I am literally fitting one of these this week and your video was invaluable. I will let you know how I get on as I am vanity virgin! Unlike yours the wash basin is separate from the WC and I had to do a lot of customisation to the carcass to overcome the issue of the WC waste running on the inside right where the cabinet needs go. What a pain in the arse!

Once again excellent advice from someone who actually knows what they are doing, we have one of these built in units, I look at the toilet seat and wonder how we can change it as we cannot get to the fittings ?
Do we need to pull out the complete pan to get access, as the fitting holding the seat is not accessible?
    Well done excellent presentation.

Good tutorial thanks. Did one today. Your editing makes this look like a much easier job than in reality.
Top tip: mock-up the cistern with fixing bracket to check the flush outlet is actually in the center of the cistern. I used a universal cistern, and only noticed after I'd fixed it to the wall that the bracket is not centred to the flush outlet (out by about 20mm to one side). Had to dismantle the whole thing and re-drill cistern bracket holes. Fuming!

What about a downstairs WC with surface run cold and hot feeds plus soil waste with no where to hide them. Concrete floor and a terraced house, not enough room to build a fake wall to hide pipes behind.
Is it a case of cutting a 110mm hole on the side of the vanity unit to run soil into soil stack?

  • @richwilliam3378

Thanks for the video. I've got one of these blighters to fit in about a week and I've never done it before and this is the best "how to" I've found so far. The multiquick looks good, but the toilet I took out was a ceramic job from around 1960 and the waste was a ceramic pipe which is still projecting a couple of inches - un-broken, I might add, though possibly with a bit of filler-like sealant around it - into the room. Will the multiquick fit into it without any sealant? Somewhat to my surprise, I didn't see you use any sealant on the flush or the waste pipe. Is that how it's done? And do they seal well?
    Best wishes,
    Rich.
