Im about to be 44 and the comment took me back to the days my dad used to take me to Good Guys to get a new game. The smell in the store was a unique one. When you took the plastic off a new game there was this unique smell. I remember it like it was yesterday. This video gets a like off of that comment alone! 💯🙏🏾🕊
All 05 games were top tier! Unrivaled! From 05-07 at most 08 were the best. Ever since then, they’ve dove off of a cliff. The biggest thing holding this game back, the graphics and the mechanics(how they players ran and what not). That’s only compared to today. But man, I wish they’d go back to this kind of game
One of the best features of NFL2K5 on the xbox was being able to use songs you ripped to the HD to play over the stadium PA system during key plays. You could pick any song and then edit it to start at any point in the song and create the end point when it stopped playing. For example I had the Chef song from South Part "Chocolate Salty balls". When my team got a sack you would hear Chef sign over the PA system "Ooh suck on my chocolate salty balls, put in your mouth and suck um"
I just started playing 2k5 again a few days ago, it’s still one of my favorite games of all time. Then I stumbled upon your video, and man you have a soothing voice. I only wished that the AI QB play was a little better
Amazing. How its been 2 generational consoles and 18 years later and this game is still better than anything Madden puts out. I hope 2K gets a chance to make NFL games again
I remember buying this game and just being delighted knowing that the future of video game football was so bright. I looked forward to buying this title every year… and I am still waiting… I get depressed every time I stoop to playing Madden. 😢

Love this retrospective man, takes me back to simple times lol. I had a similar situation, for Christmas 2004 my mom got my big bro and I not just a new copy of NFL 2K5 (I messed up the first copy lol), but also College Hoops 2K5 (We also had NBA 2K5). Sports games peaked in 2005, yeah you had some good Maddens (PS2/Xbox era 07-08 goated), some NBA 2K on next gen, MLB the Shows and FIFA’s but we will never reach the zenith of 2005 sports games.

@cabdragon333 You and me BOTH lol. I downloaded this sales paper that had Madden 2005 AND ESPN NFL 2K5 and the standard PS2 price compared to 2K5 just blows my mind lol.
Yes, being able to copy our music to the hdd allows us to have songs play during our games.. for anything: kickoffs, scores, sacks, Ints, turnovers.. along with video for halftime/post game highlights In season sportscenter highlights too PS2 with hdd helps close the gap but xbox version is better

Sports Center back in the day was the best. This game was it for me. I still play to this day.
