I'm suprised on his option tire answer. A lot of the top tier team drivers do not like it because it makes small team guys more competitive for a small time, and that could be an overtime restart.
I like the one point per position with a big point bump for a win. That’s more simple than even the Winston format. However, the full season format should return without a doubt.
It absolutely did NOT work. You wanna go back to a system where everyone knows who the champion will be with 8 weeks to go in the season?! That would KILL this sport. We live in an era, like it or not, where so many people have short attention spans. So what makes you think ANY FAN would still watch the end of a season with nothing at stake? Not only that, not one track on the circuit would want to be the last race of the season.
@@Jashleyhood Well what we are doing is clearly not working… ratings still consistently go down during the playoffs even when spring/summer races increase. A huge percent of fans don’t take our championship format serious at all and that’s a bigger problem than champions being decided pre last week of season. And also, we just had 26 races where a single point separated our leaders in points so I’m not particularly worried about that in this current era.
@@ffr8186 The numbers simply don’t bear this out. The ratings are up year by year over the last 3, and the tracks that aren’t selling, aren’t getting any more dates(Richmond comes to mind). The sport may not be changing in a way that you would like, but it’s very much alive and well.
Better get a stepping up his game one w i n in a year ain't going to get it done for Rick Hendrick time to get that pressure on your shoulders and press the gas pedal
If less is more how come we always have to have a caution with two laps to go to set up a green white checker NASCAR manipulates every finish of every race it's obvious are these drivers that bad they drive 400 and 500 miles go to stages without even a fender bender and then when it comes down to the last two laps they just lose their minds and just start reckon people I got to admit there are some no mines out there driving I think your entry ought to be based on Merit system the more wrecks you have the less starts you get I mean John Hunter Nemechek seriously he spends out every race at the end say what you want but Josh Berry is a nobody he's a no-show he's always in the middle of something as far he's the prime example of nepotism and he gets on the best and richest and most employed race team and he never did anything he won a championship seriously well I guess you just have to win and you're in what a crock of s*** how would we ever have a Super Bowl champion if all you had to do was win and you're in the season would go on forever here's a novel idea lose and you're out no the greatest driver in the world Kyle Larson the first to wreck big time totals this car completely and then another nobody runs into him who's in The Chase who doesn't belong there maybe it's just because it's first name is Chase that was great but how many chances do we get Kyle Larson is they're pretty boy and he's going to run Indy that's quite a ways away to be pumping up in the I'm sure he'll win as long as they put a speedometer in his car so he doesn't speed down Pit Road rookie mistake what a bunch of b******* NASCAR you picked a good guy to have on your program here I don't know that he did too much but I guess if you just finish up to the top and never win races you get to be a champion man NASCAR sucks I don't watch it as soon as I saw Kyle Larson wreck at Atlanta I turned off the TV
Bro, different types of tracks are gimmicks. Every playoff race should be at 1.5 mile ovals. How can you expect drivers to be consistent if they're forced to race at road courses and drafting tracks..... like NASCAR has for it's entire history. Then throw in stage points and OT! 😵 It's not like the rules are the same for everyone. I don't think drivers should have to prove their skills in multiple settings. Just give the championship to the fastest guy on intermediate ovals with no cautions and no funny business. 😒
Hmm. They have no say? I'm not exactly sure what you're saying but when it comes to racing, I'd listen to Elliot, Harvick, Junior and Hamlin before some guy on a comment section!
@daleearnhardtdirtymomedia As a college football fan , what you need to do is find a balance about what the drivers like to talk about and what you as a company want the fans to hear ( it’s not like a business in the sense that you have obligations but you also want the drivers to be connected to the fanbases
Always great to hear Chase talk in a longer interview. He has a lot of good ideas for improving the sport when he gets the opportunity to share them.

Chase go win the chase
NASCAR needs to go back to the original point system from way back in the day! It worked very well then and would still to this day!

@ffr8186 the old system rewarded top 5 and top 10. Only change needed was more bonus points for winning

Chase you need a new crew chief. He can't figure this car out!!!
4 races round of 16 4 races round of 10 2 races round of 4
Super speedways should never be a playoff race.
