A song that combines the influences of celtic, rock, orchestral, and synth. There is a genre for that: pure magic.

I started listening Thomas Bergersen's music about 4 years ago. Im pretty sure I have heard some of his songs at least over 100 times maybe even closer to 1000. When I first heard songs like Children of the Sun, Victory, Final Frontier, Illusions, Aura and Sun&Moon I replayed the songs over and over for weeks. I always have 2-5 songs I listen to for like a month and then change them. Now when I replay a song I always remember the feelings and thoughts I had back then when I used to listen to that song a lot. I have so many memories attached to his songs.

The works of Two Steps From Hell can be compared to those of Hans Zimmer. We discover them, we listen to them in a loop, then we wait for the next album with impatience. In the meantime, we listen to other music of the composer, which we appreciated without hanging too much. Then we rediscover it, and we end up loving them as much as our favorite compositions. Finally, what makes a great composer is not only to make masterpieces for a certain time, but for eternity

    • @erazohar6731
      @erazohar6731 7 років тому +7

I'm sorry but what you say does not make much sense. TSFH is a very good band, but they only do epic music, which may seem redundant for people who do not particularly like this type of music. As a result, it is the same for all types of music, singers and composers.
And frankly, Hans Zimmer is not a composer who always makes the same music, he follows the rhythm of the times and adapts himself with his own inspiration. The music of the Lion King is not the same as Interstellar for example. Otherwise it is as boring as John Williams, James Horner, Ennio Morricone, Thomas Bergensen and TSFH .... Admit it would be a shame to think so ...

    • @peacheslamb3546
      @peacheslamb3546 7 років тому +7

TSFH has done so much more than just epic music though, they've done stuff ranging from romantic comedy to horror to drumscapes to neoclassical to electronic/EDM opera pop.
If Bergersen and Phoenix finally decide to break into film scoring, I have no doubt they'd be as versatile and accomplished as Zimmer, if not even more. Their epic music background means they write actual melodies, which seems to be sorely lacking in many modern film scores.

    • @erazohar6731
      @erazohar6731 7 років тому +3

I wanted to highlight the musical versatility of Hans Zimmer.
But I totally agree with you about the versatility of TSFH and Bergensen.
That's why I made the comparison in my first post because they are people capable of composing masterpieces, whatever the style and the time.

    Pressing for the gods
We won't fail, we'll fight and chorus our most sacred song
In the midst of the war, go make your enemy run
Dominate all, we'll make the vanguards fall
They will run, they'll need a miracle

    We keep killing them
They don't stop, stop, leave our souls

    We keep killing them
They don't stop, stop, leave our souls
    Secure your helmet
You'll keep fighting them, now it's the end of the road, and now it's over
    8:14

    Resisting the fire
We will stand and fight until the hell is all over

The waves crash, and the timbers creak their song in tune with the Ocean's beat. The storm is brutal, but the crew is used to these rough northern storms. They push through, holding hope as the waves crash on and on, that they'll see shore again. Until that -- thing -- came. It was a monster of the sea, a legend of the tales of Beowulf. Its massive tenticles reaching out from the seas to encircle the ship, and bring it inward to the depths. But the crew were stronger than such beasts. They fought, with sword, spear, tooth, and nail, and they showed that beast what a man of the north was made of. The men of the ice lands, men of the cold, barren wastes. The Impossible, their fury unleashed.

Honestly this song reminds me of a great gathering for battle, there are so many different sounding parts that pop in but in the end despite the different tones they return to that same chorus/melody, its like the different groups of sailors or nations coming together to help battle the one enemy. It starts off with a humble group who are thrown unexpectedly against the enemy that has tortured their nation. Yet there is no fear in their hearts, no fear in this song. For a time the waves calm with the arrival of new ships and then the battle begins again as the raging monster fights with more brutality than ever before

Now listen close, now listen well
I have a tale to tell
It starts not here, in mortal life
but starts two steps from hell
Two steps you say, Two steps indeed!
    Tho' Demons sought the fray.
We fixed our spears and set our shields.
For none shall bar our way!
Two steps from hell, Two steps from pain
And two from straits of blood
We knew that should we there be slain
we'd walk where Gods have trod.
We saw the blood, we saw the fear
    and still we battled on.
our foe had asked, "why stay ye here?
when half your men are gone."
I heard the cry, I heard the shout
    We answered in reply
We took his taunt and hurled it back
"We've come to win or die!"
I see that day, I see that night
    that night where demons screamed
Where shadows danced and comrades died
all hope was lost, it seemed.
We faced the lord, we faced that foe
the last, the lord of sin.
My friend and I, the last to stand
His horde had slain my kin.
That night I cried, That night I prayed
    for strength to carry on
For might to fight and will to stand
for hope when hope was gone.
I stood with hope, I stood with strength
I stood and swung my sword.
for the souls of my brethren
I struck and then I roared
We'll not give up, we'll not give in
    We'll always fight this tide.
I swung my sword and with a groan
    That prince of Darkness died
I sat in blood, I sat in gore
and i knew that we'd won
We'd slain the beast and lived to tell
    the tale of Veldann's fall.

    Mood changes to a story:
0:00 The three iron-clad warriors wearing helmets of war set foot upon their ship of battle, for they were to set sail upon their voyage of discovery, for there pride had been fractured in the battle of their village, which had ended in the burning of them homeland. They set sail at dusk, the morning light enveloping them upon their ship, their village a remnant of the past which had only sorrow and death left upon it, for they were leaving and starting anew. 1:50 The day greeted torrential waves crashing against the might bulk of the skillfully crafted ship, the water struck the boat with the Strength of a Thousand Men (another great song), the three brave vikings steered and eventually cleared the demoness waves. 3:54 It began to rain, yet they proudly sailed on. wave after wave they continued to cross the ocean landscape, from time to time bright light cascaded across the raining ocean. Soon they found themselves among a group of large dark rocks, each of the rocks portraying a solemn deathly mood, then disaster struck. Bolts of burning electricity shot from the sky, bright light flew from the bolts, sending burning hot death across their boat. 4:02 The warriors with their armor glistening in the fire looked at each other and nodded,5:09 silently agreeing upon a sworn oath. They fought the fire, using the wrath of the waves, as the boat was tossed and turned, the flame had eventually fed enough and diminished to a pitiful spark. The storm still raged violently across the ocean, although in the distance the vikings could see salvation, 6:34 a bright haven at the end of the sky and a hope of continuation as the sea it seemed, was a never ending abyss of dread. They set sail for the point and position towards it, they continued through the rain and thunder through the lightning, and through destruction. 7:41 For they remembered their families that once thrived on the land and fed on hope and love, for they were innocent souls which once were alive, but now it was them, and only them. They were the ones which were to carry on the memories of their loved ones, and to hold them deep in their hearts for they still existed, and because of this their hope lived on. - End

This is my favourite thing about TSFH: they somehow just keep getting better.
I remember back in the day I thought that To Glory (from Invincible) was their best and that it would be difficult to top it. And they did with Archangel's Norwegian Pirate. I then though that it would be really difficult to top that. And then they did with Skyworld's El Dorado. At this point I thought that it was impossible to top it. Then Battlecry came out and changed everything. Don't get me wrong, there are very few TSFH songs that I dislike, and thats like 1 in 50. But to me there are only 2 or 3 songs per album that I can listen to forever and never get bored. Battlecry on the other hand was different. I consider all of that album a masterpiece. Victory, Flight of the Silverbird, Never Back Down, Cannon in D Minor, Star Sky, Battleborne are just a few examples of what Battlecry has to offer. But I guess Thomas Bergersen and Nick Phoenix are friends with God himself, because they just went and made an even BETTER song. My mind cannot fathom that. I'm just speechless.

Hey if you've not been martyred yet and are still kicking out there, I want you to know something mate.
You are a _hero_ in every way and a man in every metric. It doesn't matter what any of these people say. They clearly don't love peace enough, because they don't understand that sometimes to keep the peace you must protect it through aggression and dominance. But you do. You are smarter, you are stronger and braver than the rest soldier. You are clearly fighting a demon on the battlefield and inside of yourself. But you also must be strong, because otherwise how else are you still here fighting on?
So go on. Fight for what's right and aim true my friend. Never miss. Protect your son. Protect your country. Protect Europe. Protect the people. Do it for all of us. We are all counting on your sacrifice. We have your back. NATO's sending you weapons and in time when they are all gone, you will be part of us. But only you can attack now. Only you can strike back for the damage they have caused to your family life and your country. Push the Russians back, because Ukraine is _your land_ you understand? Your country. But the freedom you protect belongs to us all even here in the West. And it also belongs to _me_ so know I am eternally grateful.
      Slava Ukraine.

a short creative work from me to the reader of this message. There on the horizon, dawn breaks into the squall, painting the ships sails rose-gold, and blinding her crew. "It would seem we still have a course", the captain said to his helmsman with a grin. Above the roaring of the sea, the captain give his command, "Bring her about! All hands to stations! We have our course lads!" The ocean waves attacking the hull suddenly part, as a crowd would for their esteemed lord. The ship and her crew take leave of the ill-willed clouds and sail into the vast blue once more. Where will it be taken next you ask? You are the captain my friend, it will go where you decide to.

I've been to Prague, so wish I could have been there for this concert. It really makes me upset to remember how were beginning to be upcoming when I was there, and look where trying to take it all now to. Even when I went to The Russian Federation not too long before I moved back from Spain. 2009. Absolutely nothing but anti evolutionary unsustainable destructive parasitic greediness perverts effects anti Christs.

1.8k listeners disliked this track after their speakers exploded and/or melted. Future uploads should come with a disclaimer.

I actually wonder if its because people get jealous.

Except a few who dislike how much they loved it, like Justin Bieber, Nicki Minaj, etc.
