I'm playing 9 holes at Royal Crest in Columbia Hills, Ohio. It's 3059 yards...
This might be the most relatable golf video I’ve ever seen.
Like a family guy joke...
John: "How you s'posed to get a tee in these boxes?"
Random guy from the gallery: "With a hammer!"
😂😂😂😂😂
I'm glad you are back to making golf videos. Out of all golf channels this is the one I actually look forward to watching
Don't beat up on yourself so much, you'll get there in your game. Golf Sidekick's Channel is absolutely amazing for helping with the mental part of the game. Get those putts rolling in and you'll drop those scores in no time at all
I’ve never seen a sprinkler head on a green! Omg how funny! Love you’re videos!
Great video. You putting it all together. Can’t wait to watch more. This was in my recommended videos and not disappointed.
New favorite golf channel. So relatable.
You are getting better John.....keep up the great work!
"Here comes the putter throw, OH NO! Hes Restrained himself! We could be looking at a new reserved Happy Gilmore."
I appreciate your efforts. I believe an all out positive attitude will serve your game better. Confidence is key and I believe a positive attitude is half that battle . The game is definitely 30% mental
Yay, another golf video from John! This was fun...especially with some of the great shots you hit!
I used to play Royal Crest when I lived in Strongsville....enjoyed seeing it again.
"We missed a put, shocking." I felt that so much
Love your commentary! I played with a guy your size who was walking on my putting line. His comment was, "I'm wearing soft spikes!"
Love the attitude.
Still waiting for the snow to melt in New York, while I wait I can just watch these.
great round John!
First time watching your videos. Proud of you man!
Great Videos John. My favorite golf channel. Bogey golfers need inspiration!
I love watching man! Love to see you getting out and making videos like I have always wanted to but was scared because of my handicap! You are an inspiration buddy!
I like your narration. It reminds me of my own thought process when I golf.
I loved when you said “New Year, Same old fat guy” in that other video! 😂
Mate, that draw on the 9th was awesome. You got a solid enough swing there and 90% of your shot have good, clean contact on the ball. No fat or thin shots.
Hey Johnny Boy, jealous that you are golfing already! I'm done with winter and ready to golf. Love the slo-mo putt miss, I was laughing.
John, my sons just introduced me to your channel. I really like your style and how candid you are in your videos. I also live in Northeast Ohio and am trying to better my game. You play better than I do and your videos are encouraging me. Now I want to play more when the weather warms up. Keep up the good work! And cheers from snowy Chardon.
Whoever the guy yelling is (me)- Must be fun to golf with!
"with a hammer" hahahaha
I Found a hammer on one of the tee boxes last month..lol
Glad your back!when you hit your driver, you come around way harder then your other clubs.put a tee (or anything to make a mark)in the ground a out 12-16 inches in line with the target.keep head down but also try to swing the club head over the marker(tee or whatever).that will take that pull hook out of your driver swing!(more solid hits too!] Give it a try, really works! Take it from hits those too sometimes!
Found your channel while surfing the net. Excellent skill with the clubs -_- We all have been there and there isnt anything you can do that most havent done already. Enjoy your vids sir......got yourself a new subscriber.
Hey John, the sprinkler head on the green is pretty rare but I believe you treat it just like any other Marked damage on the green, by moving the ball out of the way of the obstruction but no closer to the hole. So great job with your judgement! Putting is looking REALLY good, they just wouldn’t drop for you this time, and that’s just life. If you keep putting like that breaking 90 will be inbound.
You did good big guy! Keep working on it. Conditions seemed tough enough with the wind and lower temps this time of year. I'm just a 60 yr. old who has cabin fever and can't wait for golf to really kick in. So, I watch golf videos, and yours was excellent. It's a great game!
John when I 1st started playing off I was decent I got pretty good. I'm still the world's worst putter. One thing I noticed soon as I started taking lessons everything went to shit. one thing I did forget all the Instruction of the golf swing. learn the basic fundamentals of the golf swing and treat it like a task. Now I'm shooting in the low nineties like I said and the world's worst putter I average like 40 to 45 puts per round.
First ever video I've ever watched from you, and love the content. Quickest sub I ever made. Keep it up man!
3:10 bro tell the owner of this course to drop 150 on some new flags..that thing has 1987 written all over it
@Hope and Truth lol the flag was a bit tattered 😂
Looked like the flag that inspired Francis Scott Key to pen an anthiem about.
Happy your back doing golf vids man. Keep it up and hitting bombs.
Just found your channel and gotta say you’re super entertaining and very relatable. Keep on swinging!!
Ball speed has definitely improved. Weight loss seems to be helping. Putting is consistently closer than it used to be. Progress is obviously being made even if the score doesn't always reflect it yet.
My thoughts too! 🙏
Fat Guy Golf keep it going buddy it’ll get better and better the more weight you lose!
One tip for winter golf in Ohio you need the driving range tees you could buy them at Golf Galaxy either get the height you want or trim them down. A lot less headaches.
Nice video... this is how the average golfer plays... still has fun and lots of room to improve and get better... like anything in life.. takes practice
This was the first video I watched of your channel. Love it man!!! Keep it up. New subscriber
Keep it up brother, loving the new content! Hope you have a blessed day.
Your putting is amazing! If you check the PGA tour avearage for 10 footers, it's not too good. I love how much better you have become!
Your doing great brother, remember, we are not on the tour so we actually don't make all those. Just have fun and lose the weight. A bad day of golf is still better than a great day at work.
Hit some great putts that just lipped out. That's golf big guy
This is surprisingly enjoyable
Struck the ball well! Great video just a bit unlucky with those putts, they were close! Remember golf is a mental game as much as it is a skilful one
I am soooo glad I came across your channel!
The guys that tell u hit it straight then work on fade and draw .. FACT... please listen ! Worth it in the long run bro
No
@@FatGuyGolf 🤔🤯
The tee box’s are like my home course in Kentucky get used to it keep up the great content John
Dude the content coming out is awesome. Key with you is keeping it real. Also keep coming out with content quickly and you’ll be able to make a decent bid with youtube
John try a little chip and run with a 9 iron when you are closer to the green. All my chips used to end up short as it didn't roll out when i used my wedge switched to the 9 iron and they are landing and rolling closer to the hole. Fair play to you for getting out there you are doing great. ⛳⛳
Great job man! I commend you for all your effort recording and editing these videos
I love your voice over and you play like me especially your pulled drives. Nice video
The distance is better and it's still really cold. Once things warm up you could see more distance, and if you clean up the chipping...
Just remember it's a process
You will get there with both the weight loss and your game
Remember the good shots block out the bad
Love watching your videos, keep grinding 💜
Awesome content is been cool to see the progress!
Irish accent: "Well that could've gone in for the same price..." x5. Nice job, man. Keep playing. I'll see you on insta.
wow your driving is massive now bro...you will notice a lot of good changes to your game now!!
We’re close brother!
Nice round! Still early in the season. I’m itching to get out. Still snow on the ground in upstate ny where I am.
Bro I can relate to the putting woes!! Nothing bugs me more than when I'm on green in Reg, but I walk away with bogey or worse. Especially when I get up and down for bogey on a later hole!
John pull your left foot back just a little and place the ball a little more in the middle of your stance. I struggled with this same problem for a while. The way you're lining up is for a draw. Opening your stance and placing the ball back will allow your hands to clear before the club face closes. Love the content keep up the good work
Your left pull shot isn't that far off....ur just closing down the clubface. Open ur stance up a bit which makes it easier to swing down the line ....
Your lines are pretty good with your putting! I played yesterday too, hard to get consistent roll on greens in February. Keep it up!
Our tee boxes are hard like that. Little trick we do is use the spike from the tee marker itself to punch a hole and then just put your tee in that hole. Now if your course doesn't have tee markers that are spiked in the ground, this trick doesn't help. LOL
"Get sticky" "its nice..." trade mark this!!!!
You inspire me to get out there and take the game up again. I smashed the like button and subscribe button for ya.
Dude I think it's awesome what you're doing. I live in mid Michigan, if you're ever up this way, look me up, the round is on me.. Keep it up my man
Hey, John. I noticed the 1st drive. You were aimed pretty far right. Since you slice, try always aiming down the left side of the fairway. That's why you are hitting pulls and then sometimes slices.
Great vid as always. The fastest I dropped strokes was when I started walking. I'm not sure what it was but my game was so much better.
action figure more time between shots, I switched up to walking too I feel I play better it’s not rushed
Love your content up north brother 🇨🇦🤙
Played Sunday and had the same issue...couldn't sink a putt. My lone birdie came on a 65 yard pitch shot that almost went in the hole. I had two real long putts the first one I stubbed the putter and the second one I hit the top of the ball and popped it up in the air about a foot. Telling myself to relax it is February and haven't had the opportunity to go out and practice.
But love the progress and looking forward to what's to come I'm a big man as well I'm a 300lber but I'm 6'6
If you're missing iron shots to the right, you may need a steeper lie on your club. Too flat= miss right if you're aligned and square at impact. Just something to consider since you seem to be pulling the driver left. Also, think about a heavier putter. Most people use light putters and leave them short or miss left or right from off center hits (higher MOI=less twist).
What do you use for your shot tracer? It's a cool effect and seems to be consistent.
Hey John, what app do you use to show your ball tracking?
I live on 82 not far from the course. Love Royal Crest.
Some decent looking swings keep at it mate 👌
Was this Saturday 2/22/20? It was awesome out! (I'm in Columbus OH) Had trouble myself at a few boxes, it has been warm and cold, a lot more cold lately, gotta remember a lot of shaded spots especially, the ground is still frozen
Awesome video. Thank you.
You probably do this, but do you ever put the ball on the tee and push the ball to put the tee in the ground? This works for me.
Loyal Crust!! Had to be soaked out there!!
I feel the pain brother! Keep rop'n em
Very odd to see a sprinkler head on the green. You definitely do get relief from it, I'd say move it right or left of it. There may be a local rule on the scorecard for it. +12 isn't bad, that is what I shot yesterday on my first nine of the year.
did you not bring your tee hammer for the tee boxes?
Forgot it in my other golf bag!!!
3wd at 1:15 is a beauty. You should always set up open and try to cut it. It’s easy to clear with open stance.
I know this will sound crazy but it has really helped me especially with long putts, but I always think to myself don’t try and make it this works because I think we try to be too perfect and we overthink and then over putt it sometimes. Sounds weird but it really works for me .
Hey John, enjoyed the video and decided to subscribe. As Both a junior golfer and a skinny guy, yeah it makes clearing the hands a lot easier but shots like your pitch shots going left are more a matter of a closed club face. Anyways keep up the great work!
Thanks
What clubs do you hit? Seems to me like you’re not getting any pop out of em.
Real golf yay👍🏻
Fun fact..I'm fat, I'm a 30 handicapper, I always always go left,..oh!..& my name is also John!!
We gotta stick together bud..
You hit a TON of really good putts. Keep plugging away and they will start to drop....
Slow swing speed a tad with driver, try and shift hips forward a little more on driver tee off , turn left pinky counter clockwise, loosen right hand grip, squint and almost close right eye, hock a loogie after each tee off, hit each shoe with 2 taps after each fairway walk, bend your neck back and forth when the tension builds, belch before tee off and hold your preswing at the top awkwardly long while looking in the distance. So the first 5 pieces of advice are my honest very amateurush opinionmay based on what I could see, but All of this stoopid booshit after that should help with nothing, but thinking about how stupid this comment is when you're playing may loosen you up and keep you from overthinking your swing. You're welcome. Signed UA-cam non solicited advice giver.
To help get a tee in a hard tee box, spit on the ground and put your tee right in it. Or if that’s too gross u could always pour a little water on it.
What do you use to create your shot
Tracer?
Love the content! Keep it up
Hitting Bombs!!
Small screwdriver/awl works great on frozen ground
Your wedge shots are good
Watch Matt from golf sidekick. I think you could learn a lot from him. I feel like you choose wrong club selection on your 2nd shot a lot of the time and it’s getting you into trouble. Still enjoy watching though, just don’t be so hard on yourself
I love that guy’s channel
I keep an ice pick in my bag for when the ground is too hard to stick a tee in.
hey John, just wondering if your golf tracer app it called: Shot Tracer, is that right?
I believe so but I generally have to do it manually
@@FatGuyGolf cool, yeah got to do the same thing! We got a yt channel to, your so cool and have made me start one! It called G Rated Golf, and Instagram: @G_rated_golf, be awesome if you could have a look. No problem if you can't though. :)
