Despite its "weak" engine I think this corsa is fast enough for the people who simply want a car practic and pretty to solve their mobility problem. And for that this car is really good. Good test!!!
no it´s not because this engine is known for having catastrophic engine failures just after 3 - 6 years because of the timing belt running in oil is falling apart. I don´t think that people "that simply want to have a car to solve their mobility problem" expect such difficulties. Such people should better buy the Mazda 2.

PureTech Timing Belt Crumble is the key word ... Opel is new in the PSA game so you won´t find many cases. They used GM engines in previous models. But there are cases with even new past 2020 engines, so it doesn´t seem to be solved.
@@segoiiiYet my 2015 Puretech is on 82,000 miles and still going strong. Original belt replaced at 68,000 miles cost £550 to replace and oil strainer cleaned out. New belt still looks like new and oil replaced years with 0-30w PSA approved Oil. No different to the so called amazing VAG group TSI engines.
@@marcgardner868 modern TSIs with dry timing belts are better than the PSA stuff. It´s good for you that you didn´t have problems. And still a lot of people do have problems and if this belt in oil technology was bullet proof, Ford and PSA wouldn´t have gone back to timing chain.
Nice video as always I have the 101hp 1.2 turbo with 6-speed manual gearbox ... I have to say that it is fast and snappy with 205 nm of torque ... carefully I can average 5.2l / 100km ... It is 1 elegance is digital ... super equipped ... I am satisfied !!!
I'm right now in Germany got it for tent and my top speed was 194 on the cluster and 190 on the GPS. Couldn't go faster. Very impressed how this car can turn!
I’ve driven one of these as a rental car. In Spain there’s barely 500€ between this engine and the 1.0 Turbo with 100hp. In my opinion this engine is enough for driving in the city, but at 120km/h fuel consumption is higher than my Fiesta 1.0 MHEV 125hp. The main difference is that driving at 120km/h requires almost full throttle with the Corsa, while it’s less than half throttle in the Fiesta. Still, a very good car, I really like the new Corsa, but I recommend you to buy the 1.2 Turbocharged engine.

Bin soeben dieses Modell als Vauxhall zur Probe gefahren. War vom Motor positiv überrascht. Ebenso von der Materialanmutung im Innenraum. Bei uns ist auf der Autobahn ohnehin bei ca. 115 km/h Feierabend. Alles in allem ein gelungener Wagen. Bestellt 👍
Gute Wahl. Ich habe das Corsa E Modell mit Automatik und 90 PS. Mit dem Wagen kann man richtig klasse sanft fahren. Und bis 115 Km/h ist das Abrollgeräusch der Reifen das Lauteste.
Was schade bei den elektronischen gas und hast Vollgas geht oft die Leistung weniger und nimmst ihn langsam ran mit dem Gas holst mehr raus ,statt vollgas

I had one of these as a hire car yesterday. It was ok around town but when it came to driving in hilly areas as i did ( through the peak district), it really struggled. It was not one i would ever choose to own.

@@Mgoblagulkablong i have a 2021 Mazda CX3. The tire noise is louder than on most other new cars and even my old Volkswagen Lupo wasn´t that much louder. A Volkswagen T-Cross or Ford Puma are like driving another class of car. Mazda is known for building solid engines, but quite loud cars.

This engine is a deadbeat. I've driven Peugeot 2008 with this engine and it's painfully slow. They should have kept 1.2/1.4 ecotec engines for these cars, it would be so much better.
@@segoiii I owned Corsa C with 1.2... The only two faults it had on engine after 250k were leaking oil pressure sensor and rear crank seal. I have 1.4 Corsa E now and no issues whatsoever after 60k.
@@bojned i had a Corsa E 1.2 70hp and a Peugeot 208 1.2 75hp both as rental car during holiday. And the Corsa was the way better car. The PSA 3-cyl runs very unrefined and furthermore it is known for early carastrophic engine failures due to the timing belt falling apart and clogging oil lines. Those PSA Puretech engine are just garbage. I ask myself who came to the idea to give such a rubbish engine the "engine of the year" award. Whoever wants a Corsa, should really go for the old Corsa E.
@@segoiii Engine of the year award does not mean it's most reliable engine, it's about innovation (not necessarily quality). Mazda RX8 engine (Renesis) won it, and it's quite unreliable and short lived engine. Also first gen 1.4TSI from VW, and that thing is self destructive :D
@@bojned Mazda RX8 is okay. VW TSI was also quite innovative in its early years. But i don´t see the innovation in the 1.2 Puretech. It´s an unreliable version of a normal downsized 3-cylinder-engine.
Terrible instrument lay-out. Speedometer and tacho spread apart, with secondary instruments in the middle. Best lay-outs in car history were found in Corsa B and Corsa C. This is a complete misunderstanding. Opel's not alone with this huge mistake. Car designers become increasingly ignorant
Hatte den 75 PS Schalter. Ekelhafter Motor, der rappelt wie ne Schachtel Murmeln. Für den Stadtverkehr voll okay von der Leistung her, für alles andere : Finger weg ! Davon ab, hatte noch nie ein Auto mit so vielen Verarbeitungsmängeln.
Nimm es mir nicht übel aber entweder du bist besoffen und fährst so oder du musst unbedingt nochmal zur Fahrschule, hab bisher 3 min angeschaut und schüttel mir den Kopf, keine Spur halten, kein Abstand auch zu den Hinteren Fahrzeugen, und das schlimmste ist deine Lenkung, also wie du die kurven nimmst... Aber sonst war es bisher Top
Klar, man kann mit dem Ding kaum rasen, aber für alles, was man so braucht und auch mal eine kurvige Landstraße, reicht es dann doch. Man muss den Preisunterschied zur nächsthöheren Motorisierung berücksichtigen: Beim Pendant des Peugeot 208 gibt es den 75 PS-Motor ab rund 16.000 Euro, die 101 PS-Version kostet wegen einer zwingend notwendigen höheren Ausstattungslinie über 4000 Euro mehr - das ist Wahnsinn für 26 PS und LED-Rückleuchten... Ähnlich wird es hier sein. Werde mir den 208 als Active mit 75 PS leasen - unter 100 Euro ohne Anzahlung. Das geht mit der 100 PS-Version leider nicht. Das geht generell kaum, so günstig ein neues Auto zu fahren, wenig Leistung hin oder her.

Also , keep in mind this is the stock engine in the corsa. You can pick a 1,2 turbo with 100 HP or the automatic with 130 HP.
I have also testet 100 hp version too and 130 in peugeot 208 automatic too

Corsa with 100 hp wasnt ever better, it drive like a cheap car, even suzuki swift or ford fiesta or mazda 2 was much better and good quality feeling

Zahnriemen im Öl ist bei den PSA 1.2 Maschinen halt ungeil. damit gabs in jüngerer Vergangenheit viel Theater.

eher 177 km/h bei flache gerade strecke, 186 war bergab, mit 200 musst man bei richtig steile berg runter erreichen :)
Der Wagen geht eher beschissen. Fahr mal einen neuen Mazda 2 mit dem 1.5 75PS und RSG. Das sind Welten.

No, I'm 1.80 m tall and can't seat more than 3 hours inside. Can't stretch my legs (( foot rest platform is too close to the seat.
I had a trip for 10 hours straight and the seats are really comfy I'm am pleased with it I have the 1.2 100hp turbo

for me was ford fiesta, suzuki swift, mazda 2 really good car, mazda 2 was the best quality and natural aspirated engine

the ecotec engines were way better. 4 cyl with timing chain vs 3 cyl with timing belt running in oil. PSA engines are garbage.
