  • After repeating and increasing numbers of overheat temperature alarms on the 2006 Yamaha FX140, I wanted to try something other than swapping sensors or ripping the engine down to clean out the cooling veins and water jackets. Cleaning performed 7/25/24. Tested 7/25 and 7/26. Rode it between 9500-10,000 RPM for 15 minutes in a local lake and no alarms each day. Not sure the degree of calcification but the ski is mainly freshwater only (one time for short period in salt and freshwater rinsed immediately after). This definitely remedied the alarming which would happen any time it was over 9000 RPM for more than 10-20 seconds. Ski has 340 hours.
