I got my first strict ring muscle up because of this video and another ring mu video you did - so thank u bro. I've watched tonnes of ring mu videos but your message got thru 2 me more. I believe it was the tip you gave (on a different video) about your head position, looking up then straight down which pretty much was my "ah hah" moment. What's really crazy to me is I've been training in calisthenics and gymnastics for a year and a half or so and i got the "juice" to do a ring mu from a cross-fit guy. So salute 2 you brother. Well deserved sub and a fan of your "mahi" (pronounced ma as in the word "market" and he as in the word "heal" which means "work" in te reo Maori) from Aotearoa (better known to the world as New Zealand) Sweet as bro!
I saw strict muscle ups in this morning's wod. I've never done one before. I watch your video a couple times before I went to the class, got some coaching from our coach then did exactly what you said and was able to do 5 in a row (so close to getting the 6th). The key cues for me were getting that proper false grip (I've now got sores on my wrists tho, lol), and thinking about bringing my elbows into my gut to keep my arms close. Hugely helpful. Thanks man!

I'm a big Nas fan. He's got a new song with Eminem. His verse is fire! Helpful tips on the muscle up. I think my issue was my grip being too high and elbows not tight enough. I'll try again tonight to see if I can correct course.
Just tried and got it on my first try. Then a second one a few minutes later. Great tips! I had done a few strict muscle us before like once in a blue but never consistently or repeat it.
I managed a couple a few days ago, but I lost my false grip on the eccentric. I guess it's just a matter of getting stronger so I can lower myself slowly.
I love that. I'm in the minority in the CrossFit world, but if you wanna talk High Intensity a WOD backed behind the sickest 20 min Down With Disease or a blazing 12 min Chalkdust Torture AMRAP would be unparalleled! I wish I could affiliate today to have that be, maybe even town in some Kuroda style lights too. (perhaps a bit to far , but I could see it.) Phish Food has fro yo now too.

Thanks for the tip of keeping the rings close to my chest. Forgot about it - I could easily do 3 reps instead of 2! ❤😁
