I stick my rails on where the concave starts to flatten out, then you can use them to pivot into hurricanes and feebles etc 🤙🏼

You skate with the rail Jesus who skates with another rail Jesus that had his own brand of rails. I know I'll be rewatching Dan's stuff for rail placement on my new board.
Looks like heaps of fun. Enjoying the channel heaps, good to hear an Aussie in amongst the yanks too 👍

A couple of things about rails (that may or may not have been said in the comments already)
The further you put your rails into the middle of your boards concave depends really on how you decide to use them (for hurricanes, feebles, bennet, barley, sugarcane, etc) and also, if you've seen how some folks bend their rails and bevel them in toward the middle, is also helpful for the geometry to locking into smith grinds, etc. I bevel mine in.
    Hope this helped.

Hack for rails, when you go to install them put some double sided tape on the bottom of em. This will prevent them from getting ripped off while skating. You can get the tape at any local hardware store. Cheers

wider rails makes the board slides more stable. if you wanted to be able to be able to boardslide to hurricane and tricks like that youd want them about inline wih the inside of the wheels.

remmeber how they used to say if you were shit on by a bird on the shoulder it was good luck? One day I realised the whole reason it's good luck is because it didnt shit on your head! I'm not even sure if thats why they say it's good luck or not but it blew my mind. I don't think that is even where the bird shit on the shoulder thing comes from.... but me personally if bird shit landed on my shoulder I would feel like i had good luck because it didnt land on my head.... food for thought

No shame in waxing rails, curbs and/or the edge of your deck . IMO, the Powell Rib Bones are a little soft and the NHS rails (Santa Cruz, Creature, etc) slide faster and farther. LilJawns rails are even better.

Noooo! another youtuber with rails. It’s killing me lately. Lol I’m just kidding. If I had the skill to skate curbs I’d probably do it. Just seems like you need to already have extensive years of skating to have developed the balance and feel required for slippery rails.
