Cant fault your efforts and enthusiasm but you should remove this video as it is so wrong in many ways. First thing it will do is void your five year warrantee if the geyser is new.
Regarding the new regulations there can be never a gatevalve or any valve between the PRV and the geyser. You wil have watermeter, non return valve, gatevalve, PRV and the geyser
Vacuum breaker on the the hot water outlet must not be directly above. It must be piped 200mm minimum away and 300mm height. I'm an ex Service Technician from Kwikot and your installation does not comply with SANS REGULATION 10254. Stop misleading others. You can be prosecuted by posting a non compliant Geyser Installation on a public platform!
I dont know which edition of SANA 10254 you refer because the 2017 ed 4 makes no mention of 200mm away requirement, but it does say it must be as close as possible to the tank.
The geyser installation is Non compliant, There may not be any shut-off valve between the geyser and pressure relief valve. and the vacuyum breakers must be 300mm above the geyser..
I'm no plumber but the pressure RELIEF valve was located on the side near the outlet pipe and there isn't a stop valve in place. This is the valve that makes sure the geyser does not build up excess press and explode. The stop valve was actually located on the geyser inlet pipe and it doesn't matter if before or after, in this case, it is after the pressure REGULATOR and if inadvertently shut off, the geyser will receive no water pressure in the first place to cause an overpressure scenario. The benefit of locating the valve before the inlet regulator is that you can change the regulator which tends to fail often without isolating the main water supply to the home since it has its own stop valve. (Just my opinion that I think makes sense)
Potential bomb !! Should be Stopcock, then Pressure valve, then balance tee for cold water. Stopcock can function as a non return valve stopping your pressure relief from functioning. If you have a safety valve failure, your pressure valve (secondary safety pressure relief ) will not function then KABOOM you've just destroyed the house and maybe killed somebody.
The stopcock needs to be fitted before the prv to allow servicing of the prv and the rest of the geyser without shutting off the mains. Also, your stopcock is back to front. Your vacuum breakers also need to be 300mm above the geyser and your pipes need to be lagged
Meneer I give both up and down. The up giving general idea about geyser installations, the thumbs down is the order your installations. The stopcock after the pressure relief valve and the distance of vacuum breakers from top of heater must be 300mm.Its a good start, you'll improve if you do more research.
Good Morning Sir I really enjoyed your video. You spoke slowly , I was able to understand every word, feel confident to install or fix a geyser. Thank you for sharing video, I Pray GOD helps you get more than 200 000 views. I honestly believe that this video will help a lot of people to understand how to fix or install a pressure geyser.
My geyser is the old type. The rubber got open.and the water wet every were cos the tray wasn't under.i want to relocate it outside and fix it unto the wall i can't find the rubber which came out to buy.what do i do. No money for a new one. Please advise
The picture made me want to read the comments. Its a good illustration, but not entirely to how it should be. Take note, there is a gaurentee on the product, if it fails during that period , and not installed correctly, the replacement is a void.
Hi guys I have a vacuumed breaker that keeps steaming and the drip tray is always filled with water constantly Any ideas on how to fix or what is wrong
I ddnt know that when mounting up straight the hot water supply and TP valve s"swap places" wow thanks. To comply with SANS dont forget to put your legging on the pipes
After watching this video i can definitely tell my uncle knew nothing about installing geysers. going to my grandmother's house to rectify his mistakes before the house gets flooded. This is a very informative video indeed.
Thanks for the video. Very helpful. Please can you tell me if it is okay to install a geyser with the tank directly against a wall (i.e. touching the wall)? Or do you need to have a gap between the wall and the geyser’s tank? Why I’m asking is because I’m wondering if the cold wall touching the geyser tank would cause the geyser to cool down quicker. Thanks so much. Jacques. South Africa 👌👍
Gee Stacy -- Been checking the net -- Surprised to see you haven't posted an alternative way of installing a geyser ? I wonder why ? But I think i know ...Its because you are patently a millennial ....................... (Fill in the gap lol) '

With the new law the PRV has to be installed after the metre to balance the pressure for your house

you can mount it directly to the wall, it needs to be a strong wall not a single brick and only geysers 150L and less and the pipes need insulation

Safety valve overflows when the thermostat is faulty not because the is pressure in the tank(it only release s on the PRV)
Thats incorrect. Its a TP valve. Temperature and pressure
