I’m really happy to see Toyota modernising as well as unifying their design language, while still making reliable and affordable cars. One of if not the best car company out there

I just bought the SE version 3 days ago and the design is amazing! My wife has a 2020 LE and I kinda have to squeeze in. With the ‘23 if the seat is all the way back, I can’t reach the pedals and I’m 6 ft. tall! What’s most impressive is with a full tank of gas, the range indicated is 375 miles! There is so much tech in the car it will take a while for me to learn it all. The safety suite is second to none in its class. This redesigned version is impressive and I really recommend checking it out if you can find one. Only issue is after driving it one day, I was one a rough road and found a rattle which sounds like it’s coming from the vents in the center interior of the car. The dealership was responsive and took the car in and gave me a loaner. UPDATE: I took a test drive with a Toyota mechanic this morning. He had a suspicion that turns out to be true. The rattle was from the camera cover above the center of the console. He fixed it in about 10 minutes and I tested it on the same rough road I had the sound on originally. It fixed the problem and he was going to send a report in to Toyota for a redesign. He said he had a similar problem one other time. Love how responsive they were to my concern!

Have they worked out the CVT because in the 2018 Corolla I drive it is sluggish and makes an awful noise as you descend a steep hill as you brake trying to avoid a speeding fine. CVT's are over rated. I prefer a conventional gearbox and don't get obsessed about mileage and economy.
@@Alpha_7227 it still drives the same and has to rev high. But in the hybrid versions the electric motor will work like a turbo in some situations and in power/sport mode the throttle response is significantly higher
I think Corolla should always add a performance edition in the line up besides from the TOP GR corolla, incase somebody who want better handling like the Mazda 3. the Apex model was a good start. I think the manual transmission should always be offered in this sport model. I drove the mazda 3, it could handle like torque vectoring. Corolla needs Performance edition to get more younger people into the brand. I had two corolla's, 1981, and 1996. My 1996 drove better than my FRS, but it doesn't handle as good as the FRS. -

It’s about time the Corolla gets a bit more exciting. I’m coming from a Camry XSE V6 and actually downgraded to a Corolla XSE for 2023. What i sacrificed in performance is made up for in gas savings, reduced car insurance, and cheaper maintenance. But the Corolla XSE is still fun to drive. Put it in sport mode, take off traction control, and use the paddle shifters to really have full control of the car. It’s sport tuned suspension helps with cornering and handling. Plus, it’s got a really aggressive modern look. People see it and say “wow” that’s a Corolla? Yeah, it is.
