Welcome to today's VLOG! As a homeschool mom who works both outside the home and from home, I often find myself tackling a variety of projects on my days off. I thought I would take you along on this particularly productive (what a nice way of saying 'busy') day. From preserving food from the garden to prepping our homeschool space to decorating cakes, there was a little bit of everything. You are very lucky to have a good zuc harvest. We cannot have any unless we cover ours because the vine borers will decimate them :( so we don't even plan squash type plants anymore. We have such horrible problems with pests down here. By the way, a mandolin is really worth it!

We had squash bugs (which I believe are similar to vine borers) a few years ago. I ended up surrounding all our garden beds with gravel and rotating which beds our vine crops are in. Diatomaceous earth and weekly sprays with neem oil also help immensely with controlling the pests.
