The fact you got your old job back within 10 minutes of making a phone call to your old boss speak volumes for the respect he has for you. Having a good reputation for being a good driver goes so incredibly far in this industry.
I was working with this bloke one time and he told me that his boss refused payment for a week and he also was in a SAR. He was interstate at the airport at the time and parked her up after dropping off freight was told no wages were forthcoming. He went to the parking bay for taxis in front of the main entrance, pulled the maxis on, got his gear out. Locked her up and left it running. Went inside and bought a ticket to Melbourne. Boomshanker 👍
I bet the boss would love the fines he got for that one! Then again he prob filed for bankruptcy after stashing as much cash as he could so prob didnt care.....
Good to tag along again my friend. Life is all about hellos and goodbyes, one door closes and another opens. You look back and remember all the battle's you conquered. You're a good guy, good driver and you are respectful, these things follow you around, like a shadow, people remember.
Hey mate, video has just popped up. And I know exactly how you feel as I was the young fella who was ringing you and old mate to find out when my (PacLease) K200 was coming back. I was telling a mate when all this was happening and he said that you do vlogs of your trips. I agree 💯 with you about the OPs manager (dealt with him just before he joined the boss as well) great guy but yes becomes childish when he knows something is wrong. We were told the same thing about the overnight funding pulled, but the other driver of my Legend warned us a week before and dropped the truck off to B&H Caboolture where I picked it up from because he wasn’t being paid. I also had to go and repo the other K200 30 mins away from us. Yes the plan was to leave you both in Perth but I said to my boss “do we really want to fly over and do the trip back ?” So I made the call to the OPs manager and said for you guys to go back to Brisbane as it’s easier than Perth lol. Then you rang and said change of plans we are going to Melbourne and my heart sunk because I told my boss it’ll be ok these two guys have assured me they will bring the truck back. As far as I’m concerned the boss doesn’t have a heart at all could never get a straight answer out of him. Hope things are going well for you now mate.
Another great video, sorry to hear of your job circumstances, dumping you on the other side of the country like that is inexcusable but it's good you and your mate had a get you home plan in the K200. Good news you got your old job back for you as well as us on UA-cam, your videos are very informative, entertaining and well done. I love the camera position in the cab showing the road ahead and the in cab happenings, driving etc. Keep it shiny side up and all the best for you and your family in 2024.
new sub here bro these vlogs are means as i love the editing and all!and i actually watched the vlog without skipping which is rare as lol keep it up bro churr
Sorry to hear how it all ended. When i saw the thumbnail i thought there is only one place that far from the east. Hopefully you are settling back in to old ( new ) job. Great it all worked out for you to get to Melbourne. Take care and will catch up again. Big hugs to all the family Jacques.
Bro, I sold everything and moved my family to Perth in 1999. I read an article in an Aussie trucking magazine and thought great, I’m gonna ring this bloke and see if I can drive for him. Ended up working for that guy for 4 years. Stuck by him through three different companies lol and at the time he was one of the most notable/notorious owners in Perth. The fuel card thing is a dead giveaway lol.
Great blog bro. I used to do that run out of Syd for Shaw's Darwin transport single driver, lots of great memories just watching, also did Syd to Darwin. Whenever you do a Darwin run that will be good to watch . I also did Darwin out of Perth. Watching truckersteve from Auckland good blog as well more memories. Retired now but good to see guys like you putting the effort in. Good stuff.😊
Great show mate. I’ve just found you on UA-cam and love it. So sad to hear about your previous job but as you say shit happens and you have to get on with it. Looking forward to seeing more from you. Cheers. From townsville nth qld
Happens all over the world mate! i’m from DK and i tried it up here aswell !! Next time run away when there’s trouble with the fuel card.. is the first sign at a company goes badly.
Hey mate, sorry to hear you had a crap time of it. Glad to hear that you got your old job back though! Good to hear from you, happy new year to you and your's mate. hope the vlogs keep coming.
Guess I have to do some binge watching to do! New follower here! Currently in Canada and now working on finding a sponsor company in Australia to start moving my life over there ❤
Watching your vlogs from the UK love them, was an owner operator for a few years you got your head screwed on right but remember it's not always about chasing the big money knowing what you are going get at the end of the week and the money being in the bank is more important and time you will never get that back, great content great information keep it up and good luck, and you have great back up from your lady sending you best wishes for 2024
Hi mate, great vid! I’m new to the channel but have seen your vids before and after this one I’ve subscribed. Very well put together I must say. I’m a 15t rigid driver in Melbourne but love the big rigs you drive….maybe one day😊
Thanks Jacques, great vlog, I enjoyed that one,… that’s happened to me twice throughout my career but I didn’t get stranded anywhere though, nice work mate.
With 2up in WA you can only go 5 hours at a time then need a break so most just swap then but when you get over the border on bfm 2up its 14 hours each without a break as far as i know
Amazing story glad it worked worked out . Having kenworths myself, I dont trust the gauges . The temperature reading are too high, oil reading are too low so too the voltmeter. . I run the Cummins Insite software on a laptop which is true reading. Plus if an engine light comes on I know exactly what it is.
I'm glad you found work and will be OK! That was a Horrible thing to have happened to you, hopefully you never have that happen again. On to better things! I still love the content and hope you can keep on making it for all of us!
Thanks for sharing bro, you’re a true warrior brother. Had an interview with Alex 2 weeks ago, will be jumping on with DW in a couple of weeks when I get back from Aotearoa. Hopefully see you on the road bro 🤙🏾 Awesome vlog 😁
I really enjoy the video you make your vlogs are great seeing this beautiful country of ours from a truck and hopefully you will be making more vlogs and i can't wait to see your next vlog keep on trucking 👍🚛🚛
Gonna miss seeing the red SAR. Loved that truck. Do you still plan to do vlogs, or will that be something that gets put on hold? And another thing, as the saying goes "when one door closes, another one opens"... who knows what's around the corner for you. All the best for 2024 mate.
" I dont know how trucks work, I only know how to drive them "😂🤣🤣 , crack up. Belated happy new year to you and your whanau bro. With your go get em attitude 2024 going to be a good year for yous 💪
There's 2 highways from Adelaide to Melbourne there's Sunraysia highway goes through Mildura Ouyen or the western Highway that goes through Keith and Nhill and heaps of other small towns
Bloody hell mate! That’s a hell of a story. At least you’ve landed your old job back, but how’s that going to work with your Vlogs because old Donny doesn’t like it? Anyway, good luck and keep it on the road.
Your mate was right. You do the deliveries because that's the job you agreed to do. The viability of the company has got nothing to do with that. I was in Narrabri with a shuttle for Brisbane when Red Star went belly up and my change over driver didn't appear. I still took it into TNT Brisbane and delivered. TNT were chuffed; they were expecting to have to send a bob-tail down to get the trailers. I never got paid for that leg, but that's not the point. I fuelled up at the company's bowser and bob-tailed back to Melbourne. The depot looked like the Marie-Celeste. Half-eaten sandwiches and cold coffee on the desks. They just scuttled. Just a question. Why go through Jamestown, Gladstone and Port Pirie? Orrorroo and Horrocks pass/ Wilmington is Double rated and 60km shorter. Is there something wrong with that road?
Why do you turn left to Jamestown instead of turning right to Orrroroo (spelling could be wrong) thought to Wilmington and cut through though Horrocks Pass Road it brings you out closer to Port Augusta.Always see road trains headed through there
Shit man what a ordeal. Great news getting the old job back straight away. It’s why I try to never leave a job on bad terms. Sometimes you just don’t know
Thats fucked bro glad you got it all sorted in the end. Brisbane to Perth and back is a long run. Just made it back to Queensland after spending 8 days on the south coast of WA. Left Queensland on the 4th got back on the 20th. Keep on trucking ol' mate. Regular reliable paid work is always better than big money with dodgy companies
That's what happens when ur boss put all his eggs in one basket surprised he lasted thst long after scotts went under Only benefit he had was all his truck were leased Glad u got ur old job back mate safe trucking
A guy from warrick truck company did the same thing to me before xmas also i jad no xmas no birthday party on the 31st living out of my ute now with no money
Bloody good story mate ,he is areal big arse wipe along with his sucker ,I probably one of the best out of our team ,only missed out on holiday pay ,I calculated aprox $3000

Blokes a dog far as I’m concerned. He knew he was going belly up and he sent his boys on a suicide mission to do a last second cash grab before he fucked off…
Well what you said was ccorrect if you new or felt this waywhy leave the place you call home.Money runs most Countries and now it is running humbeings andyou are one of them. I sad you went through all this but i can assuer you after 40plus years on the road if i ever had that feeling i would have un packed my gear rang the jerk told him your truck is here . The good money in the end was your down fall. First time i have seen you here and i can assure the last. If a guy with you experience can not get hie head right on a simple story not much left to say. Aussie Bob. Owner for 30plus and this is one reason why.
Pathetic isn't it? Australia's corporation laws allow dodgy operators to evade tax and avoid creditors thru this sort of bullsh1t phoenix behaviour. There has got to be way tougher penalties on company directors who engage in this reprehensible behaviour.

Back in the late 1980's early 1990's we'd leave Brisbane at 8pm Friday arrive in Perth 6am Monday.
