I still use the A7ii, I don’t shoot weekly like I did some years ago but a photography canceled on a friends daughter senior prom shoot 1 day before the shoot. I couldn’t tell them I don’t shoot anymore. Felt good to dust off the A7ii , and Godox 600.
It's always such pleasure to see a photographer showing affordable gear rather than bragging about new stuff that nobody can buy, as a matter of fact I still have the legacy A7 and I used it not only got fun but also got professional shootings

@@dickymiller7196secret is most people “making a living” are actually RENTING that gear and 99% of the time it’s to impress the person paying them who thinks they know what they’re talking about tech wise 🤦♂️. Sometimes the commerce aspect of things can literally suck all of the fun and joy out of life and hobbies that are supposed to be enjoyable. I spent about $800 on my 7ii and had to work and deal with family stuff for like 2.5 years, when I finally took the camera out and set it up I started having heaps of fun and the only thing I can complain about is that it doesn’t shoot 4K video but in all actuality if you ARE shooting video and it’s for web all You need to do is light it properly these cameras look great. 4K 6k and 8k are kinda overkill if you’re uploading to UA-cam they are filmmaker resolutions that literally only make smaller level workflows unnecessarily complex. For $750 these cameras are a steal if you can get one with a lens just find a cinematographer or videographer who upgraded you can find these everywhere.
I Started Photographie as a serious hobby a year ago and bought the a7II after using my phone a couple months. Best choice i ever did and my glass collection is growing and will also be perfect with an upgrade in the future.
My friends has an a6500 and he shoot music videos with it but he titles the videos filmed using fx30 😂😂😂 all the comments are of people saying how amazing the fx30 quality looks 😂😂😂😂
Great camera for non action shots. I personally had the Rii and used it for several years until I upgraded to the Riv. It still serves me as my backup body.
I’m still rocking the a7ii shooting concerts, events and some portraitures. Just get some good glasses and also learn your camera capabilities and its behavior on different shooting situations. One thing to point out is that you can’t trust the auto white balance on this camera. I always carry a grey card with me whenever I go out. Set custom white balance and it makes processing your images much faster and reliable.
I had the A7ii but sold it and got the A6700 because I needed video in 4k, stills are great and video is 10bit so yea was a massive upgrade, solved the overheating problem with a Gammer phone cooler and a dummy battery with the battery door opened 👍🏼

I picked up a a7ii in “used” condition from best buy for only 750$ with the 28-70mm kit lens! It was a amazing deal, and it only had 185 shutter count so I’d essentially call it brand new
I shoot with my a7ii. I’m a car photographer and use a sigma 50mm f1.4 along with a sigma 20mm f1.4. One of the best cameras for your money. I’m looking into a a7IV here soon to pair with it.

I brought the sony a6000 and i fell in love with it . the one thing i wish it had was animal eye af but other than that a good lens and you cant go wrong with a6000
i use it as a video camera and its surprisingly good, i combatted the small battery by powering it by controll monitors power out and it goes on for days with that. The only thing i miss is 4k...

i cant just let go of my sony a7ii. i was planning to replace it with an a6400, but the full frame experience is just soo good, video quality on the a6400 is actually superior and crisp, but im gonna lose the handheld capabilities of the IBIS. ill stick to my a7ii for now and save up for an a7siii
i used this camera second hand for two years. It really got the job done, but i must say the autofocus is not always reliable and the video specs are practically unusable for proper video content, since its only 1080p. Only reason i upgraded was because the screen broke on me (im not sure how long this camera has been used)
Before I got it Irdk but it’s pretty worn now lol but yes the video is unusable but I’m going to try and be the one to help people get the most out of it.
If you can find an A7RII instead, it's an awesome camera. I happened to find one for $100 and now I'm completely immersed in full frame for cheap. Truly no going back now.
I'm a cell phone photographer (paid, published and exhibited) currently searching for my 1st mirrorless camera. I like the a7ii and found one with an FE 28-70mm f/3.5-5.6 OSS lens kit for $1034 new online. I thought by getting the more affordable camera to start, I could get decent lenses and upgrade the body in a couple years. Does that sound like a good fit? I shoot mostly landscapes/nature/travel stuff, no interest in portraits or video. Thanks
Not bad at all but that kit lens will be the deciding factor here, I would get the deal and then look to get a Sony or sigma 24-70mm @f2.8 constant to start
im getting mine second hand its only got 171 shutter count and its life is 2million shutters counts till you have to get a new one it comes with 4.5-6.3f/55-210mm 3.5-5.6/28-70mm lens but gonna get a 16mm 2.8f and two 256gb memo cards for 540 you reckon it good steal Nox. - Yesterday at 19:38
I have been using my a7ii for years now, while it may be lacking a lot on the video side it was able to get the job done, but it surely makes up for it with photo, the sharpness and low light capabilities still amaze me to this day. Time for an upgrade though...just ordered me an a7IV :D
Auto iso is on so it’ll read and change it if it feels it needs to, to turn it off just pick another iso above Auto which is usually at the end of the iso range and you should be good 👍🏽
I want to buy a sony and I see that the a6500 has dropped in price but I am surprised because on ebay a sony authorized seller is selling the sony a7ii for 470$. Do you recommend me to buy it over the a6500, will I take more photos than videos?
The A7II is full frame and the a6500 is crop so the price for the correct lenses will vary as full frame is a bigger sensor so the lens will cost more.

Yes very good for photo! And for a hobbyist this will be more then enough now the video is lacking bad so if your looking that route then the a7III would be the better camera.

Still a dope camera, 24mp fullframe. If you need a photography camera look no further than this because for about 1000$ brand new is sick value. The thing where it doesnt bring much to the table is unfortunately its video because it can only do 1080p. Now while I believe the video will still look good, I woudnt count on it. That being said if u need a good hybrid and plan on mostly doing video dont get this camera... If you need a second body or something for photograpy (especially if u wanna get into wedding photo or something like that) this is going to serve well.
I just upgraded from the a7ii to the a7iv and gave the ii to my gf so she can start learning photography :) I think it’s a great camera when combined with manual or vintage glass. But the AF, battery life, and menu system are big drawbacks for me. If I were to go back I would buy a used a7iii instead of a new a7ii though. Wayyyy better value proposition for the a7iii imo. I do love how compact and very well built the a7ii is though.

a7iii + 2 lenses for 300 is definitely a scam. You should appreciate your parents tbh. A7iii + 2 cheapest FE glass like kit and 50mm are easy 1500 above
Now im not throwing it under the bus , but . 1. The A7ii i herits a7i's bad iso performance as well as the green tinge issue - newer apsc camers beat it or match it in terms of iso performance actually 2. The ibis is really about 1-2 stop or 3 if youre lucky - at that price point you got the xs10 and a whole host of lumix cameras 3. It offers a terrible video option - worse than even the a6000 , thats kinda sad 4. Its also using a 117 point af hybrid like the older alphas , which is ironically worse than their apsc lineup At this point the only reason to pick up the a7ii is either you need fullframe or you want fullframe Xs10 beats it in every term other than sensor size The a6400 beats it aswell but only lacking ibis The eos rp for not a whole lot more offers a better take on the budget ff A whole host of ef cameras and lenses also await you in the budget lineup , altho dead - ef is still an overabundance of lenses
Great bit. The content is so suited for agreement, you do grwat job. But after I was in the local shop to test all brands, I could not force myself to get sony. Compared to Canon, Nikon and Fuji, this reptilian stuff is just no-go. Display output and viewfinder, controls and buttons, just NO. Unusable compared to competition. @samker5491 yes the a7iii actually has 4K at 8-bit but, if you have a bigger budget I would say go a7IV you get 4K in 10-bit 4.2.2 and also 33mp for crazy photos with room to crop.
@@adegokeadam2203 Full frame? A7 III or a Lumix S5 (if AF isn't as big a deal). Crop sensor? It depends if you need IBIS (stabilization) for movement. If not, an A6100 or Fuji X-T30 would be good starting spaces. If yes, probably a Panasonic G9 (again, if AF isn't a big deal). If you want as cheap as possible, most of the Canon Rebel/xxxD DSLR line will help you to learn for cheap.

16-35mm f2.8 constant would be great if your looking to get something wider.

There should be a target playback option in there to specify, but it only has one card slot so I’m not sure what’s causing this… honestly.

a7iii + 2 lenses for 300 is definitely a scam. You should appreciate your parents tbh. A7iii + 2 cheapest FE glass like kit and 50mm are easy 1500 above

Now im not throwing it under the bus , but .
1. The A7ii i herits a7i's bad iso performance as well as the green tinge issue - newer apsc camers beat it or match it in terms of iso performance actually
2. The ibis is really about 1-2 stop or 3 if youre lucky - at that price point you got the xs10 and a whole host of lumix cameras
3. It offers a terrible video option - worse than even the a6000 , thats kinda sad
4. Its also using a 117 point af hybrid like the older alphas , which is ironically worse than their apsc lineup
At this point the only reason to pick up the a7ii is either you need fullframe or you want fullframe
Xs10 beats it in every term other than sensor size
The a6400 beats it aswell but only lacking ibis
The eos rp for not a whole lot more offers a better take on the budget ff
A whole host of ef cameras and lenses also await you in the budget lineup , altho dead - ef is still an overabundance of lenses

@samker5491 yes the a7iii actually has 4K at 8-bit but, if you have a bigger budget I would say go a7IV you get 4K in 10-bit 4.2.2 and also 33mp for crazy photos with room to crop.

@@adegokeadam2203 Depends on budget but if you're looking for something around the same era and price range as the a7 ii then look into the a7s ii.
@@adegokeadam2203 Full frame? A7 III or a Lumix S5 (if AF isn't as big a deal).
Crop sensor? It depends if you need IBIS (stabilization) for movement. If not, an A6100 or Fuji X-T30 would be good starting spaces. If yes, probably a Panasonic G9 (again, if AF isn't a big deal).
If you want as cheap as possible, most of the Canon Rebel/xxxD DSLR line will help you to learn for cheap.
