Me (GSTAR321) doing a live commentary and playthrough of 'The Evil Within' on AKUMU difficulty.
The Evil Within is a survival horror game directed by Shinji Mikami and was released in 2014. It is available on PC, PS3, PS4, XBOX 360 & XBOX ONE.
Shinji Mikami does what he does best and has provided us with yet another great survival horror game. The Evil Within is VERY similar in gameplay mechanics to 'Resident Evil 4', and it makes sense as Mikami directed that game as well.
I give praise to the games atmosphere, pacing and gameplay but personally find the story to be a convoluted mess. Still, if you can manage to get your head around it, you will find it somewhat entertaining (though laughable). Locating all the collectables is a must in terms of gaining a better understanding of the story.
But aside from that, the monster designs are fantastic, the level design and atmosphere is amazing, and the gameplay is on point. With a mix of stealth, gunplay, traps and intense boss battles, this is a great game. An essential addition to any survival horror lovers repertoire!

I gotta admit,Laura never ceases to terrify me,like seriously crossing a giant spider, a human and with Samara Morgan's spine chillingly creepy face is sure to give many people nightmares for months and just the idea that she's able to move fast AND teleport is a whole other level of nightmares for people 😶
Gstar, have you ever thought about livestreaming? You're always engaging to listen to when explaining game concepts and of course, the rants are fantastic. I think livestreaming would be an easier way for you to get content out on the channel, whilst still maintaining quality.
Plus Twitch is more profitable if he's open to it
This could actually work out nicely considering he takes time mastering every game before making a video on it.
It's been brought to my attention before and I guess it would be easier to do, i.e. no editing for example. But I'm not sure how it all works, it's something I'd have to look into. Perhaps after I finish this walkthrough I will do some research into it.
All you need is an upload speed that isn't horrible and some software, such as OBS or XSplit. I'd recommend OBS, as it's the easiest to use.
Yea, I think the upload speed will be my downfall. On average my upload speed is 0.86Mbps. Faster internet is being rolled out here as we speak, so perhaps twitch will be viable once I get faster internet.

I haven't touched this game in years but from watching you play this game, I can definitely tell I played it like RE4, running around, making noise and wasting ammo. I never used the stealth option. I was taking tons of damage, I could never do this.

The thing about Laura in my opinion isn't so much how much damage you have to deliver to defeat her, it's the fact that she can phase shift. Seems like half the time I try to shoot her she rapidly shifts towards me and all I hit is air. On top of that if she gets next to you and lunges there's a good chance that will get Sebastian killed.
