I have a black cat who my family found in a pig pen. She was starving and covered in fleas. The people who owned the pig pen were gonna just put her down. We took her home, not knowing if she'd survive the night. Today she turned 10 years old, and is incredibly spoiled

Years ago my grandpa found a abandoned black kitten in his toolbox, almost mistakened it for a rat because it was so small.
Today her name is Ecco and she lives with my aunt, completely spoiled.
That first kitty is just too adorable. So glad someone saw past the little issues and saw the beautiful soul. How cool was the pirate pic. Melted my heart.
I had a black cat named Oreo who I raised from a kitten, she passed away a couple months ago in August, but I gave her the best life I could give her with what I had. She had a short life but a good one. She’s up in cat heaven now.

The Dodo Thank you the Dodo for showing black cats.My mom adopted one black tiny cat from the shelter as she was a stray.I am not into cats but from day one Beauty her name just love to share my bed and snuggle.It took me sometime to bond and she is so pampered and act like a princess .Now she is like a Queen to all my doggies and they respected her!!🐱💓😃👼💖🙇.

I have a black cat and his name is comet and he's the sweetest and friendliest cat I know. He had surgery to remove 50+ hair bands from his stomach, and ever since he's become a special Needs cat because if he gets scared or to anxious he poops, and he won't use any of the litter boxes even though we tried everything (literally) I've tried kitty Prozac but it makes him unhappy and depressed and sleepy so instead he is just his normal crazy self. Black cat deserve homes and to be loved, I work at a farm that rescues animals and they get a lot of cats and most of the black cats there were abused and hated humans and other cats. No animal should deserve to be treated differently because of what they look like, in a way it's like us how we treat people differently because of how they look, that should stop.

I remember going to the shelter and finding my cat April. She was 3 months old when I got her. A very silly black kitten with light green eyes. I wasn't planning on getting a cat that day but I had to have her. Now it's been a year and a half and she is my best friend
I love every single cat and animals in general. I have a black fluffy cat myself. Shes so playfull, sweet and cute. Shes allways there for me. I love her from all my heart.
Since we had our Sebastian when I was a kid (1965-67) black cats are legends with me. We lost our black cat in late 2019 but are still looking for the right one to replace her, maybe a Maine Coon.
I knew of a story like the window cleaner. The cat loved watching the window cleaner too. The lady took the cat to work with her every day and once a week the window cleaner came. Six months later the window cleaner and the cat's owner were married. That was almost 30 years ago.
Black cats will always have a special place in my heart. My very 1st cat when I was little was a big beautiful black Persian cat with a white spot on his chest. Today my "baby" is black with a white speck on her nose & has a cute white mug, a white chest & tummy & white paws. Tuxedo cats are the absolute most beautiful.

I know a black cat named Yoda. I have a hilarious picture of him sleeping in a position that I’ve never seen a cat sleep in before! Also, one second he will be practically BEGGING you for attention and literally like 10 seconds later he will bite you because he is having absolutely none of it and wants you to leave him alone! It hurts!😂

I had a black cat growing up. It was born on the day of birth and lived for 16 years. He lost his one eye in a fight and had his ear full of bite hole. He was the smartest cat I have ever known. I miss him a lot.

Wesley is adorable! I can't get over the picture of him with the pirate outfit on, LOL! Looks like he might have been born with his facial deformity since he looked that way as a kitten. Unfortunately, some cats who give birth to kittens like this tend to abandon them because they're unable to take care of them, especially since being born with facial deformities comes with other health issues like breathing and eating. Glad to see Wesley ended up in a good home and that he's a positive inspiration.
We rescued an abused black cat when I was just a kid, her name was Crystal. She was far too skittish to let almost anyone touch her, but her and my brother had a special bond. she stayed in his room almost all the time and he kept her safe and happy. She died last year, but we were content knowing we gave her the best life after her horrible start that we could.
My cat was a full black cat, but unfortunately she passed away on October 27th. I still miss her so much. She lived for 16 years.

I’ve never had an all black cat but the two black and white cats I’ve had were the best cats I’ve ever had. They get along well with other cats, use the litterbox appropriately, sit on your lap and cuddle. Very smart, interactive cats. Tough to find I think because people don’t give them up.

Our little slice of heaven, is our black cat Holly. She’s such a ham with the other cats and our dog. We took her in after somone found her in parking lot and couldn’t take her. She had been lethargic and dehydrated for a tiny baby, but she recovered and is now making sure we wake up on time and racing around the house playing with our two other cats. A complete sweetheart, black cats are awesome!
I have 3 cats, (Ya I'm a crazy cat lady lol) one Siamese, one black cat, and one striped orange and white cats. And I love them SOOOO MUCH. They help me a lot with my anxiety as well as my dogs lily and lucky! Animals are so amazing!!
I have a black cat named bear-bear and he is the sweetest thing ever! He loves to lay on my dad’s lap, loves being kissed on his head, and is old but fierce! He gets into a lot of fights but always ends up with just a few scratches.

I've volunteered at cat shelters and, yes, black cats seem to be the last ones to be adopted. When my Best Friend, Diego, passed away in December of 2020 I knew I wanted to adopt another black cat - and did. Fell in love with one at the shelter where I was volunteering. Prince Ramses XII. Like living with a miniature Black Panther.

When I was looking for a 3rd cat, I tried to bond with the 2 black cats at the shelter, but they didn't like me. I did bond with an orange tabby female, 3months old. My black cat (unneutered at the time) took to her instantly after she stopped being afraid. I love all of my cats. I rescued all of my cats, either from a neglectful home, found in my yard as a kitten, being rehomed, from a new litter at a friends house, or adopted from a shelter.

i adopted a black cat..well he chose me when i walked past his cage. his lil paw reached out and said "pick me plz", that was 14 years ago and hes been the best friend, buddy, and guard cat i could ever ask for.
When I went to the shelter to look for a cat to give a forever home, I found my Miko. He was a little black stray and very very sick. The lady at the shelter said, they weren't sure, he would even make it through the day. I looked at him through the glass door and as he saw me standing there, he stood up and leaned at the kennel's door- looking like a little bat with his huge ears- and started miaowing very loud. I HAD to say "hi" to him at least. When I opened the kennel he jumped into my arms right away and started purring like crazy. I knew I had found my buddy even though I couldn't take him home right away. Two months later and after many visits, he finally moved in with me! Eleven years later, he is still my best buddy and I love him to bits!
RIP, Jambo, I miss you! My black cat died of kidney failure at age 17, so he had a good long life. Now, he's in kitty heaven playing with his friends. 🐱👤💝

I have two rescue cats. Both are black with white markings. But they are still black kitties, and both of them have such interesting purrrrsonalities. While I always want more kitties, because so many need homes, I'll never give up my rescues. One was found in an alley, and the second on a golf course. I never want them to return to that. I love my furbabies with all my heart.
My Zen, bless her, lived to be 19. She was a Siamese mix. Black with a brown undercoat. When she'd fluff up, she would change color... Her meow sounded like, "Now?" 'Now?" And I would say, "No, not now.." LOL This went on for 18 years...
Awe, this also reminds me of my black kitten, Noodle, he just appeared one day, on my birthday. Noodle was a completely black kitten with a blue shine to his fur and green eyes, everything else was just black, I took the best care of him I could, and well, he just kinda disappeared the next day, I hope that, wherever he may be, that he's fine. I still get kinda sad when I see other cats because they remind me of him.
I love the daylights out of dogs, but I'm telling you, CAT'S RULE! They are so adorable, but truly it's hard to tell who is more adorable, I guess I love 'em both equally!

I have a two yr old black cat names Marcus......love him to bits. Initially I was just going to foster the little guy, but as soon as I saw him (he was about 6-8 wks) I was a gonner LOL. It would be awesome if people would set aside their superstitions about black cats and give them a chance. I had one other black cat that was a handsome tuxedo and a very vocal, he was 20+ yrs when he died. So, if there is anyone reading here, give these sweeties a chance. Maurcus' vet calls him a mini panther......it does kind of fit lol.

I have 3 black cats. The first cat name was Blessings. she was found on the roof, still a kitten. We decided to let her stay with us. She was happy and smart. Her fur was sparkling. Nobody knows that she was sick. She tried to give me a sign but I did not understand, because we had no experience. Since she passed away, the whole family is still mourning.
After one year, we found Lucky, lying on the street and covered by red ants. After visiting the doctor, we tried to raise him. She is very active, cute and smart.
Unfortunately, she could not make it because she had so many worm in tummy.
Next, we found another Blessing near the pool, very small and alone.
And...
She is with us until now, with adopted siblings and 2 dogs.
I hope they are happy and healthy

Sadly it can be harder to find homes for some of these beautiful animals on account of people's superstitious belief. I am trying to find homes for two of them at this time and shelters told us that. Those of you who commit to helping the unwanted and disabled shown here shine of humanity. Grateful to all of you.
