My pregame routine is very precise, here it is At home: 1 hour before the game take a cool shower that is precisely 2:44 seconds. 45 minutes before we leave dribble for 15 minutes. Do 50 squats and 20 lunges, Get dressed after the exercise. Eat 1 peanut butter jelly sandwich(can be substituted for a meat sandwich) Drink one cup of water after finished. At Court: Stretch my Achilles and my legs arm circles and stretch each arm and leg for 10 seconds each. Dribble for a one minute and don’t mess up. Make one three point shot. Alternate block layups, then do finger roll layups. 10 squat jumps.
The only superstitions I have is that the right elbow pad goes on before the left and the left glove goes on before the right, then I fist bump myself. Things like which shin pad, which sock or which arm I put into the jersey first don't matter. The only other thing that may be considered a superstition is that I look at which sock is the most worn out and put that one on my right leg but that has more to do with the fact I tend to wear out/rip the right sock as I'm a right handed shot so a one knee one timer is me putting my right knee on the ice. Oh and I won't put my sticks at the door with everyone elses before the game, they stay beside me and nobody touches them, after the game I don't care as long as they aren't left outside the dressing room as I had several sticks stolen when I was younger because they were left outside the room as we got undressed
sid asked geno about the line up. usually the captain or whoever played longer goes last on the ice. geno replied "2 year super league" referring to his two years in Russia
back when i used to play semi pro hockey i had a ritual that i did before every game, 1 hour of naked yoga wearing only my goalie mask, and in the 6 years i played before a career ending injury, only time any pucks got passed me was 4 separate games, when i was late from traffic and didnt have time for an hour of naked yoga. and i would do this in the locker room regardless of who was there, this one time our local radio was doing a piece on our team and the radio host was this like 20 year old women, she got in the locker room to interview our team, and when i got there i stripped off, put on the mask and started doing the yoga right next to her, even did a small interview about my pre game ritual while doing it. funniest part was that when i got home and listened to the segment (my sister recorded it for me) you could physically tell when the radio host was distracted by certain yoga moves by her trailing off for a moment

It was amazing of the NHL to finally gift Borque a Stanley Cup in 00-01. They felt it was his time, and they made sure his name ended up engraved on the cup.
@beyond_thebench If you ever have the time, go back and watch game 6, calls were so lopsided, then watch game 7, devils were in the box the entire game.
@@Mattyboy2085 Ya I don’t recall those games vividly but will definitely check em out. The narrative was on favour of the Avs that year because of him for sure. Are you a Devils fan?
@beyond_thebench yes and I still get annoyed by it from time to time, like a loser. As far as your awesome video, Ed Belfour would never let anyone else touch his gear. That 99 team playing Pantera's Puck off at home and on the road to win the cup Craig Ludwig said it became a superstition to listen to it between periods.

In the 1975:playoffs the ranger islander series was a best of three the Islanders fell behind three games to none against the Pittsburg penguins and rallied to win the series in 7 games
Ray Borque is the reason why we have hooded sweatshirts with skate laces
😂😂😂
Lmao
I play sledge hockey so my superstition is reading inspirational quotes from kevin rempel
I know Kevin Rempel actually, good Ontario boy. Have read his book!
the '75 Islanders came back from down 3-0 in games to the Penguins, not the Rangers. They eliminated the Rangers in 3 games the round prior
You’re right! We got our rounds mixed up. Thanks for correcting!
I go with a cup of coffee (black) and a beer before each game and always put my pads on in the same order.
Beer before?? Love that! Haha
