Mate, there is a place in heaven for you, wasted half a day on this and then found your video. Job done. For those that go to Bunnings, the top rubber is called Pipe ring The bottom one is Cone.
Thanks for letting us know what the top rubber is called 🙏 I couldn’t quite catch it in the video. I’m going to replace both while I’m at it.
I am so grateful to you. On an Aged Pension living alone was a big problem. Nearly 80yrs my hands were not strong enough to get the pipe through the hole. I put it into boiling water and also used detergent. Wow got the damn thing through. I can't believe I fixed the leak. I followed your Video and without you I could not have done it. I am eternally grateful to you. thank you so much.
Hi Dianne, thank you for your kind words and you are very much welcome. I just wish I knew what other videos I can do for you😀
You're a freaking legend. When my loo started to piss water out the back, I thought I'd be out a few hundred bucks. But with your amazing video, and a late night trip to bunnings, managed to solve the issue. Thank you for the no nonsense video
I bought both 50mm and 40mm pan cones just in case. Turned out I did need the 40mm one!
Easy and clear instructions, and video. I had to use a little bit of detergent but got it fitted in 10mins for $5 Thanks, you're a legend mate. Liked and subscribed.
Your fold - it - back - on - itself tip for the pan seal was just what I needed - thanks so much ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Awesome, excellent video. didnt think that cone rubber wound ever fit . you made my life easy. thanks mate
Just the video I am looking for. Many thanks for the ingenious way to insert the 2nd cone!
You sir are a dead set Aussie legend.
Thanks so much, well explained. This video will probably be popular as long as toilets work this way!!! 😜🚽🌊
Ta mate, after 25 minutes of intensive searching this is the only video or info I can find on this seal! I didn't even know what it was called (talking about the cone seal). My toilet has it and is about 30 yrs old, all other more modern toilets don't have this it seems. Glad you left the "Fix-a-loo" tag on it! Now I can do a search for that. And good advice to also change the other one under the other end nut. Good video showing how to install it by turning it back on itself. Thanks again.
No worries at all mate. Yes I should do another vid on the other seal called key seal. It sit inside the housing where this 1 sits over it
I agree. Same with me
Made things much easier and I appreciate the way you explained things. Well done and thank you.
Thank you for this. After a quick trip to Bunnings I was able to fix this in five minutes (without dragging in the landlord!) Well done.
Good news, glad I can save you a buck or 2
Champion!!! Spent ages trying to get the new cone rubber on. Couldn't work it out for the life of me. Saw you peal it back and I felt like an idiot. 30 seconds later my toilet was fixed.
all good mate, glad it made it easier for you.
Wasting 10 minutes trying to fit it in.. No guy around to help..I didn't know we have to fold it first then release it. Glad i found this video. Thanks for this great video.
your very most welcome, folding it back is just a trick of the trade
Mate. You’re a dead set legend. Has to change one of these tonight and couldn’t work out how to get it on the back of the toilet. Fold it back. Legendary move. Thanks for the awesome video. Cheers!
Like mentioned below, i was having trouble soaked in boiling water , with no go , felt i wasn't strong enough . Called local Reece dealer thinking there was a bigger size than 50mm.
I am on the disability pension and not very strong anymore. Watching your video i had the job done in minutes.
I can't thank you enough.
Cheers to you mate 😎👌
Saved me $600 in plumbing call out fees thanks boss
THANK YOU!!! I was cleaning the toilet today and happened to be in a position to see a drip from the seal when I flushed it - and my heart sank 😢 But thanks to your video, I know what I need to do and am off to Bunnings to get a new seal. I’m very grateful to you for sharing your knowledge 🙏
Cheers mate, straight forward and easy to understand. 👍🏼🍻
Thanks Mate. Easy way to fix this issue. I have done this before but was a struggle in the past. Much easier following your instructions.
This video was perfect, thank you!
Wow thanks for this! --- I put bicarb soda in the cone seal instead of oil or detergent, and it went on easily. You're a champion man!
Thank you!! Sunday night, changed the seal- super easy to follow the pan seal instructions.
Been putting this job off for weeks -thanks for your great video
Followed your instructions with no experience other than google previously and worked perfectly. Cheers mate
Hi Matthew, no worries at all mate. Easy once know hey☺
Great tip thank you.. I must have replaced dozens of pan cones in my lifetime.. Mine friends and family.. I've never used the pipe first and roll back trick.. And getting the mongrel onto the pan first is a nightmare.. But this way.. boom boom.. Thank you again..
Hey Geoff no worries at all mate, glad to have helped. The problem is we take those little things granted in the job. Yell out if you have any other little mongrel jobs I might be able to help with
Awesome video - thanks so much, I replaced the cone type pan seal in about 2 minutes using this method. No lube required!
Thanks for this, I bought one of those fix-a-loo rubber replacements, and didn't understand how it was supposed to work until I watched this video.
Thank you. Bought one from Bunnings a couple of days ago for an old toilet to replace a seal. Could not figure out how to use it. Easily fixed!
Thanks so much for this video! Just got mine replaced today, soaked in warm water before hand helped.
And that's my job this evening. Cheers for the easy explanation
Just about to go test this out - cheers for the demo 👍
Thank you!!! I brought the first seal, and it did not work. After a day of "intensive" research, I found your video and brought the 2nd flush seal (cone) and did your trick.. hey presto it work!!!! No more leaking toilet and no more water on the floor. And the cone cost me only $4 at Bunnings.
absolute legend, now i can seem like the good housemate 🤙
Excellent video! Very informative and helpful. Thank you.
Excellent video. Thank you.
My pleasure glad it has helped
Thank you!!! This was so helpful 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Cheers mate! Extremely helpful for Aussie toilets.
Thanks for the video. Fixed my leaking pan cone rubber myself. Only cost me parts. $9. Cheers.
Thank you Ezyfix, the tutorial was absolutely FANTASTIC 10/10. Took me 15 mins.

Great tip. fixed in a minute thinking I had the wrong seal. Thank You
lol no worries at all Bullbar. That does help to have the right rubber
Thanks for that mate. I had a vague idea of how to do this, but wasn't entirely sure. Easy as.
Thank you! I'm off to Bunnings now ☺️
Tq so muchhh🥲 love from Malaysia
Just what I was looking for, thanks.
Thanks. That "folding back" is a good trick.
Hope it helps mate. There are many tricks to the trade just anything.
Legend!!! Sorted in 2 minutes after 1 hour of stuffing around lol.
hey Hone no worries at all mate. Glad it helped you out
Cheers mate.. it's a big help. What u taught is quite helpful. Now I can stop stuffing it up 😂😂😂
Genius mate, I'm kicking myself for not seeing sooner cheers

Cheers mate! Just what I was looking for!
No worries at all man, glad I've helped ya out☺
Great video, Helped me a stack today. Cheers
Exactly what I needed to know
Thans for your great demo
It save a lots of time
Role over the rubber ! that is best way
No worries at all Jeon, glad it helped
Thanks. Much appreciated! 🤓
This was exactly what I needed. There's minor leakage coming from a couple of cracks in the black rubber cone I noticed tonight. Now I know exactly how to replace it. Thanks!
The nut at the top of the flush pipe won't unscrew, stuck. Tried my hardest (going clockwise like this video). Not sure if you have any tips for that situation :D
mate you are very most welcome and glad to help
@@macca3666 anti clockwise (like in the video) 😁👍
Thank you, mate really helped me, cheers
Wow too easy mate. Thanks heaps!!:)
Great work..I appreciate your efficient. Thank you so much.
Great help thankyou
Hello and thanks so much for the generous tip. I would have never thought it. My best wishes to you for a merry Xmas and a happy New Year. 🙌🤗
Thank you!
So simple mate, cheers for that. A 5 min trip to Bunnings for a $4 cone rubber and back home and installed in 2 mins. What a hassle it would have caused to get the landlord involved!!
Thanks mate, you help me a lot.
My pleasure my man, glad it helped ya out
very helpful video. thank you for this.
Nice one. couldn't figure out how to stretch the pan cone onto the toilet. Sorted now.
good to hear mate
great demo, off to get the gear now, one happy lady, thanks :-)
You are very most welcome Megs, glad to help
Thanks mate
Thanks mate! off to Bunnings😁
make sure to get the right size, there are 2 different sizes, 40mm and 50mm. its only where the pipe goes is where makes the size differences.
Cheers mate. Helped me a lot with this - I'd done the job before but without the fold over trick. The toilet made an enemy for life that day, I assure you. Was still a bastard getting it far enough down the pipe (I can see why people recommend using lube) but got there in the end. Thanks again :)
Yer at times it can be a little tricky but glad you got there in the end☺
Just saved me $300, thanks mate 🙏🏼
Thanks man you saved me!
Good scream digger. And if all else fails just cover old seal with silicone and good as new again. Even though might look unsightly. Trick learnt from qualified plumper by the way.
thanks mate
Great thank you 👍
Worth you wieght in kee seals thank mate you are a legend
Good on you mate, good old aussie know-how
Nicely explained, wish me luck as I try to get my new one on now!!
hey glad to have helped, you'll be right☺
@@ezyfixplumbing9552 it went smoothly!! thank you so much. now i have the same problem as you, the top is dripping. i'll have to get a new ring next bunnings trip.
thanks again :)
Thanks mate. 🇦🇺🙏🏼
thankyou so much for the instructions, my toilet started leaking from that exact spot after rubber over the years has gone brittle and perished.
Thank you. Dam, my toilet has been leaking for a year or so. Rang plumbers. No show. Mind the excuse broken body don't bend that far anymore. But thanks for your post. Tomorrow's job. Have a great year . Cheers
That's great - thanks! Now, bloke at the hardware store said plumbers reckon the white rubber pan cones last longer than the black ones (black ones tend to perish quicker)?
Thanks 👌 saved me a 110km drive back to the shop and embarrassment of realising the one I bought would fit, if I used the correct technique 🤦♂️🤣👍
Cheers
Legend
Nice
Fun fact. For the nervous types like me, you can fit both types together. Not so fun fact, the upright part of the pipe is very often much longer, going up into the syphon, in the UK anyway.
Hey thanks. I bought a cone seal but it kept leaking so I will try again; folding it back and then flicking it over makes sense. I think I'm ready to change professions. Gotta love plumbing. Toilets don't back answer. (Potential ex teacher).
Yer hearing you there mate, same bout potential ex plumber. Just have to hold the line mate. My girl has also becoming ex teacher in Vic but at the end of the day, we can always make money, can't make more time
Thank you for this. After a quick trip to Bunnings I was able to fix this in five minutes (and shut up the nagging wife) Well done.
The spiders everywhere
if i don't turn the tap off and some how flush the water out of the top part, wont water spill everywhere when I go to replace the rubber?
That is correct so you can turn the water off and empty the tank if you would like to if you don't trust yourself from not pushing the buttons
U fucking legend!
The video seemed useful but I struggled to understand this guy's strong accent. I couldn't understand half of what he said.
What a disgusting toilet😳😩😩
Thanks mate
