I recently bought the Arc 5 and love it…I just do not understand why there are only 2 inner blades when there are 5 blades on the outer foil? …are there electric gear motors that make the remaining blades move? Update: I got off my lazy butt and simply looked at the shaver and it is so simple to how it works. ☺️
I bought mine a few years ago and actually haven't used it very much. I felt even back then that it didn't cut as well as I wanted. I do make the mistake a lot of times using it as a lawn mower going through a thick growth of hair. The one complaint I have is the trimmer part seems to collapse compared to the one in your video which seems to lock in place.
I would suggest buying replacement blades when you buy the razor. As you switch over to the already purchased teplacent blade, buy another one then so you will already have a replacement when the one you just put in wears out
@@SpolarEffect no problem man I have a Braun series 9 pro it cuts alright I am a black man and we can't just use any electric razors just wanted to no was this razor better but thanks anyway bro 👍
Any tips on how to get a great face shave? I have used the Arc 6 for two wet shaves so far and it misses face hairs. It is excellent for shaving my head bald, but my Braun Series 9 catches most of those hairs, but not as close a shave. I am considering returning the Arc 6 if it doesn't improve in the next two weeks and just get a Arc 5. I love the close cut on a bald head.
I have a problem with mine. After I cleaned it and reassembled the bades and screen properly, it now is making a loud noise. I tried the same procedure many times and it still does it. If you keep the screen top off, leaving the blades on, it is quiet and a soft sound. Does anyone have any suggestions why it is making the noise.
No it really doesn't cut as short as a razor I've had mine over a year it's just as bad as all the other electric shavers I've tried, spent a small fortune on trying to find a good one, still looking 😔
I have a very thick coarse beard and it gets just as close as a regular razor…but not lower down on my neck…I simply finish that part off with a regular razor it takes about 10 seconds. I purchased this as I have sensitive skin and hate having to wait 3 days to shave again where I can use this 7 days a week…this is going to save me alot of money on buying razor blades.
I am extremely happy with the Panasonic Arc5. I noticed that there is an updated version of the Arc5 but I purchased this one on Amazon because of all the positive reviews. …do you know if the newer version Arc5 is better than this one? Just curious. …just noticed the latest version also moves in one more extra direction…from the reviews this version is just as good as the latest model. 😎🖤
From what I seen by people online the newer versions to the arch 5 are not as good as this version I can believe it actually cos Bruan newer version of series 7 is a downgrade from the original that many have said .i own the bruan series 9 pro am deciding wether to get this arch 5 but its hard to find with a cleaning station .or the arch 6 .
@@trojanx7723 with the Arc 5…no cleaning station is needed…simply take the top razor off and put it in the sink…you can use some kind of soap but water works perfectly to clean it…I then use a small amount of oil designed for razors afterwards.
It's just too loud at 80db. I have a Norelco that's got to be 15 years old and is still on the same blade. I know I should get a new blade but of course they don't make them anymore even though they look almost the same. I thought I'd try a brand new Panasonic as that was mentioned as being pretty good but it's very loud and it refuses to cut some of the thinner angled hairs on my neck. The wide head has an issue getting in there at different directions to try to pick up the hair. I guess the Panasonic really is designed to be used every single day no matter what? Hit the same spots with the Norelco and it picked them right up. I'm going to return it. It's just too loud at 80db, checked with a Decibel Meter. I also do not like the power connection, it's awkward to connect, why not USB-C or something. I also see that you can not run it while it's plugged in like the Norelco can so when the battery runs out you have to wait and charge it or years later when the battery dies it'll be e-waist. From their spec sheet: Airborne Acoustical Noise In shaving mode: 63 dB Trimmer mode: 64 dB 63 dB? From a few feet maybe but to use it it's going right next to you ears.
So what features exactly make this a good option for your clients as an occupational therapist? You make a point to say this but give no specific connections. It's fine if you are simply reviewing it from your point of view as a man who shaves but what would be the reasons you would recommend this to your clients?
Thanks for the excellent question Michelle! I'm always looking for a product that's easy to use, is effective at its primary mission, and seems durable/uses quality parts. Being able to hold and manipulate this shaver by someone with upper extremity weakness was a consideration. I felt as though it was easy to grip and manuever. This device does have a few extra settings to navigate, thereby adding an additional layer of complexity for someone with cognitive impairment. While this shaver is more on the expensive side as are its replacement heads, its overall value convinces me that it's worth recommending and many people seem to agree and rate it highly.
But why cant these company's use standard USB c cables for charging its annoying, and i am not even sure its legal here in EU. (not only Panasonic that does this)
I just bought one for 80 bucks on ebay, and your review answered a few things I was wondering about, thanks
Glad to help! Thats a great price
share link to ebay.
I have sensitive skin so this sounds great for me. Thanks for the review.
My pleasure!

I brought same unit very happy with it. I wet shave it takes 1 min and works well
Hey man,
I tried that way too and i was impressed!
In your opinion is this shaver better than the Braun series 9

The shave looks pretty clean. Would you say it shaves just as good close as a regular razor?
from the raving reviews I heard elsewhere, I was expecting a hyper close shave? i'm not seeing it either- may have to go with Andis brand

Curious that Panasonic says it’s a 5 cutting blades shaver but a look inside you only see two cutting blades. Any thoughts on that?
And i have alot of hair
Can i use this or Its this more than my needs?
great review man!!!
Thanks =)

I agree that is a downfall
60 second shave. Each shaver gets 60 seconds to do what it can do from a 24 hour growth. In a hurry, out the door, will it do the job?
It doesn't come with a leather case as you said. It's a vinyl case.
Im buying 20 of these at a police auction for $8 each. Should turn a nice profit, ill keep one for myself👍
