I heard the sad news about Casey having months to live, due to his illness. :(
At this time, my thoughts and prayers are with him and everyone who knew him.
I even met him back in 2006, and we kept in contact for a little bit after that.
Casey, thank you for the great radio show you did for so many years. As well as being one of the reasons why I want to be a DJ, and for encouraging peeps to, as you always said, "Keep their feet on the ground, and keep reaching for the stars."

    Dear Raymond,
This is a studio outtake that has been produced to sound like an actual segment, this makes it more entertaining, this would never air commercially, especially in the US

Hi Scott, thanks for supplying the time frame, it would be interesting to hear the actual version, knowing what drama went on in its production before air play :)

I'm thinking this was recorded in late August-early September of 1985-The Long Distance Dedication to Snuggles aired the weekend of September 14th.1985.

this segment has been edited to appear as if it might have been broadcast, it sounds more compelling, unlikely that something like this would actually go to air 😃 especially in the USA but you can hear the audio quality drop immediately after his intro.

It is sad that the man who brought Scooby Doo to life hated dogs so much in reality

I Would Have Like To Hear Casey Kasem Do The Top 20 Oldies Countdown On WCBS-FM New York, As a Substitute For Bobby Jay Or Norm N Nite.

I'm curious to know did that episode really air where Casey lost his temper on the air was cussing like that just because of the long-distance dedication over death of a dog named snuggles? There's another post where it show just a picture of him and the broadcast in that part of the show but without the background music your hearing and I'll tell you it made me laugh. But I know for a fact that if it actually did air unless he went and redid the show at the same day after he'd calm down or he wouldn't talk like that I know if they aired it with him cussing and yelling on the air like that then the show may be cancelled because there would not be a radio without Casey Kasem and the countdown of the biggest hits every week rest in peace Casey. but I was wondering did that particular scene that was called on the episode actually air? or did they of course redid the program where he wasn't like that?

On Saturday Night September 14,1985, Kasem was hosting a AT40 Death Dedication, when while Reading a Letter about the death of a Dog named Snuggles, he's given a '45 of The Pointer Sister's new single "Dare Me" and is forced and ordered to play it. The Record that the listener had ordered was the 1976 Ballad "Shannon" by Henry Gross(Which is about a DOG) but instead, Kasem is told to play Dare Me which doesn't match the context of the situation. Its an Up Tempo song, not a sad ballad.
Kasem is rightfully pissed off in the '33 Outtake.
