio recordings, but primarily all parts were played by Tom and Brad on vocals. Most amazingly at all is that most of the album was recorded in Tom’s basement, which back in those days was virtually impossible to do. Keep going with this album. Just continue through the songs as they’re listed in the running. Really, no one track is vastly better than the others. They’re all incredible, so you may as well listen to them in the order Tom intended.
I came here to say basically what you did. Initially, the "band" was Tom, who spend I think 6 years perfecting the sound and the effects, most of which he created. To get the final sound, all he needed were Brad on vocals (all the harmonizing was with himself), and Sib on drums. Every time she said "the band" I kinda giggled because I know the story. It's true that Tom had to cobble together an actual band to tour, because he couldn't play everything in real time without the tape overdubbing to get the original sound. I kinda feel bad for her because going in blind on Boston is different than just about any other "conventional" band. Once she reads the comments or does some digging on the various WIKI pages, it will be obvious how clueless she was. But that's ok, we can forgive it because she is young and she felt the same impact we did almost 50 years ago when hearing Boston's sound. I think the only track that wasn't done "in the basement" was the last track, which was "hitch a ride".
@@markh.7650 I totally cut her slack. There'd be no reason for her to know any of this stuff from 5 decades ago. She's found the album, that's what matters. And she's in for treat after treat as she works her way through this.
Actually the drums were tracked by Sib Hashian, taking over for Jim Masdea when the label stepped in during recording. The whole story of the albums genesis is insane
Back when albums were king, this one was truly special. Not one bad track. No filler content. Each song was special. And this was their debut album. RIP Brad Delp. Gone way too soon.
Beautiful and 100% on target reaction. Lots of comments and someone may have already mentioned it; but Tom is credited with playing all of the instruments except the drums and I think his melodic bass line gets overlooked because of ALL of what you said. MTAF is a masterpiece and the vocals are unmatched. I just think the bass is such a nice complement to the guitars, vocals, and melody. It could have been tucked away in the mix and he could have "mailed it in" with a very basic bass line but Tom set the bar much higher for himself and the end result is a beautiful arrangement with a bass line that truly provides a warm cozy and emotive "bottom end" that feels like your favorite comfort food on a cold winter's night.
There are very few songs that you can listen to 1000 times and when that 1001st time comes up you still crank it up and listen to it again. This is one of them. That's what makes it a stone cold classic!
Brad Delp's vocals are sublime. He does the lead, backing, and harmonies. He's right there with Freddie and Steve Perry, arguably better because he does it all himself. Wonderful reaction by the way.
The greatest Debut Rock and Roll Band Album EVER! The greatest Rock and Roll Band EVER! The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is a JOKE for not having this Band in.
I love to watch younger generations really dig the music from my high school days. Great fun to watch and proves humanity is not yet lost. Cheers, Stacey!
Tom Scholz, the mastermind behind the band, was a perfectionist when it came to the recording and production. That's why it sounds, as you said, so cohesive. Brad Delp is one of the great singers.
Brad Delp is hands down the most underrated major rock vocalist of all time. Everybody who knows classic rock has heard his voice, and yet he's not in the public consciousness in the same way that Steve Perry and Freddie Mercury are. Thank you for reacting to this song and giving him some well deserved recognition.
Brad was an excellent fit for what Tom wanted to do, but in the pop milieu Steve was the only arena rocker that ultimately mattered and Freddie among the elite male pop singers.
Mickey Thomas is deserving of these accolades as well, though I don’t care for much he sang on. That guy was still doing the Jefferson Starship stuff in the original key and nailing it when our band opened for him about 5 years ago.
I grew up in the 70's and Boston was my all time favorite band still today. Watching your reaction to this track is just internet gold ! The comment below is so true, the whole album is amazing, if you liked it this much, DIVE IN ! They will never disappoint. The arrangements and that fat guitar rhythm and Brad Delp's (RIP) vocals, the drummer is Sib Hashian, he was my inspiration for learning drums. by the way, this album was recorded by the lead guitarist Tom Scholz in his basement at his home and what you hear is mostly him, when he got Brad to sing, he had no band lol, the only way he could get signed was if "the band" could reproduce it live, so he had to go crazy looking for all the other members and teach them the tracks. Scholz was an MIT graduate in electronic engineering and created many of the electronic devices he used to make the sound you hear, this is why it sounds so tight. He was and still is a genius. the rest is history, enjoy.
I love this song and I love your reaction to it. Boston is One of my all time favorite bands. This particular song marked a "before and after". 1977. I was 9yo and my uncles used to love it and some years later I "rediscovered" it while checking some "old" vynil records. Since then, I became a Boston fan forevermore. They got two álbums in the 70s and it was not until 1986 when they released their third LP "Third Stage". After that, almost another decade came for the next álbum. So the story goes. Im now 56 and still remain a loyal fan for the good stuf where real instruments Were played by real musicians to create the greatest music ever... Sorry. Got carried away. Every time I hear 'Hitch a Ride', I tear up. My older sister bought it in '76....and I was only 6 years old. Played it over and over and still love it.
So, Top Shultz was an MIT graduate and found himself working at Polaroid. He says "his words" that he was a terrible employee because he would either show up late or leave early so he could get home to work his electronics and musical talent. All music executives and players were stunned by what Tom created in his basement. A genius. They're live performances sounded much like the album. Incredible. 😎
LOL. There was "NO band" on this track. One wild MIT producer got a vocalist to sing. Not much different from EDM today. Yes. It's a crazy story. Only the last song on the album was the "band".
I love watching people discover this Album\Song for the first time. Agree with previous comments, the entire album is a masterpiece. Your reactions are fun to watch. Glad you are enjoying it!
The reason why you felt so many emotions is because you, like me, inherently know deep down inside, that you've experienced perfection and you were literally touched by source energy itself. To me, Tom Scholz, and Brad Delp, both channeled source energy to create this magnificent masterpiece! And yes, I do cry when I hear this song. It's just so pure and beautiful.
Back in the 70s, I was just learning how to play guitar when this album came out. I immediately fell in love with the sound. At the time, I lived in Boston, and my dad was a mechanical engineer who had gone to MIT. I showed him the album and asked him if he knew an electrical engineer from MIT by the name of Tom Scholtz. He said the name kind of rung a bell. I showed him a picture, and he said, sure, I know this guy. Scholtz had a few effects racks that had just gone into production, so I asked, if there was any way he could contact Scholtz. He said, he'd give it a try. Not only did I get the racks, but Scholtz delivered them to our house one day. It was one of the greatest days of my life. Boston's debut album is one of the best-selling of all time. Great band. Great music.
@Frankincensedjb123 Scholz graduated from MIT with a bachelors and a Masters in Mechanical engineering. What exact year did Tom deliver rack mounted guitar processing gear to your home? Scholz R & D was not formed until 1980. The first device that SRD put on the market was the power soak in 1980. The Rockman did not hit the market until later on in 1982. The first rack mountable Rock Module The Sustainor hit the market in 1986. The Stereo Chorus/Delay was released first in 1986 followed by the Distortion Generator in 1987. History is very clear that Scholz R and D Rack mounted gear did not hit the market until 1986.
When you're tired and thinking cold, do you hide in your music, forget the day, and dream of a girl you used to know..... I saw that little smile on your face when you thought about that girl you used to know. So awesome!!
Boston was and still is one of the best and most talented rock bands of all time!!! Bad Delps voice is incomparable!!!! Still listening to them to this day while driving and blasting it!!!!!!@❤❤❤
Absolutely one of the best debut albums. These guys were perfectionists, took them forever in the studio to record, but as you said, you can hear the quality! The guitar player graduated MIT. Fantastic reaction staceyrpg
We lived above our landlord who had a newborn and we used to play this at a loud volume most hours of the day or night. We never got a complaint. ❤❤ You described life in the 70’s as if you’d been there right along with us.
I heard Boston live in the late '70s. Their talent, as individuals and as a group, yes. That was amazing. But there was something else, too. They had a warmth and friendliness that emanated from the stage and touched everyone in the audience. It seemed like they loved making music and loved making it for all of us listening. They were so giving and generous. It was great to listen to their playing, and it was beautiful to be part of that atmosphere.
That whole album, both sides will knock your socks off accuracy software, a fantastic band the harmonizing the instrumentals were out of this world. They were an incredible band and that was the first concert that I ever went to in Buffalo, New York. Cheap Trick was on first and then came Boston, and when the lights came on. There was a cloud of the entire stadium from you know what's smoking? And it was incredible. That's the first concert that I ever went to with my brother and sisters. And a friend and his sister from high school and it was really an incredible concert
Watching younger people discover and love and appreciate the music I grew up on just makes this old man's heart so happy. Not to take anything away from today's music but with all the techno and autotune it seems like there no more pure singers out there like the we had in the 60s, 70s, and early 80's.
Wow, love your reaction as always. You have literally just listened to the first Boston song ever. This debut album is widely considered to be perhaps the best in rock music history. And so you would be perfectly poised, like I've seen several reactors do, to work your way through the album in sequence, so many hits, everything on it is so good. I saw them when I was in junior high, and it was in a smaller indoor arena and I think it was $7.50 with all the extra taxes and fees, and we all just packed in and it was fantastic. They sounded so good with all the harmonies and just totally rocking out, but still really polished. It was really loud. It was perfect for that.
You state this band blew you away but your reaction blew me away. First time that I recognize a review that captured the very essence of Boston and the depth of the band as we did during its debut. Your reaction is the same as our ours was when it was released. We were as floored as you you were. Exceptional talent will always stand out as exceptional. Thank you for taking time to recognize exceptional creation.
Growing up in the 1970s we had the same feelings when we heard Bostons music. Really enjoyed watching your reaction. I am from Boston and still have the album and still blast it. Never gets old in the summer nights.
Brad Delp in his prime was in a league all his own. Incredible talent that certainly deserved more recognition than he got. My favourite singer of all time followed very closely by Steve Perry. And yes there were so many great singers from that era but Brad was tops. R.I.P Brad. Boston has never been Boston since you left.
This song is lightning in a bottle. It perfectly captures a short, fleeting "mood" from a past time. There will never be a song ever made like this one again. Not even Boston today could make another song like it. It's like a unique audio "photograph". It was made with all WARM analog devices and is something the digital age will never create in the future. It's a one-time, magical, freak-of-nature anomaly.
Thank you Stacy! I am a 70 year old guitarist and watching you discover this band took me right back to the pure joy I felt when first hearing this song!
You know, I've never heard anyone say a bad word about this song. No matter who you are, it just invites you in with a big friendly smile, and it's glorious. Brad Delp had such an astonishing voice and touched so many hearts with his singing. Sadly, he suffered from depression, and in 2007 he took his own life. Such a loss. Another thing: everyone who knew him said he was a great person. Friendly, kind, gentle, down to earth, a regular guy and a great neighbor. (For example, he helped people mow their lawns). When he died, the band's website said "We just lost the nicest guy in rock and roll."
This is my all time favorite song. I love it so much that I wake up every morning to this song. It is my alarm ringtone on my phone - and I have not changed it for 30 plus years, I love it so much, and never get sick of it. It gets me going and gives me energy like nothing else could. BTW, Stacy is soooo fun to watch her reactions! She''s SUCH a babe! Love her energy and joy she is emoting from something that has been so special to me all my life.
Songwriter and guitarist Tom Scholz was an accomplished electrical engineer and built many of the electronic devices used to create their signature sounds on this album. Bands did not sound like this before this album.
The album is considered to be one of the best debut albums ever. The music was written by Tom Sholz. Recorded in his basement, Tom played every instrument except drums (played by Sib Hashian,) and Brad Delp singing all vocals. No cut and paste in those days. All overdubs had to be replayed and resung directly to tape. They became a touring band with the addition of Barry Goudreau guitar and vocals, Fran Sheehan bass. Every track on this album can stand on it's own as a huge hit. Most popular songs for reactors seem to be "Foreplay/Long Time," and "Hitch A Ride." Hope you enjoy your trip down this rabbit hole. Looking forward to sharing your experience.🤘😎❤
For me, this song stands out as the single greatest rock song of all time. The album stands the test of time and will still be played 100 years from now. And let's not forget the incredible album art. What a masterpiece. What a gift.
Just remember that is a 1975-76 song. Just image when people hear that SOUND for the first time! Recorded in the personal studio of the band leader! Just perfect!!!
It's so great to see you feel the same feelings we felt so long age when all this great songs were brand knew I always had a feeling that it was a great time for music lovers an everybody was a music lover then was a big part of life no cell phones are video games get together with friends an listen to music regardless of what was happening music was always in the back ground are the main thing it was a part of your life I think that's why so so many talented people got together in this bands young people not only listened to music it was a big part of life . There was passion an heart because it was so important to our existence on a daily part of us
Great to see younger people appreciate their parents music. Boston was the first concert I ever went to in 1976. I was 13 years old & the arena was filled with this funny smelling blue smoke. Me & my buddy went to an upper level and a bunch of older looking biker dudes knew we were scared - they told us don't worry boys, we'll take care of you - they were great. I still remember the concert and it inspired me to learn to play guitar - I sit here with a PRS on my lap as I type this & don't know if I would have taken up guitar if I never went to that show - that big arena show really had an impact on me - I was wide eyed and mesmerized the whole show. I'm sad that kids today don't have the big arena rock shows all the time like we had back in the day ....
My favorite band ever! Get chills! Saw them in concert in LA and they sounded even better and so clean in person! Simply amazing masterpiece of an epic band! ❤
TY Stacey for reminding me of Boston again. Agreed, amazing song throughout. This was my favorite song through high school late 70s early 80s and is still the best after over 40+ years. Thank you for bringing them back to my attention.
I was a freshman at Arizona State University in 1976. I heard this cut on the campus radio station and immediately went to the local record store, when I asked the guy at the store if they had the album he told me they just got it in and I literally got the first copy out of the box. I’ve been a fan ever since!
Tom Scholz is an amazing feller. He started writing tunes while going to M.I.T. After getting his Masters in mechanical engineering he goes to work at Polaroid while building a home studio. He recorded most the album there and on his initial demo's played all the instruments except the drums and vocals. He built his own custom guitar effect pedals to get the sound he wanted as well. He even had his own line of guitar effects under the name 'Rockman'. Sadly the company failed after 14 years. His pedals are highly valued collectors items now. "Foreplay/Long Time" next perhaps. The instrumental song, "Foreplay" he wrote while still in school at MIT. Cheers.
This is such a genuine reaction to the first time hearing something so amazing… I grew up to these songs, and to see someone’s experience what WE experienced when it was new. Brings back so many memories of growing up during the 70s … pure magic ❤
This was the debut song off of their self-titled debut album. It blew us all away in 1976. The entire album is pure fire with not one "less than" track on the entire album. It was the best-selling rock album of all time until GnR's Appetite for Destruction. I dare you... pick any song, and you will be blown away. Brad Delp, to me, is the best rock vocalist ever and couple that talent with the genius of Tom Scholz.. you had magic. Tom used a guitar with the same qualities of Delp's voice and they were so compatible you could sometimes not tell when Delp's voice faded and the guitar picked up. Again, genius. The bassist and drummer in this band are/were the best in the business. BTW, Brad Delp did all vocals with background just being layered so that is why the harmonies matched the intensity of the lead singer.
Great track. Much as I love “Feelin”,I wish the album cuts were reacted to as well, there’s some absolute gems in there,in fact, the whole bloody album is a 70’s rock masterpiece.

I've never comment on your channel BUT then you said, "This song makes me feel like I'm walking around with my best friend in the 70's,no cellphones or social media & were just singing this song @ the top of our lungs together", &, that there statement took me back to exactly that time & place! (except we weren't walking, we were cruising, while playing air guitars & beating on the dashboard as if it were a bad boy drum kit!) GIRLFRIEND, You nailed that reaction to the wall so perfectly hard, its going to forever be apart of your musical foundation! Thank you for inviting me to join with you for your 1st BOSTON EXPERIENCE! It was awesome! Oh, & your reaction was pretty much our reaction when Boston 1st dropped this bad boy album on us right outta the blue & perfectly on-time! Thanks again for the free ride back to my Junior year in High School! 🤗🙌
I still blast this song on my trucks stereo system like the first time I heard it. A timeless classic that gives great joy to music lovers from years ago to todays youth. Music today just doesn't have that " OH HELL YAH!!" by true artists that didn't use any enhancers to change their sound. It was raw and real. Keep the tunes like this going Stacy!!
Brad Delp was the lead singer. May he rest in Peace. It's nice to see the younger generation looking beyond what they call music today which to me all sounds the same. And they actually will listen to the music of my era and can appreciate it and really still be blown away by what we took for granted every day in my day and age.

I wasn’t born until 89 but I agree the 1970s is the best decade of music.
Hands down the best decade, nothing is even close.
Easily one of the best debut albums ever
Pretty much made by Scholz and Delp by themselves in Scholz's basement.
Yes young lady - thats exactly how we felt back in '76 ..
We were spoiled rotten when it came to music every genre good really good and all the different choices we had… not like these poor kids today hearing the same lose soulless crap sound.
@@FUBAR1986Yup...we were spoiled....rock reached its zenith...started a slow decline...then...fell off a cliff...
This girl knows good music when she hears it.
The music in the 70s was OUT STANDING and the sinners name was Brad Delp
She's doing that Boston slow head bang. :P
@@theodoreritola7641 yes, the sinners name.
IM a sinner so are you. i have been saved by the GRACE of JESUS CHRIST how about you ?

I’ll never get tired of first-time Boston reactions. This whole record will blow your mind.
Fact!
Warms my heart to see new generations enjoying the music I grew up loving.
Mild Electro Shock Therapy. ---- Brings me back to being a Teanage Ski Instructor with a Gorgous Babe Sitting next to me on the Gondola on the Ride up. We were Like Kings -- On a Beautiful Sunny Day. and Music was blaring from the Outdoor Speakers on the Huge Skilift Poles. It was Intense.
Foreplay/Longtime must be next. Actually, you can pick any song off this album. It is one of the greatest, ever. Arguably the best debut album.
You know how good this album was considering it was on the radio constantly for so many years running despite having very long songs!
long time the outro blasts the listener into space... play LOUD
True. 18 in 1976
This era of rock was the pinnacle. One of my favorite bands and one of my favorite songs and as an 80s baby, I’m always thankful my parents listened to this stuff and exposed me to it. It was just better.

"Foreplay, Long Time", next reaction?
Yes please!
For me just go in order. They’re all incredible so may as well listen to them in the order Boston wanted us to. Just make sure she listens to the whole album. That’s the main thing.
Yeah absolutely! 👌
Must.
Side one of their debut album was epic. I wore it out, then switched to a cassette.
Singers name was Brad Delp
@grelch Well said👍🏼
I came here to say basically what you did.
Brad Delp amazing voice!
This album got me kicked out of two apartments in 1977!😂
Now that worth it to lol
I love that !
😂😂
So you are an inconsiderate jerk. Good for you.
LOL
Brad Delp's vocals are sublime. He does the lead, backing, and harmonies. He's right there with Freddie and Steve Perry, arguably better because he does it all himself. Wonderful reaction by the way.
I love this song. It's almost magical. Every time I listen to it, it moves me deep inside and touch my soul.
The greatest Debut Rock and Roll Band Album EVER! The greatest Rock and Roll Band EVER! The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is a JOKE for not having this Band in.
This…. This is the quintessential classic rock song. Every time i hear it, it transports me back to a simpler time.
Peace of Mind is a must.
Boston is so awesome! The lead singer Brad Delp was so underrated. RIP Brad. You are so very missed! Love your reaction!
I couldn't get enough of this LP. Released in 1976 Boston. More than a feeling. One of the all time greats.
I was in the 6th grade. When I heard this track for the first time. ❤❤❤❤❤
I love to watch younger generations really dig the music from my high school days. Great fun to watch and proves humanity is not yet lost. Cheers, Stacey!
1 of the greatest songs and albums ever
Brad Delp and Boston in a class of their own . Nothing like them . RIP Brad Delp
I'm nearly 70 yet when I hear this I get chills and I'm a young boy in High School again...This song is a RIDE!
Every teenager of the 70’s loves Boston . Great band !
We teenagers in 24 still rocking out to it, well if takes me back to my teenager days! Love it
I grew up in the 70's and Boston was my all time favorite band still today.

Hitch a Ride will forever be my favorite song from Boston.
Mine too
With the guitar solo "fade out-click-fade in" on the 8-track tape version...
Yep. Best guitar solo !
Every time I hear 'Hitch a Ride', I tear up. My older sister bought it in '76....and I was only 6 years old. Played it over and over and still love it.
My favorite too. Just a gem in a pile of gems.
This whole album was one of the most played at parties back in the late 70's!
I'm old enough to remember
@@BeerensTransport You missed out on a great time in life !!!!!!
Brad Delp's voice was absolutely legendary. I grew up listening to Boston in the seventies. The seventies really was the greatest era of music.
Brad Delp is probably the most underrated rock singer ever....just an incredible talent. I wish more people knew of him. RIP Brad. You were the best.
Great Job Stacey!! I think all of us felt the same way the first time hearing Boston!! This WHOLE ALBUM is FIRE!!!
You never heard Boston before?!? Amazing. Glad you're enjoying. They're f'n AMAZING
A man I'll never by Boston is another classic.
Underated gem
Agree 100%.
It's heartbreaking 💔
@@neechee5150 It sounds like Franklin just got called out. 😂
Their song "Peace of Mind" saved my life. You are about to go deep into the Boston rabbit🐇hole, with no regrets. They are really special!
Still listening to them to this day while driving and blasting it!!!!!!@❤❤❤
Your reaction: yeah, pretty much our reaction too in the 70s when this came out! Such a timeless song, very happy you love it.
You described life in the 70’s as if you’d been there right along with us.
Best first album of ALL TIME !!!!
Hard to argue against your claim.
Watching younger people discover and love and appreciate the music I grew up on just makes this old man's heart so happy. Not to take anything away from today's music but with all the techno and autotune it seems like there no more pure singers out there like the we had in the 60s, 70s, and early 80's.
Greatest 70s summer band ever. Riding through the Berkshires in my truck in the summer, Boston CRANKED on the stereo. The best!
Boston is one of my favorite bands, with great musicians and perfect voices. Music legends
One of the all time classic rock songs
You state this band blew you away but your reaction blew me away. First time that I recognize a review that captured the very essence of Boston and the depth of the band as we did during its debut.
Your reaction is the same as our ours was when it was released. We were as floored as you you were. Exceptional talent will always stand out as exceptional. Thank you for taking time to recognize exceptional creation.
Growing up in the 1970s we had the same feelings when we heard Bostons music. Really enjoyed watching your reaction. I am from Boston and still have the album and still blast it. Never gets old in the summer nights.
I smiled to see you discover this great group. I m an old man and I never tire of this classic tune. Plus, you are a Babe!
Brad Delp in his prime was in a league all his own. Incredible talent that certainly deserved more recognition than he got. My favourite singer of all time followed very closely by Steve Perry. And yes there were so many great singers from that era but Brad was tops. R.I.P Brad. Boston has never been Boston since you left.
one of my favourite songs of all time. outstanding performances by all parties, the vocalist, the drums, guitar parts etc...superb
Ditto.
Absolute genius! He's a tall fealla too! 6'5"
The way things seem to be going, the 70s will be remembered for Kraftwerk and Bowie, largely as antecedents to Madonna and hip hop.
There was passion an heart because it was so important to our existence on a daily part of us
Their first two albums were a huge part of my high school soundtrack. Not a bad song on either one.
Tower Records? That’s where I went.
The greatest debut album ever! Pick ANY track to listen to and you won’t be disappointed. EVERY song was a hit.
Not many bands ever had that. Van Halen debut may be close or VH 2
Their song “Hitch A Ride” from this same album is my #1 favorite song of all genres. Recommend listening
Great track.
Much as I love “Feelin”,I wish the album cuts were reacted to as well, there’s some absolute gems in there,in fact, the whole bloody album is a 70’s rock masterpiece.
More Than a Feeling, Piece of Mind, and Foreplay/Long Time, might be the best three-song opener in rock & roll history.
This was Boston’s debut album, and I wore it out back in the late 70s. So good!
My favorite 70's rock band of all time. Blessed enough to see them 4 times.
I've seen them twice, and would again in a heartbeat
Unfortunately I didn't have the pleasure to see Brad in concert
Reading the comments I have to smile because it sounds like many were in that time when Boston came out! I was 16 and Boston ROCKED!!! Loved your reaction! 🙂 Crank it Up!
You’re in for a treat with this band.
BEST. DEBUT. ALBUM. EVER!!!!!
Absolutely.
I've never comment on your channel BUT then you said, "This song makes me feel like I'm walking around with my best friend in the 70's,no cellphones or social media & were just singing this song @ the top of our lungs together", &, that there statement took me back to exactly that time & place! (except we weren't walking, we were cruising, while playing air guitars & beating on the dashboard as if it were a bad boy drum kit!)
GIRLFRIEND, You nailed that reaction to the wall so perfectly hard, its going to forever be apart of your musical foundation!
Thank you for inviting me to join with you for your 1st BOSTON EXPERIENCE!
It was awesome!
Oh, & your reaction was pretty much our reaction when Boston 1st dropped this bad boy album on us right outta the blue & perfectly on-time!
That whole 1st album is a masterpiece in & of Itself & NOBODY had ever sounded like Boston before nor since Boston's time exploded our airways!
Thanks again for the free ride back to my Junior year in High School!
🤗🙌
I been to many Bostons concerts back in the mid 70's . Brad can hold his notes! What you heard here is what they sound like in concert. Rock out!🎸
Congrats on finding Boston- I saw them live in 1977 in Philadelphia. It's fun watching you process this music for the 1st time
I still blast this song on my trucks stereo system like the first time I heard it.
