@Gemstonehits I do agree that the pacing is very bad in One Piece with lots of long drawn out shots and the episodes not really starting until 5 sometimes even 7 or 8 minutes in. But as long as its showing canon content its still not filler. Filler is when the anime does something extra that the manga doesn't. Like adding complete arcs in that weren't in the manga or extra episodes in an existing arc that don't really change the overall story like in Alabasta. One Piece does waste a lot of time but that doesn't mean filler. The actually filler in one piece is entertaining like G8, but the poor pacing and wasted time is whats bad

It also show great dynamics between different friendships on the crew (ex: Nami and Ussop, Sanji and Zoro, Chopper and Robin, Franky and Robin), as well as characters outside of the crew (the Koby and Helmeppo episodes especially). ALSO WORLDBULIDING. These filler episodes are so good for understanding what the grand line is like and how that world is set up. Some of the filler episodes are my favorite ngl

it's funny that people think that so many episodes are not filler just because they don't stray totally from the manga, but those episodes where half the episode is just ambience and static cuts are also filler in my opinion, they literally have no substance, they are just there to make the episode have the necessary 23 minutes. One way to avoid this is simply for one piece adapt to the seasonal model, after i watched the end of whole cake about 4 years or so ago, i decided to completely forget about one piece until i would hear that wano arc was done, and let me tell you, the best decision i've made, there are anime that i watch that sometimes go 3 ~ 4 years until they release the next season, but when the season is out, it will all be worth it, because the episodes will have quality, wano had so much potential, it had some really amazing episodes, but to think that EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM could have had the quality of the episode luffy got to the roof, or that of zoro and king's fight, it is so sad to accept that one piece will never be like that, having episodes not worry about using too many pages of the manga, and end up with dull and honestly, sometimes just plain boring episodes because they cant use more than 10 pages on this episode, or else they are going to get the anime too close to the manga. just wanted to rant a bit

I personally would prefer a completely new cast, given how far along in live a lot of the VAs are, those that still live. Though, from what I hear, Japan is really big on AI, so we might get AInarcnations of the old voices - who knows
I also stopped watching when WCI finished. And when wano was nearing the end in the anime I started watching at my own pace. Watch a few episodes here, watch 6 episodes the next day, don't watch any for a couple weeks, watch 5 episodes when I come back. It's been the best

Honestly for me I don't feel like fillers are something we should skip. They have their own story and they show us how the characters do face small problems(which are not consisting of huge ass fights) and how they overcome it, how strong their bond is between the members of the crew... and so on. I loved and craved for more filler eps (like the G8 one, cuz it was fun to watch especially Luffy) than some normal regular story eps. Moreover what irks me is the fillers they include in non-filler episodes i.e, just to meet the requirements of the 23min time limit for each eps. Sometimes its unnecessary to include that many scenes but I do understand why they are doing it. For example, I loved Wano arc but sometimes I got so irritated when the fights were cut off in the middle and other scenes popped up or when they lasted for more time than necessary, which kinda made my excitement lower than I anticipated (just my opinion) So excluding that I have no qualms and I love OP even tho these things are present, cuz DAMN!! The story is one of a kind🤌 I will never miss it just bcz of few shitty reasons like bad pacing and filler stuff.
And specifically the dragon island arc with Apis has both some of the funniest pre timeskip moments in the anime and is mentioned again in canon episodes like twice (since it was the arc to introduce the calm belt)
Since Studio Wit is reworking One Piece at better pacing, about 12% is already going. Usually about a third of an episode is recap, intro, outro etc. So realistically, they would be able to skip 40% of Toei's work. That would still leave them with a slow pacing at about 600 episodes, I am curious at how they plan to reduce the story to bite size...

Dang, there’s a total of 141 Filler Episodes in the entire nearly 1,100 Episodes Anime series. I definitely think the manga readers might get shocked there’s only 141 Filler Episodes in the entire Anime and they didn’t find every arcs are entirely filler all along.
Despite all the information out there about filler and non filler, even with re-edits combining episodes to remove filler scenes to streamline the show, the earlier arcs are quite tedious. Thank God that Thriller Bark was faster paced so it didn’t feel that long, however I hope the remaining arcs do better.

What it doesn't mention here is the filler scenes and lengthening of all battle sequences and most jokes. So even the arcs that had 0% filler like Skypeia are stretched out as far as it will go far exceeding luffys maximum gomu-gomus. It makes it feel tedious and dragged out.
The thing about One Piece is that it has a lower filler episode % compared to animes like Bleach and Naruto. But post timeskip made it so that there was less filler episodes but like a good 20% of a cannon episode was filler.
I feel like one piece for the most part does filler right, don't get me wrong I'm also not a big fan of numerous amounts of filler however I do like that whatever filler does pop up either give us more depth on the world or inside on what's going on with certain characters we've already ran across. I actually like the filler of one piece. Feels like you get to know the characters more and their adventures, and the different sides of them. Gives One Piece balance, but that’s just my opinion.

Under that context, the comment would read: 1/1 means there are two episodes, one of which is filler and one which is not, which makes 50% filler, not 100% filler.

When anime follows the manga story wise it's called "canon", and when the anime just makes a different story that doesn't follow the manga it's called filler
That's simpily episodes that doesn't have any than see with the anime
