It is interesting to see the mainstream acceptance of the tube gun concept. I'm grateful that folks like Sig and Remington have helped drive the style of rifle into the spotlight of the mainstream. Hats off to them for helping the lay-shooter accept what was pioneered decades ago by competition shooters and custom shops' endless chase for performance. Thank you David Tubb, Bill Alexander, PO Ackley, Tac Ops, and many others.
I absolutely love my 6.5 Cross and one trick I learned. Instead of using your scope for leverage to fold your stock, use your left hand on your pistol grip. Works for me anyway.
I just think that this gun needs different calibers for this short pipe concept. Something like 270 WSM and 300 WSM - they were designed for shorter pipes.
I agree with most everything you said here. Great vid. Thanks. I haven’t had any issues with my safety selector, but I also haven’t used mine quite as much as you yet.
1:58 Hmm, "T" with a warning symbol? Was that an inadvertent missing asset from editing, or was that intentional, or was that UA-cam? After watching it in its entirety, I now see it may have been a missed asset. You have text overlay's throughout. Might have dropped the first one. Let us know if that was the case
oh me too! I just commented on it! it freaked me out a little because I already need a new phone and, I thought it was the last nail in the coffin like as if my phone was crashing out on me entirely.
I had a CROSS, and had no issues with it, and when they had the issue with the "bolt send" I didn't have any issue, but I sent mine in on their recall, just to be safe. They had it so long, that I forgot what caliber it was, and then so long, that I forgot I even had the dang thing, to the point, that I purchased another rifle system...LOL... It is what it is, I am not mad at Sig over that, I am proud that they stepped up and requested all of them back to fix the issue or would be issue. When I got mine back after like 8 to 9 months, I got a call from my FFL telling me my toy is here, I got so excited, that I was thinking it was another toy I had just ordered like 2 days before, (again, I forgot all about the CROSS) I was like, "WOW, that was fast ordering and shipping on my new toy"... I cut out of work, race to the gun shop, and Oh, its the CROSS.... Well, I was so disappointed (nothing against the CROSS) but I was so excited to and had my hopes on playing with my new toy... I hadn't taken the unit off the paper work with a signature yet, and another customer was there asking if they had any SIG CROSS's in stock, that guy, who I know, asked if I was willing to sell it to him, so I asked the gun shop what it is worth, and Found out later, I had $400 bones on that deal over what I paid for the unit... But, the guy who runs that CROSS now, runs the daylights out of it, all the issues were worked out while I owned, which means, I only got to send about 25 to 50 through the unit. As I understand the new owners mission, he always has a new barrel, (not installed yet) as he is counting to see how many the factory barrel will hold.... I might buy another unit, one of the revised units that from the factory already has the changes from the gen#1's
🤔Interesting. I got one as soon as I could find it, before Nutn even posted that video. Never had any issue, but decided to send it back Mar 2021 and got it back the next month. Mine is a 308 with PST gen2 5-25 scope, magpul bipod, B&T monopod and keymo brake. My favorite 308 bolt action, it has all the features that make it super comfortable to use without being heavy or expensive.
The safety drum blocks the sear from rotation within the first 10 degrees of rotation, the "cam" that you feel in the last 55 degrees of rotation is the safety drum camming against the sear, dislocating it from the trigger bar. The gun has a double action safety, it blocks the sear and also picks up the trigger bar, so it is absolutely safe, most people are just used to an AR15 safety detent and expect the feel of that.
You didn't get the point. It's not unsafe because the rifle is able to shoot from that position. It's unsafe because it's not 100% clear for anyone looking at it whether it's safe or not.
Handloading in my experience can turn an okay rifle into a pretty good one, a good one into a great one, or a great one into a phenomenal one but every now and then you'll get one that makes you want to pull your hair out... LOL I've shot one of these in 6.5 Creedmoor and 308 I've also shot that rifle Q came out with and they're not for me but I get what they're trying to do and can see why so many people like them... I think one of these in 6.5 Grendel or 6mm ARC would make a sweet little coyote up to white tail deer gun. You wouldn't lose anything ballistically with the shorter barrel because it's a bolt action instead of an AR15 so you could get the pressures up higher. Great video as always keepem coming brother!!!
If Sig came out with a Cross in 6mm ARC I’d have to seriously consider saving up to buy one. I wish I could say Grendel but I got a CZ bolt gun in 6.5 Grendel as soon as it was available and I found out the most recoil my rebuilt shoulder can take is a Grendel gas gun. Such is life. 6 ARC ain’t a bad runner up.
With them expanding the lineup to a long action, I wouldn’t be surprised if they also added a micro action as well. Probably not till after the long has been out for 2yrs because that just makes better market sense. This was designed as a precision hunting rifle, and while 99% of my gun use today is hunting (minus CCW), I spent a lot of time in LE. This would make a GREAT patrol precision rifle! I’d be interested to see if the rifle performs better with the hotter Hornady SuperFormance line of ammo. I kinda suspect that it simply isn’t getting adequate velocity for better stabilization. For it to be slinging similar or even the same bullet different between factory and hand loaded ammo and the primary difference is velocity? Sounds like a 20” barrel might just be the ticket to even things up a hair.
I took mine to the range yesterday for its first outing. Berger 130gr OTM went .462", .558", 1.06", .574" 3-shot groups for break-in. Similar scope choice, VX3 3.5-10x. Super light and compact, mine has the same "detent" in the safety where it doesn't cam over but in handling I've developed a sense for forcing it over as being the tactile indication that I'm on safe or not. I wish it was flick-and-forget though.
I just purchased a Springfield Armory Waypoint 6.5PRC that I’ve been looking for & wanting for almost 1 1/2 years. I am impatiently waiting on the .277 Fury Sig Cross!!!!
Thier lack of QC is my biggest issue with sig. If you look at the first releases of the cross... And now with the safety selector not pinning to complete safe via sight of it. And thier response to you is concerning. I agree a firearm ABSOLUTELY needs to clear as to its current state! Awesome video! I personally am a fan of the cross as I've got it in the 6.5 as well! Thanks again for taking the time to make this video
@Michael Lawrence I'm willing to bet it's money. I always hated when people would say the government contracts for weapons went to the lowest bidder. But now I honestly believe it. The government is now purchasing Chinese made optics for their weapons rather than better quality, more expensive US made ones. And I'm also willing to bet Sig is giving them one hell of a deal just to have their name out there
Three shot groups will tell you a lot more if you Aggregate them. Measure the Agg of those 3 shot groups & I reckon they'll Agg in at an inch or maybe more. A more realistic approach that I have done to give myself a more truthful idea of the repeatability of my rifle is to take single shots at different targets using the gear & position[s] I'll be using while hunting. After measuring the Agg, the story is often quite different to shooting at a bench in ideal circumstances.
I am a convert to the 6.5Cm cartridge and my son has the Cross fever. I started loading for the 6.5Cm a couple years to feed my Savage 12FV, like you stated factory ammo is terrible for the most part. My first handloads using Win 748 and cheap PPU 120gr OTM bullets went into a 5 shot group measuring .048" and I've had similar performance from most powders I've used. That being said my son has a Cross in 6.5Cm on order and I told him I would buy it off him if he wanted another in .277 Fury or a long action caliber later on. He works for a security firm and has handled the Cross and fired one at SIG and has just fallen in love with it, he back packs and hunts so it's right up his alley and I'll hopefully get a deal on it and slip in a 22" tube. Yup, already making plans.
There actually coming out with caliber convertion kits with different barrel lengths up to 24" so you can just switch between the short actions quite quickly one set screw for the bolt face two for the barrel and the head space is pre set for each caliber threw the barrel chassis Union
Great Revisit Review. I own the .308 version and love it. Critics: 1) Same issue with the safety throw and the additional ledge when switching on/off. (I was an early adopter and that wasn’t there prior to recall. Post-recall and it was noticed.) 2) Folding stock screws. They backed out, but luckily not in the field. A note to always tighten before going on a hunt, or to the range. 3) (and this is self inflicted) it weighs more than one would think with the scope base (I use a MIdwest Industries QD mount) so with optic, I’m close to 9 lbs. 4) wish they would make the orange followers for the magazines available to purchase. I have larger mags that i bought early on and, to date, you have to buy the exclusive SIG mags to get the hop-up follower. Work Arounds: 1) that rail gets COLD! I’m embarrassed (or proud) to say that I cut a small section of pipe insulation and rattlecanned it to use when holding for long periods in the woods. Otherwise… she’s a beaut!
So what’s the deal with the mags? Is it a base Magpul AICS pattern with a proprietary follower? This is one difference between the Cross & the Fix that I think the Fix fixed, albeit because they serve different roles. The Fix being more of a tactical role uses LR308 mags, vs the Cross being a dual purpose competition and hunting rifle had to be legal to hunt with everywhere so uses a lower capacity magazine.
@@soonerfrac4611 can’t speak for the FIX, but yes, these followers are proprietary to SIG. I purchased several of the AICS mags and, while they certainly work, these orange followers allow (in my opinion) for you to single load a round without contact. I’ve been wrong before.😁
@@workdragoon9484 so my rifle is currently at Sig. It was disqualified from a “Long Range Hunting Course” (out to 500) but wouldn’t group well enough at 100 yards to continue. Big lesson here. If I had the pocket money back I would go with the WayPoint 2020. Another UA-camr mentioned his issue was the torque on his muzzle brake. This makes sense. But Sig is charging an additional $50 to perform further troubleshooting. I was shooting 165 Federal Fusion. Just disheartening to have your dream rifle disqualified (confirmed by 2 additional professional shooters) and have to use a “loaner” rifle to complete the 2 day course. Proceed with caution on the Cross!
My 6.5 Cross loves Sellier & Bellot in 140grn. It does not like the 143 and 156grn offerings from the same manufacturer. I absolutely love the gun based on its accuracy, portability and ergonomics. I may actually purchase another in the future when additional calibers become available.
Thanks Jim! I have a few friends that have the cross and they are always bragging about the groups they shoot. Some people need to relax a little with giving you hell on 3 shot groups. I'm going to pick one up probably this week. And I'll also head over to the website and check out your recipe. 🤘🏻
my rattler is also very ammo sensitive. I think most sig guns are ammo sensitive. However when you find something it likes the performance puts a smile on your face!
love my sig cross, super lightweight, sub-moa groups with 308 16" barrel, 3 quarters moa on a good day. there need to be more aftermarket upgrade options on this rifle
I’m glad to hear this review. I’ve been eyeing this rifle for over 6 mos and just pick up the 308 camo version. . The only thing now is I need to get a suppressor. Was thinking of the banish30? Wdyt? Don’t know much about them. But they have a deal going on bogo right now. Gotta do my home work. But this is a item I wish I could test before buying. Just not excited of the price of their mag prices
Interesting on the short barrels. I've got a few shorties and they started out long. In my experience rifles always become less picky with short barrels. The frequency of a node will change but I'm not convinced that it will shrink. If anything the added stiffness should increase the nodes. Just my thoughts that are formed from my observations.
I love my cross, I remember a bunch of tubers giving it a bad review when it was released, but I've been pleased with mine since the first trigger pull.
Yeah I was considering to buy sig cross , but I guess I will just stay with my Tikka T3X, it does very well what I need and the price is just right, so I will just invest in reloading components and hunting gear
I am trying to get my first rifle. When I mention that I want to try a Sig Cross I always get talked into getting a Remington 700 or Tikka T3X. I am intrigued by the light weight and doable precision this Sig Cross rifle has to offer. I would be doing target shooting maybe a few times a year, and also some hunting once every other year. Mind you I haven't talked to anyone which have tested a Sig Cross, so I'm not sure yet what to make of their opinions.
I’ve been having the same problem. I think because it’s not the traditional stock style rifle for hunting ppl get weird about it. I’m still stuck on what to get but I always come back to this. The sig cross. I just like the style the look the brand. A lot about it. Just the only thing is it’s not the traditional rifle ppl hunt with. No one likes change until more and more do it then it’s the new good thing
Saftey to me on guns are when I'm with buddies or newbies . When I shoot, im usually alone. 90% of the time I keep it off saftey and hot if I'm shooting, idk if I'm the only one who trusts myself 100% to remember it's hot but I will agree the saftey switch should go all the way because I'm paying over 1k for a sig not a high point
I have this rifle in .308. Wanted something lighter and "better" for the woods than my AR10 (and I am really big into "tactical" style rifles, not a fan of "traditional" hunting rifles). I haven't shot it yet, but now I am really anxious to!!
Definitely an awkward folding stock. I use knuckle of my thumb to push the stock lock button and then press on the bolt guide area with the tip of my thumb simultaneously while four fingers under stock pull up and fold. Works for me.
Thanks for this video. I know it’s old, but you have convinced me to look for something else. I don’t care how accurate a weapon is if it’s not safe to use (both when I do and don’t want to fire). For a gun at this price point, it is truly unacceptable!
I just watched your review and now re-review. Mine is currently on order! I'll keep the .308 barrel for funsies, but my plan for it is to drop a 20" 7mm-08 1:8 barrel from Straight Jacket and make it my forever mountain gun.
I tried one yesterday! Even with a Schmitd & bender on the top it was super light and it was for sure sub moa. I was not convinced at all at first but now, I need one! And I will be able to test it at minus 30°C or below.
I bought it against many peoples advice. I absolutely love this gun. I can’t wait for more barrels to come out. It’s light, comfortable to shoot, packages up nice and tight, works great suppressed, and the controls are fantastic. Minus the safety is a little annoying.
I agree, this was a great review. And I don't even own a Sig Cross. However, the fact that it comes from the factory looking and acting like a chassis is what makes it, in my opinion, a solid shooter. In the case of this rifle, there is no bedding. The action is essentially the stock and the barrel is truly free-floated with a great handguard that makes it easy to fire, even when hot and you can rest on a towel on a rock, or a tripod, or vise tripod, or off-hand. Here is what I have learned. Most traditional style stocks, especially toward the budget end, will have problems with bedding. Most of the longer running fans of Backfire, such as myself, remember the channel having problems with the Mossberg Patriot .243. 5 inch groups, that is not acceptable anywhere. And they sent the rifle to warranty and it came back and was still shooting wild. Granted, I did not have groups that bad with my Patriot .308 and I chalk up some of my 2 MOA groups to not being a good enough shooter, yet. Long story longer, I had put my Patriot in an MDT chassis and it got reliably 1 MOA after 60 rounds of not resting, other than reloading mags. I drive that gun like I drive my car, like I "stole it." Run hard, this is not a toy. Recently, I thought if trying it again in the plastic stock from the factory to see if being lighter was possible. So, I am tightening down the action screws and the rear one is making a clicking noise and won't set. On the Patriot, there is no pillar bedding and it uses the back flange of the mag well as a spacer. And that had cracked. So, I put some gorilla glue on it. Still would not set. I looked and where the rear action screw goes is a gap in the form of the stock. I thought I had broken it. I ordered a new stock from the company's storefront, this time, OD green. Received it, same thing. And I could not get the rear action screw to commit to some tightness. So, I put it back in the chassis, which is aluminum all the way with a v channel and I can torque to an authoritative 60 in-lbs. Therefore, what I think the greatest problem for Backfire's Patriot, which was not the rifle and that rifle could probably shoot 1 to 1.5 MOA in a solid stock or chassis, was the plastic stock with the gap at the rear action screw. The problem is that the rear of the action could move, using the front action screw as a fulcrum point. They were lucky to get on paper. So, I would say, if you are getting a budget rifle, and they can shoot great without costing a lot, plan on changing to another stock or chassis. I happen to like chassis systems. Even though my TC Compass II .308 was averaging 1/2 in, I put it in an Oryx and it is going to do as well or better. The TC stock does have pillar bedding and a better stock. Or, a person could get this Sig Cross that gets rid of the say and teeter totter of cheap stocks.
@@TeensierPython Do you have Sig Cross in your inventory? And who is selling or advertising it as a sniper rifle? Any rifle, actually, can be a "sniper" rifle. For the longest time, the armed forces used rifles that were wooden stocks. What made them a sniper rifle was the guy shooting it. Take an M-24 and give it to a PFC fresh out of boot and it is a rifle. Give to a sergeant in the 1st Ranger Battalion 75th Ranger Regiment who's docs actually show the MOS of sniper, and it is now a 'sniper" rifle. I could get a Windham Weaponry 450 Thumper, which is the .450 Bush Master. Good for about 100 yards. Big and scary black gun with an MLOK hand guard and a Magpul PRS Gen III adjustable stock. But not hardly a "sniper rifle" because the snipers I have studied, such as Ryan Cleckner, sgt in the Ranger 1-75 for several tours, were expected to train to at least 800 yards. Or do I misunderstand sniper rifles? And most guys into rifles, even for hunting, would not call this a sniper rifle unless totally infected with "Fudd" disease.
@@ronws2007 It was hard to sell because it looks tactical/sniper/military. Hunters in my area don't want something that doesn't look traditional. Most use wood stocked rifles. Probably mostly "Fudd Disease."
I like this rifle. Seems to have a few advantages over the RPR. The fury sounds cool, but I would bet ammo would be hard to come by & very expensive. A PCF barrel would be great, but then you're looking @ a 50% increase in the current gun price. SIG needs to offer more calibers, like double the current offerings. I can't believe it's not already offered in 6mm CM.
I remember Nutnfancy got the gun to go off with that safety issue which makes it frightening that Sig makes light of the issue. None the less this firearm is not available in my country so its not really a factor for me. Still an entertaining video tho :)
5 or 10 shot groups man. These are statistically insignificant. It looks like a cool gun though, I have a Q fix 16 inch in 6.5 creedmoor and love it. It shoots .6 inch groups or less with handloads in 10 shot groups at 100 yards. I don’t deer hunt as I don’t have patience to hike in and and out then have pack it out, but it’s a great hog eradication gun with the 120 grain Hornady CX. I get .70 groups and it hits them so hard.
I would curl up in the fetal position and cry like a baby child if I had to choose between them. Both great, but just totally different styles of gun. It’s possible I’d pick the cross.
I think it should have gotten “Rifle of the year.” You sold the “Winner” and it’s my contention that regardless of caliber you hang onto the best rifle, and you did.
@Backfire Hey mate you have a *telegram* *channel* .. I think it will be worth using that *inactive* channel and sharing the *restricted* *content* about *reloading*
@@backfire this would make a great review comparison. Both great propositions, but as you say styles a different. Head to head, what are the pros/cons. What style of shooting is favoured by each?
Cross is far far cheaper. Hard time justifying a gun that does the same thing for 2x the price. Buy the cross and have enough money left over to buy a scope, or loading set up, extra mags, more ammo, second or third barrel, another rifle, handgun, or a hunting trip. Spend twice the money to impress your friends I suppose.
I rented a 308 cross at Clark County Shooting complex in Vegas. I didn't like how close the safety was to my thumb, it kept hitting it on recoil. I also wish they put the bolt lever on the left side so I can keep my trigger finger happy. The range had the scope way to close, so it was very difficult to get a view (Not gun problem)
Agreed, I'd like to see sig do a 6mmARC version with that two pieces case system. I imagine you could push a ~103 grain vld out of a 16 in barrel around 2700 fps given some of the numbers we have from the furry. Be awesome in an AR for hunting and PRS
I've been wanting to get this rifle since it was first released, until I read about the discharge problems and the recall. It seems they've fixed the problem!
Yes exactly. SIG USA isn't the same as SIG Germany. That being said: now is probably a good time to get one and it's probably better than ever. After a recall I can guarantee they've upgraded their quality and reliability a lot.
Thank you for the review. My Son and I both bought this same rifle. We are also just getting into reloading. Would love to know your recipe for the loads you built. Bullet weight and powder brand/measure?
I have a 6.5 creedmore RPR that shoots factory match .5 moa , only drawback is it weighs too much to lug through mountains , perhaps the sig cross is the solution…
To be honest I have lost about all interest in it myself. I was hyped about the 277 Fury until I found out about the civilian version just being a neutered version of what the military is getting. Sig Sauer is also very good at telling the civilian market that they’re not concerned as they charge the living hell out of you for a firearm.
@@shveril9513 from everything I have seen the civi version will be in the 50k realm not 80k like the Military version. So that is nothing special on that aspect. With a 338 lapua running around 62-65k psi your standard brass case is not gonna handle the juice
My 5rd mags feed well, but their 10rd mags with the SIG cross follower tip the last couple rounds down and don't feed for me. It handled the dirt and grit from a very windy 2 day NRL Hunter match I just got back from.
I just got one 18' 6.5 cr3ed. I ultimatley chose the cross over a waypoint for overall length. Had issues on groups at first but went down to 130 gr and its lights out
The halfway safety position is complete garbage but you didn’t mention my biggest issue with the sig cross. The picatinny rail shares the front mount screw with the front grip and if an mlok mounting screw contracts the barrel it will move the rail enough to be significantly off at 100 yards (8” in my case. I mounted a battery holder to the side of the front grip) the sharing of a screw and the mlok screws will contact the barrel taper, pushing the picatinny slightly to one side.
Did you notice any improvement with the factory ammo, when used in conjunction with the suppressor? You would think that if the warmer load only really increased velocity that if you could achieve similar velocity to the standard length barrel by adding the suppressor that you might correct the issue using the factory ammo
Love my cross. Iv barely shot it but I’m going to load some hand loads for it soon and see how it shoots. Have you shot any Hornady 143 grain eldx factory ammo out of it. I bought 100 rounds for it. Thanks for the review!
Give your barrel a light spray of Napier oil or one good for corrosion, it turns into a mist that will get to most parts of the barrel under the shroud
@@redleg84 It's about statistical significance, not long strings. The timing between shots can be as long as you want. It wasn't consistent, even in the video, the group placement was often different, so if he shot two of the 3-round groups as 6-round groups, they would have been significantly worse. Small groups like that tend to inflate the "accuracy" of a rifle
@@CharlieMikeNS I see what you're saying, I had to go back and look at the group location on the target. If he overlayed the targets he'd have a significantly larger group. Makes sense. I often will shoot 3 round groups with real thin sporter barreled rifles. I'll have to look back to see if the point of impact is different.

I like mine a lot more than I thought I would and it's still growing on me. Thanks for the video.
I just recently purchased a Christensen Arms MPR 6.5 creed.Love it.
How do you like it? I’m considering to buy it
I have one in .308 and it shoots lights out! It only has a .5 inch POI shift between suppressed and unsuppressed which is very good!
Which ammo does it like best? 168gr? Got one on order and need to start looking
@@fergotti Mine shoots 150gr off the shelf very well as well as 165 Scirrocco.
They have unfortunately been having QC issues for years, the MCX, MPX, P320, now the Cross too
@@ICECOLDOUTDOORS You are correct, which makes me curious as to why the US government has jumped on with sig in nearly all platforms.
I have viewed both of your reviews and others as well on the SIG CROSS, and it appears to be an excellent hunting rifle.
In the market for my first bolt rifle and this is pretty high on my list, thanks for the review
Great Revisit Review.
I own the .308 version and love it.
Critics:
1) Same issue with the safety throw and the additional ledge when switching on/off.
(I was an early adopter and that wasn’t there prior to recall. Post-recall and it was noticed.)
2) Folding stock screws.
Work Arounds:
1) that rail gets COLD!
I’ve been wrong before.😁
@@AlabamaPilgrim333 what ammo have you found to work the best with your set up?
@@AlabamaPilgrim333 are these issues still on going with current production of this rife? or has sig addressed any of what seem to be on going issues?

My 6.5 Cross loves Sellier & Bellot in 140grn. It does not like the 143 and 156grn offerings from the same manufacturer. I absolutely love the gun based on its accuracy, portability and ergonomics. I may actually purchase another in the future when additional calibers become available.
I have a Howa that's the same way. Love's the S&B 140. Shoot's tighter groups consistently over Hornady match 140s
Thanks Jim! I have a few friends that have the cross and they are always bragging about the groups they shoot. Some people need to relax a little with giving you hell on 3 shot groups. I'm going to pick one up probably this week. And I'll also head over to the website and check out your recipe. 🤘🏻
If I hadn't gotten a Savage 10 GRS before the Cross came out I'd be really happy with one. Love the light weight and modulatrity.
my rattler is also very ammo sensitive.

My experience as well. I really have found anything 22” or under easier to tune.
Dude that's an awesome setup in Rem 260.
Why?
Thank you sir! Been waiting for this re-review!!
Can’t go wrong with a Tikka but if you love the Cross, get it.
Looks really good. I like a bit longer barrel. Well done. Thank you
Thanks for the heads up!
Thanks again for all of your review, appreciate all your hard work.
Great presentation style. Thank you. Kind regards from Good old Germany
I have this rifle in .308. Wanted something lighter and "better" for the woods than my AR10 (and I am really big into "tactical" style rifles, not a fan of "traditional" hunting rifles). I haven't shot it yet, but now I am really anxious to!!
I hope you got around to shooting it, how does it perform in .308?
Definitely an awkward folding stock. I use knuckle of my thumb to push the stock lock button and then press on the bolt guide area with the tip of my thumb simultaneously while four fingers under stock pull up and fold. Works for me.
Thanks for this video. I know it’s old, but you have convinced me to look for something else. I don’t care how accurate a weapon is if it’s not safe to use (both when I do and don’t want to fire). For a gun at this price point, it is truly unacceptable!
Would love to see a review of the cross vs the q fix from you!
I'm pretty sure the safety on the cross is the same as an Ar.. drop the pistol grip and clean the crud out of the cam on the safety selector switch.
I just watched your review and now re-review. Mine is currently on order! I'll keep the .308 barrel for funsies, but my plan for it is to drop a 20" 7mm-08 1:8 barrel from Straight Jacket and make it my forever mountain gun.
I'd really like to see you review one of the new Bergara offerings with the CURE barrel. Either the Mg lite of my preference the Divide.
I tried one yesterday! Even with a Schmitd & bender on the top it was super light and it was for sure sub moa. I was not convinced at all at first but now, I need one! And I will be able to test it at minus 30°C or below.
I'm really drawn to chassis guns like the cross but the handguard is what gets me. It looks like a mud collector and a pita to clean.
@@ronws2007 I sell firearms. Selling the Cross is difficult; nobody wants a “sniper” rifle.
A sig cross in 300 wsm would be amazing backpack set up
I remember Nutnfancy got the gun to go off with that safety issue which makes it frightening that Sig makes light of the issue.
After seeing your love for the Springfield Waypoint, would you take the Sig Cross over the waypoint?
I would curl up in the fetal position and cry like a baby child if I had to choose between them. Both great, but just totally different styles of gun. It’s possible I’d pick the cross.
I think it should have gotten “Rifle of the year.” You sold the “Winner” and it’s my contention that regardless of caliber you hang onto the best rifle, and you did.

I think the gun will become a very viable option now that it's available in .277 fury
Agreed, I'd like to see sig do a 6mmARC version with that two pieces case system. I imagine you could push a ~103 grain vld out of a 16 in barrel around 2700 fps given some of the numbers we have from the furry. Be awesome in an AR for hunting and PRS
Agree the 277 fury is a beast 80k psi

I've been wanting to get this rifle since it was first released, until I read about the discharge problems and the recall. It seems they've fixed the problem!
Yes exactly. SIG USA isn't the same as SIG Germany. That being said: now is probably a good time to get one and it's probably better than ever. After a recall I can guarantee they've upgraded their quality and reliability a lot.
Thank you for the review. My Son and I both bought this same rifle. We are also just getting into reloading. Would love to know your recipe for the loads you built. Bullet weight and powder brand/measure?

That trigger reset issue is huge. It's about to be a recall from what I understand. Looks like it's about 1 in 10 rifles.
I really wish they would release more calibers. Specifically 7mm PRC would be really nice.
Thanks.
I will get one when more calibers are available.
I agree on the safety.
I just got one 18' 6.5 cr3ed. I ultimatley chose the cross over a waypoint for overall length. Had issues on groups at first but went down to 130 gr and its lights out
Just got a Cross in 308. Happy so far.
Awesome video!

Great review
I have been wanting one so bad.... with how many guns this guy has he could own youtube
Got the same. Love it.
The trigger is also adjustable.
I don't really think a 3-round group is representative of a rifle's capabilities. 5 rounds is the minimum in my opinion, and 10 rounds is ideal.
I know 6.5 is hard to come by, but I agree. I don't call it a group until 5.
If it's consistent group to group how is that not showing its capabilities? Does a hunting rifle need to be able to shoot long strings?
@@redleg84 you can still shoot 5 shot groups with a thin barrel, just give it a few minutes between shots. That is what I do with my Tikka super lite in 300 win mag.
