I’m 10 rn and I’ve been practicing song as a beginner guitarist it’s a wonderful song and it’s my favorite it makes me feel so relaxed that sometimes I fall asleep whoever reading this god bless you and have a wonderful day❤
Such an easy song to play when the strumming pattern is mastered. Surprisingly satisfying to play and sing along to, always gets the hairs on my neck standing up! Thanks for posting .😊
This song takes me back to 1974. I'd recently got out of the Army, serving in 'Nam. My best friend got out of the Air Force about the same time. We were collecting unemployment so decided to head to Las Vegas from Mass. and see what we could see. A bunch of friends followed us out and we all lived in a communal house. We were surrounded by desert so different from the east coast....and this song said it all.
The Ocean is a Desert with its Life Underground, with a perfect disquise above, but the Sea has a Heart made of Ground, but the Humans would Not Show Love? Waaaat! Heavy Lyrics for the Time.. Angel ❤
Takes me to a specific time and place. 1974 or 5, fishing from a dock at sunset for smallmouth while nicely baked, glass-flat water, smell of charcoal, styrofoam cooler full of ice and Hamms, the occasional mosquito. Song on old radio back at cabin loud enough to hear, but not to ruin the peacefulness. My girlfriends hair in the setting sunlight, and that braless halter top. It's memories like this that make me think I have lived a rich life.
FYI the TAB for the Em chord that comes in at around 0:24 (when the full band comes in) is 020032. It's an E minor but with an added by (a D note) and a 9 (an F#, the note that is on the high e string, 2nd fret).
One of the most beautiful songs I just love the lyrics! I’m from the border of Mexico and cali and spent a lot of my child hood in baja and this song reminds me of that despite not hearing it until I was older :)
I was a 7 years old kid in 1972 when this song came out. This was a number one hit for the group back then. Great song. I also went to disneyworld that summer too. Thanks for the upload ! :)
That's kool you got to go to Disneyland. I was born in southern CA. Disneyland was one of our playgrounds. We were able to get in free and enjoy all the rides & attractions there. Through my dad's work is how we got in free. It was awesome. (This is a reply to Sonny)
@@debiah7736 Hi that's nice about your dads work and you got free rides because he worked there. Let me clarify. I went to Disneyworld in 1972 the one in Florida. And went to Disneyland in California in 1974. I have been to both. My family traveled a lot I was lucky. All the best. :)
@@sonnycorleone4964 That's really awesome about Disney World. I've never been there before. The farthest I've been back east is Ohio. In my family of 4, my Dad, Mom and sister were all born in Ohio. I was a southern California girl. But now I'm in the Black Hills of South Dakota.
@@debiah7736 I was one of those lucky kids. My dad was a School Principal with a lot of free time off in the summer and my family travelled the United States. That's what my family did each summer. We only missed Alaska and Hawaii.

If you use the bass ass the chord roots it could be analyzed a lot more simpler as Em7 with E in the bass to Bm7 with F# to B and D in the bass, the D6/ 9 is the same as Bm7. You just have to find the right inversion and then it is transferable to any instrument
First heard this on an episode of friends when Joey drives to Vegas, loved it ever since and I always notice when it's on, like background music in a cafe or a pub or bar, it's so relaxing. Don't make them like this anymore.

I play that song since my return from LA in 1995 where I learnt the guitar with a GIT (Musician Institute) instructor ( private lessons). I'm no musician, don't claim to be. But how can this song be so simple? Two chords, that's it? What about that little solo thing in the middle? When I was young I took some Mel Bay guitar lessons. Then, later on, I learned some pentatonic scales and the blues scale. I don't understand how it could simply be these two simple chords. Great song by the way and thanks.
