  • It's easy to get overwhelmed with all the cool gelli prints from your monoprinting sessions. But the question is what to do with gel prints? Which ones make the cut? Can you throw them out? Before you get overwhelmed with it all, let me show you how I reign in the chaos...I've got a system!
    I'm collaborating with Kerry Hill from Inkhill Revival today. Together we're reigning in chaos and turning it loose at the same time. Should be a fun pair of videos. Kerry's channel is CRAZY good. Definitely watch a few and consider subscribing. I LOVE the way she thinks!

    I used to use the ABC method of organizing my gel prints. However, for me personally, it didn't work well. I now just have all my gel prints in a box. The prints that I originally thought were not good enough or not finished, are often the ones that I want to make something with. The 'ugly duckling' ones as I call them, often turn out to be just right for my project I am working on. Having said that. your ABC method is great, if that works for you! It gets back to what works for YOU! Great video Ingrid, many thanks and stay well:-)

    I also cut out a lot of 3/8-inch strips for washi tape. From the B prints and even the C prints, and especially the brayer-off sheets. I too use everything I print to make backgrounds for cards. Love this video, Ingrid.

    I literally learned how to do gel prints from you...Yeap I got a ton now 🙃and couldn't let go or finish.. WHO KNEW you'd give us a system to organize and then a bonus on how to actually find new suggestions how to add additional technics that help us "elevate the looks" and not have to always start from scratch 😉. I'm so excited to dive in my stash now.

    I have over 500 background prints.
    I asked a FB group for advice, one of the women ask me to send them to her on her dollar.
    She plans to take them to a senior center and have the seniors create things with them.
    I'll be keeping some but most will go to her to make room for the next set of 500+ prints I want to pull.

      I LOVE that! Yes, so much, it's more than I can use myself. I do plan on binding my own art journal with several. And others I use on other projects, coasters, cards, art journal pages, on canvases and the list goes on... Thanks so much for watching and leaving some comments! 😍😘🎨

    Just found your videos and I’m a fan. I’m also a fellow hoarder. I just want to make more all the time. I sort my prints in scrapbooking plastic containers and even those are overflowing. It takes discipline to work with what you already have! Maybe exchanging some of the hoards might be fun. 😁

    I only have 2 piles ‘finished’ prints that get stored by dominant colour with my patterned papers and unfinished which I leave on my desk to finish first next time the gel plate comes out. If I have roll off sheets I put them in my paper scraps for die cutting.

    I 🤔 think I need to do as you suggested and keep working on some backgrounds I already have. Maybe that's why I don't like them, they are not done yet? unfortunately they will never look as fantastic as yours. 😑. Thanks for the encouragement to divide and conquer!

    What do people do with their finished journals, cards, etc?
    I don't have enough storage space where I live for much more than my supplies and worktable.

    • @IngridBlackburn
      @IngridBlackburn  3 роки тому +2

      Great question Cheryl! Art journals people keep like scrapbooks and photo albums - as it's their art. Cards, I keep a stash, for myself just to have - again art, and many I send to love ones. Some people create and donate to places like Retirement, Vet homes, etc... Some people sell their art! 😍🎨🎨

      Absolutely! I do have a supply list in the description with everything linked. It's on Amazon for $13 for a ream of 250 sheets. Neenah EXACT 90 OR 110 pound. Not cardstock, but Exact paper. IT's thin, super bright white and smooth. Perfect, and cheap. That and deli paper...lol. Thanks for popping by to watch and comment. 😍😘🎨
