EN: We finally managed to finish the video from our last testing session, the problem we had that the clips were all over the place and from multiple members, so it too time to review, debrief, post-process and agree on conclusions. The testing session was about tires but we didn't miss the opportunity to admire the Jeep and force him to show us what he has for winter off-road. The tire review video will come later for Cooper Discoverer AT3 Sport 2 as more testing needs to be done until the end of spring. As for the Jeep and its success in the video, you have to remember that this is a test ramp and on a mountain edge you will never risk such lateral slides, so for winter the Duster did beat the Jeep for such limit scenario where inertia/momentum could be bleed out and lost. We always look at high risk scenarios and test their limits, this is because only those truly matter as the danger is higher and alternatives limited to go around the main problem. At the end the conclusion is that the Duster for its price, it is an awesome alternative until you have the budget for a Jeep. Remember to Share, Like and Subscribe! Thank you.

Sesiunea de testare a fost la baza despre anvelope, dar nu am ratat ocazia de a admira Jeep-ul și de a-l obliga să ne arate ce poate iarna off-road. Videoclipul cu reviewul anvelopelor va veni mai târziu in special pentru Cooper Discoverer AT3 Sport 2, asta deoarece trebuie efectuate mai multe teste până la sfârșitul primăverii. În ceea ce privește Jeep-ul și succesul său în videoclip, trebuie să vă amintiți că aceasta este o rampă de testare, insa pe marginea muntelui nu veți risca niciodată astfel de alunecări laterale, așa că pentru iarnă, Dusterul a învins oarecum Jeep-ul pentru un astfel de scenariu de limită în care inerția masinii poate fi pierduta in urcari fara lanturi. De mentionat este ca la zapezi mai mari intodeauna Jeepul va deschide drumul pentru ca are puterea, garda la sol si masa mai mare ca sa impinga/taseze zapada. Noi ne uităm întotdeauna la scenarii cu risc ridicat și acolo le testăm limitele, acest lucru se datorează faptului că doar ele contează cu adevărat. Asta deoarece pericolul este mai mare iar alternativele limitate pentru a ocoli problema principală. La final, concluzia este că Duster pentru prețul său, este o alternativă minunată până când aveți bugetul pentru un Jeep. Speram ca a fost un video informativ-util, nu uitați să distribuiți, să dati like și să vă abonați! Mulțumim.
DE: Schließlich haben wir es geschafft, das Video aus unserer letzten Testsitzung fertigzustellen. Das Problem war, dass die Videos qualitativ verstreut waren. Es hat also lange gedauert, die Videos zu überprüfen, zu analysieren, zu verarbeiten und zu vereinbaren die Schlussfolgerungen. Die Testsitzung basierte auf Reifen, aber wir haben die Gelegenheit nicht verpasst, den Jeep zu bewundern und ihn zu zwingen, uns zu zeigen, was der Winter im Gelände sein kann. Das Video mit dem Reifenbericht wird später erscheinen, insbesondere für den Cooper Discoverer AT3 Sport 2, da bis Ende des Frühlings weitere Tests durchgeführt werden müssen. Was den Jeep und seinen Erfolg im Video betrifft, muss man bedenken, dass dies eine Testrampe ist, aber am Rande des Berges werden Sie niemals solche Erdrutsche riskieren. Für den Winter hat der Duster den Jeep etwas besiegt ein solches Grenzszenario, in dem die Trägheit des Autos bei nicht angeketteten Anstiegen verloren gehen kann. Es sollte erwähnt werden, dass der Jeep bei höherem Schnee immer den Weg öffnet, da er die Kraft, die Bodenfreiheit und den größeren Tisch hat, um den Schnee zu schieben / zu verdichten. Wir schauen uns immer Szenarien mit hohem Risiko an und testen dort ihre Grenzen, weshalb nur sie wirklich wichtig sind. Dies liegt daran, dass die Gefahr größer ist und die Alternativen begrenzt sind, um das Hauptproblem zu vermeiden. Unter dem Strich ist Duster für seinen Preis eine großartige Alternative, bis Sie das Budget für einen Jeep haben. SE: Testperioden baserades på däck, men vi missade inte chansen att beundra jeepen och tvinga den att visa oss vad vintern kan vara terräng. När det gäller jeepen och dess framgång i videon måste du komma ihåg att detta är en testramp, men på kanten av berget kommer du aldrig att riskera sådana sidoskred, så för vintern har Duster något besegrat jeepen för ett sådant gränsscenario där bilens tröghet kan gå förlorade i oklädda stigningar. If you keep seeing notes about the Jeep speed as optimal versus not recommended, that is because those jumps are not good for its parts, lets just say that after the test the driver confirmed that his mechanic had work to do and he will never force it again on that ramp, cause it will cost him. As for the Duster, we can confirm that none of the Dusters got damaged while filming.
I'm glad I chose Duster, the alternatives were either used soft offroaders (GV, Sorento, Forester), or new but flimsy SUVs. A new Duster is a good and cheap compromise.
The entire channel is full of Dusters :) its a good test bed for us and makes the core of our community.

Hello. Greetings from Sweden. Do you know if there is any good upgrade for the suspension? I have a 2017,older model and my suspension,specially in back,gives high sound when hitting bigger bumps.
Great video guys! I enjoyed the tests and the landscape! I work my duster mostly on sharp rocks and often in snow. What do you you think is the best tyre for this usage? I also travel in highways a lot. I guess I cannot have all I want with one tyre, right?
Depends on your climate, but sharp rocks will eat away any tire. If you don't face winters with snow or ice, you could try Cooper ATT as a summer tire. Its has less fuel consumption, harder rubber and lots of highway use potential.

Great video ! I wanted to ask you what sort of roof rack does the first white duster have ? It looks custom made and very low profile which i like very much. Is it available somewhere for purchase?

Awesome video? Would you rather recommend the KO2 or AT34s for all around use? The KO2s are quite a bit heavier alltough more robust I take it. The Cooper should get better fuel economy on the other hand.

I think the Dusters is the ideal car for foresters and lumberjacks, forest trails are often narrow with tight corners, too narrow for big off road vehicles (Land cruiser, Cherokee, Wrangler, Patrol, Defender...). The kind of equipment they need fits easily in the trunk the Dacia. If you need to trail equipment (small crane, bobcat..) to muddy job sites, then you need the bigger brothers.

oh man your channel makes me wanna buy a Duster so bad!!! Do you know if there will be a refresh/update of the Duster in 2021? I heard there's one due in september where the duster will get an interior ressembling the new sandero stepway. Also, what is the color of the duster with the license plate B*78MUD?
Yes a Duster face-lift will come out in 2021, only cosmetic changes for lights, the rest will be fixes and optimizations. The color for the Duster is a Renault C-67 (not the Dacia olive one).

Awesome video! Would you rather recommend the KO2 or AT34s for all around use? The KO2s are quite a bit heavier alltough more robust I take it. The Cooper should get better fuel economy on the other hand.
AT34S has too much traction for it to be fuel efficient, its almost same as KO2. Only two ATs are fuel friendly, the ATRs, ATT and AT3WA. KO2 is great if you do nasty offroad and risk damaging your sidewalls, if not - then select Cooper.

I use KO2 in summer and AT3 4S in winter on my Jeep. What i can say is: the AT3 4S is the much better tire on wet road, snow and mud. The only reason to use a KO2 is: it looks much better and is more durable, especailly the tire flanks. Btw: i also had a 4x4 Duster and it is a very good car on snow. If you go to really rough terrain the Jeep is winner, though. Both cars are awesome cars. Duster is also very easy to drive, while Jeep needs some knowlegde about when (AND HOW!) to deaktivate ESP. Also needs more knowlegde about the gearbox and how to use it. It is heavier compared to the Duster. That is why the Duster may outperform a Jeep on a hill like on this video. But you don´t want to drive a Duster on Black Bear Pass...

In Brasil a Duster is 4x cheaper tran a Wrangler. Impressive off road skills.

I don't understand why some drivers (in this case experienced drivers) are locking the wheels when sliding back after an unsuccessful climb attempt. It's obvious that it's going wherever the terrain leads you, especially bad if it's sideways.

@@19kreeper They don't hit the brakes hard, just slightly touch them in vain. Its because of the shift in concentration from matching the climb steps acceleration and in the second two looking directly at the sky and falling, the reflexes do kick in and since you are not on a mountain its hard to be disciplined. The adrenaline slows down the action to overpower reflexes.

I didn't do this kind of sliding back but my instinct will be to press the brake and release it once a second.
I drive a Jeep and owned 2 Dusters before. Both cars are awesome offroad. But this video makes the Jeep look crappy compared to the Duster - and that is completly WRONG! The Duster is a light vehicle. It may eventually outperform a Jeep on a muddy/snow hill like this. But you don´t want to drive Black Bear Pass with a Duster - it would fall into pieces and fail to overcome rocks! It is a light vehicle that will run very very smooth on snow and situations like in this video. But it is massivly outperformed by a Jeep on rocks and very rough terrain. Also the AT3 4S is MUUUUUUUUUUUUUCH better on snow and mud. I use both tires, KO2 in summer and AT3 4S in winter and i know why! The 4S rules on snow! KO2 is better on rocks but totally crap on snow! Most Jeep drivers, and probably also this one in the video too, have no clue how to disable their ESP. This is not a Rubicon - so if momentum is used, this driver should fully disable his ESP pressing the ESP button for 5 sec. It´s the same shit with many "tug of war" videos - Jeep driver have no clue that ESP will break and break and break until there is no power left. Need´s to be disabled in situations like this. You want those 200 hp to work and not to get shutdown!
Black Bear Pass is one place, not the whole planet and if you read carefully you will see that we explain that the Dustyer is not a crawler while the Jeep is, also how did you get Dusters in US? Also the jeep does climb the hill - so where is the problem? as the Dusters fail too... try to see the overall picture.
@@DaciaDusterTrails I am not from USA. I don´t say your video is crap, i actually liked it - but i say it makes Jeep Wrangler look bad. Since i own/ed both cars, i know that the lightweight Duster may perform very good on ice, snow, mud or sand - maybe better than a Jeep - but as soon the terrain gets really rough, the Duster is helpless. I know you guys are Duster fans - so im i! But i also am a Jeep fan! I love both cars! Make the hill climb fair: Put AT3 4S on both cars and disable ESP (5 second button). Use a driver that doesnt fuck up on the gas pedal and the Jeep will make this thing in a second. I think you guys know the AT3 4S (compared to KO2) is superior on snow+mud. The Jeep is so heavy and has so much ground clearance, lowering tire pressure would make sence. Lower tire pressure on Duster and Jeep to 0.8 bar. Then you will see the full potential of the Jeep. The lower pressure will massivly help the Jeep while it will not help the Duster much. You see - the performance can be "manipulated" to let the Duster or the Jeep win.

Salut! Caut sa imi schimb anvelopele la un Jimny. Il folosesc zilnic si ma intereseaza siguranta, iar asfaltul ud este o problema in oras. Pentru iesiri la noroi am Simex-uri. Ce imi recomandati pentru folosinta tot anul, repet, frica mare este la distanta de franare pe ud (masina nu are ABS). Un set de Cooper Discoverer AT3 Sport 2 sau un set de iarna? Multumesc

Actually not really, both care have good AT brands and if you are patient enough till mid video you will see the Jeep will still climb with the KO2s. This video is about refined limits, speeds, etc - not A to B only wins or fails.
I was about to buy a wrangler but i choose the duster ! After have seen this video i got the right choice!

I think that with 15000 euro for a new Duster 4x4 and another 5000 euro for offroad modifications you can achieve a great car.

No, approx 35-38% less power fell (sensation) to driver (longer gearbox and weaker engine torque)

Buna seara! As dori sa imi achizitionez un Duster si as dori sa stiu ce motor ar fi mai potent pentru aceasta masina. 1.5 dci sau 1.6 benzina? Daca puteti sa ma ajutati cu ceva argumente pro sau contra in legatura cu aceste motoare m-ar ajuta. Sau daca aveti cunostinta de vreun site unde pot gasi mai multe tutoriale sau rewiev explicative despre masina va rog sa imi lasati un link. Multumesc anticipat si mult succes in continuare cu reviewurile! 🤝
Salut, 1.5dci este motorul cel mai optimizat si fara riscuri de sincope si erori. Motorul de 1.6 e o asimilare de la Nissan nu foarte reusita plina de probleme pe soft pe versiuni, este si un motor mai sugrumat si cu mai putin cuplu. 1.6 a si fost scos din productia pt Duster. Noi iti recomandam 1.5dci fara discutie, iar daca mergi pe 1.6 iti asumi loteria erorilor de bord si a sensibilitatii motorului. Sunt unele care merg bine insa, cele mai multe merg bine defapt, dar si sunt si multe cu tot felul de erori prin service, cel mai mult poti risca sa pierzi timp si nervi. E o loterie, probl;eme cu care nu te lovesti la 1.5dci

Dusters are very capable no question, but the owner of that Wrangler doesn't know how to drive proper offroader with solid axles and 4wd.
Not really, he knows quite well, as you see he climbed by mid video, the problem is though that all those jumps got him a 600$ bill later of broken parts.
@@DaciaDusterTrails his tyre choice is rather unusuall. MT are more suited for that, also when going down hill looks like he did not use low range . But yes if you compare the prices Duster offers more for less money.
