I was working on a ship in 2017 or so and just had my 15 hour shift. In the middle of the night, still in overalls and dirt, I went to the skydeck. In the middle of the ocean, no light pollution, velvet star sky... I put my headphones on and blasted this for an hour. I was "riverdancing", smoked cigarettes, drank lemonade, and danced even more... alone... not a singe care in the world. It was a good night. Out of so many nights on board this was the most memorable. And then in june 2022 i saw you guys live in Vienna! Thank you!! It was insane!

Dang, you're right! It made it sound so much better with the music. With the setting being in the past, present and future it made it seem intense while still being emotional. I had watch the trailer and once i got to the battle part of it, i just broke down crying cause that's when the song had reached its climax. It was perfect the message behind it was amazing.
Before, Blackheart was my favorite song from these guys. However, after hearing the chorus, I lost it. This is up there with Blackheart and To Glory. Oh and Victory, and Archangel, and El Dorado and...fuck it. You can't rank these heavenly pieces.

Two steps from hell has so many compositions to offer, that we can easily miss a few of them... I constantly browse and hear songs of Thomas for the last 3-4 months, and Star Sky came up just this week! Keep on hearing and keep on searching, I think we can expect to find many more gems in this vast collection of Two steps from hell universe.
In 2016, there are many islands in the waters of Vladivostok, we went there on a boat to go fishing, at night, leaving the tent, it was a clear starry night, and the sea was completely calm, the moon was not visible and the stars were reflected from the completely black sea. There was a feeling that everything was all around endless space for me. I listened to this song. I have never felt anything like this in my life, either before or after.
Seriously, most songs from the album are brilliant. I really enjoyed Cannon in D, Never Back Down, Victory, etc... It is really, REALLY hard to pick a favourite. But if someone held a pistol over my head, and shouted "choose one song from Battlecry, or I'll shoot you!", I'd probably say this one is my favorite. "You and I, mirrors of light" mirrors represents how one person (we'll call her Person A, and their lover, who is at war were similar and perfect for each other. "Lit in another time and place" This one kind of confuses me but from what I think, it means they started loving each other during a time of peace, when things were different. "I knew your name. I knew your face. Your love and grace." This represents how Person A knew Person B so well. "Unstoppable, the song we play." The song they play is love. Love is unstoppable and can surpass everything else, even the will to live, as we see later on. Now moving on to the next part, this is sung by Person B, who I'm guessing died in combat. "Burn the page for me." This means to forget about me. Burn the page full of everything you know and love about me. Might also have something to do with the Chinese tradition of burning paper as an offering for the dead. "I cannot erase the time of sleep." One thing that is more powerful than love, is death. Nobody can erase death. Death happens to everyone. "I cannot be loved so set me free" Forget about me since I can't be loved. I'm not on this world anymore. "I cannot deliver your love." Summary: Two people love each other but one goes to war and dies. He tries to tell his lover not to love him and to find someone else but she never will. Dang, you're right! It made it sound so much better with the music. With the setting being in the past, present and future it made it seem intense while still being emotional. I had watch the trailer and once i got to the battle part of it, i just broke down crying cause that's when the song had reached its climax. It was perfect the message behind it was amazing.
Before, Blackheart was my favorite song from these guys. However, after hearing the chorus, I lost it. This is up there with Blackheart and To Glory. Oh and Victory, and Archangel, and El Dorado and...fuck it. You can't rank these heavenly pieces.

"You and I, mirrors of light" mirrors represents how one person (we'll call her Person A, and their lover, who is at war were similar and perfect for each other.
"Lit in another time and place" This one kind of confuses me but from what I think, it means they started loving each other during a time of peace, when things were different.
"I knew your name. I knew your face. Your love and grace." This represents how Person A knew Person B so well.
"Unstoppable, the song we play." The song they play is love. Love is unstoppable and can surpass everything else, even the will to live, as we see later on. Now moving on to the next part, this is sung by Person B, who I'm guessing died in combat.
"Burn the page for me." This means to forget about me. Burn the page full of everything you know and love about me. Might also have something to do with the Chinese tradition of burning paper as an offering for the dead.
