The reason they come in boats is because there isn't a legal route for them. As a proportion of our population we take a relatively small amount of refugees compared to most of the EU countries. Braverman and Jenrick halted the processing of asylum applications which drove costs up which allowed them to send lots of money to Rwanda. Braverman did business in Rwanda and had a charity there prior to becoming an MP. It was another scheme to pay themselves at cost to the taxpayer.
@@harveygrowthproperties there is no issue with the current rate, I think there should be a focus on processing them which is where this current crisis and waste of money has arisen. If they are processed, then those that can, will be able to get to work.
Mate over the last few years net immigration has gone up from around 200k to nearly 700k… For the last 3 decades the uk should have been building around 300k plus properties per year. They’ve been building around 100k to 200k leaving the country in an already deficient of houses when the net immigration was around 200k The housing infrastructure is just not there to support 700k people unfortunately
@@harveygrowthproperties completely understand your point Harvey. However, before the net immigration increases. Government refused to build housing at the rate they promised to or at least match demand. Therefore, we are feeling the squeeze even more at the moment. immigration has only exacerbated the issue. Landlords are finding ways to make extra rooms. Developers are finding ways to cheap out on poorly built apartments etc. The goverment itself aren't able to even build council housing as promised due to 'budgets' and relying on private investment/development groups to carry the responsibility. its a clusterfuck really
In most cases airbnb, rent2rent is not legal. C3 planning does not cover running such a business. Particularly in flats where in most cases is a clear breach of the lease (Necova v Fairfield Rents Ltd 2016). There is also a breach of mortgage conditions. The insurance will be void in most cases. Should you be in a selective licencing area clearly a breach there. The risk of a rent repayment order is high. Other leaseholders and the management company can pursue through the courts. There is a clear risk of forfeiture of lease. There are many property gurus selling this high risk strategy by not fully understanding the law/rules etc. There is no need for new legislation to shut it down, the existing law just needs to be applied.
We have become a country totally reliant on the state. I have lived in Greece for years, where the State does not support anyone so families have to support each other. Neither is wrong ir right but I think in the UK we have gone far to much to the state becoming responsible for everyone, and its so out of control now, it will eventually bankrupt the government!!
Hello Harvey, fellow Essex person well I moved out of Thurrock 20-yrs ago to Lincs. Could U pls help me understand something in my own Head? Before the boom in Airbnb around Covid staycation time, where did staycationers such as contractors and guests who require short term rentals stay? I don't remember such problems and issues prior to Covid years with people complaining at this rate we have now. Thxx
Government policy will have conflicting rules, especially in London. While tenants will be able to Exit after 2 months rental (under Tenants Rights Bill) you cannot Airbnb for more than 90 days in a year as a Landlord, does the Tenant need Planning Permission. Why does the electorate keep voting for dumbasses? So if a LANDLORDs advertises "we are lovers of the Tenants Rights Act, especially 2 months and increase his rent per month." Would he/she be breaking the law or applying it. We had the party of Dumb now we have the party of the Dumber!! To take advantage of this AIRBNB should allow long term rentals, so those in London who what to have Short Lets will fit into legal!
For sure it’s not a race thing for me obviously it’s just a comes down to logic… but unfortunately the government do not seem to have anything close to logic
Haha… absolutely🎯💯… mate if you do not have a headline that people will click on you will not get any view… I for sure do not spend time creating videos for myself 😜🤪

So do you think the uk should take more refugees?

You should mention that if you have some mortgages they wont allow family members to be in your properties same with benefits.

Hotels mate
After WW2 many councils built prefab homes as a temporary measure to home the homeless. It would make sense to do the same again.
It would be an admission that state has failed. Council Estates cost councils more money for less benefits.
