Miss your videos man. Hope you’re doing alright
Been watching for a very long time. Nothing but love here with this criticism. Don’t worry about cuts and drivers off the deck. You don’t have the shots in the bag, John. Advance the ball comfortably and you break 90 easy.
John, I was just headed out the door to hit some balls when, lo and behold, a video!!!
A nice treat. Love your commentary.
I went through all your shots and noticed that your right elbow keeps sticking out as you start taking your club back and as you bring it down on most of your shots. I used to do that alot and was inconsistent and short. One thing you should try to do is to consciously bury your right elbow to the side of your body on the take-away and follow through. This will force you to use your hip rotation to generate speed rather than your upper body. it will be impossible to keep it buried, but if you consciously make an effort, it will help your swing out a ton.
I went from driving the ball about 220, to 240+ and that was all I changed.
Keep those videos coming!!
Just came back from hitting balls in our school field with my boy. And who do I find with a new golf vid, John Baker! Right on, its Fridayyy.
Hey John, hope you’re doing okay. Haven’t seen you pop up in my notifications so I assume you’ve been busy. Anyway, thanks for all the great content and stuff . :)
Good job John, keep it up, it's coming soon, just remember that the only shot that counts is the one in front of you. Never worry about the next one...there's always plenty of time for that later. Stay committed to whatever type of shot you chose and learn to hit a putt with your PW-7 iron and those little shots around the green will be a lot easier for you. They'll come off the club in the air for a little bit and then roll out like a putt. You can practice those in your yard.
14 Definitely a birdie. 17 The monster hit out of the trees... that's what keeps us playing. Like an addiction to the good hits. I love watching you play because I play the exact same way 90 to 95. I finally Broke out and hit 82 three weeks ago. Keep it up!!
Great video John. Very fun to watch. Your putting is excellent.
Early in the season, you will break 90 multiple times this year- this is going to be a good year for you looking forward to more videos.
Please make more vids after covid. I just found your channel and binged all your vids in like 2 weeks and this is my new favorite channel as im a golfer too
Good to see someone play. Here on east texas out course is open. We are loving it
Definitely improving. Just gotta avoid the duffed shots. Easier said than done I know. Alot of positives to take away tho... 👍
Well I’m now depressed. I’ve been waiting for months for new videos. Yet I read down the comments and see that people said you quit? I truly hope not I love watching your videos they have helped me immensely.
Hey John, checking on you to make sure you're good. Definitely waiting patiently for your next video, I haven't swung a stick in 4 years but since I've been watching your progress, it has inspired me to play again.
You made a good run at it, John! Those greens look enormous. And quick.
Great job man! I’m in the same boat...breaking 90 is my goal this year...just have to make more puts!
Keep it up I'm working hard on the same goal. Can't wait to see my boy John Baker break 90.
I've been watching you for over a year now must getting better every time I watch
8:24 they should call you the lumber jack cause you are the BOSS from shots in the woods and around trees
Great video John, can’t wait to get back out golfing !
Anyone know where he’s gone?? Hope he’s ok
Love watching you get a good laugh
Hey man I like watching you play! Thanks for posting!
I'll be honest John, the putt out is my best friend and top purchase this offseason. Not sure if you have one but I highly recomended it
Always makes my day better when I see you have a new course vlog
John I got a suggestion for you that may help you out next time. On Hole 18 you had 280 yards left to the green. There is no way you are making the green with a 3-wood. And the 3-wood isn't the easiest club to hit. Next time hit a club that will get you to a distance you are confident in. So if instead of the 3-wood hit say your 6 or 7 iron 150 yards and you have 130 left to go. Give it a shot...I do this all the time if I have no chance of hitting the green with my 3-wood, better to hit my 5-wood, 7-wood, or 6 iron which I have more confidence in.
Generally the 3w is the club I have the most confidence in
3w wedge trumps 6i pw in my mind
Dude, that's for sissies. John, didn't come all the way out to freaking lay up!! That's boring golf.
I don't know how many Wolf games I've lost when I've hit a great drive and have 220 to green with a 3-wood over water. I've done it at least twice in the 20 or so times I"ve tried it. It's those 200 yard shots with a 3 wood over water that I remember, the others 18...bluuuhhhh.
Do you have a 7-wood in your bag? It would make a fine addition. I have a Jack Nicklaus Bearclaw from the 80's that I just love. I see it now on Ebay for ten dollars...highly recommended. You can't find these in stores anymore, everything is hybrids.
Love the commentary and the free hair haha 👌👌
Best I’ve seen you play. Keep it up.
I played Old MacDonald today in Bandon Dunes and was playing very well for me. I was on course to break 90 as well. However, I fell apart on the 15th hole and stopped keeping score after 16. Oh well one of these days. So I feel your pain lol.
You stay rocking my brother!
I’d love to play a round with u man. Ur keep it real. And u crack me up
Try chipping with a lower loft club like a PW or 9 iron around the greens so you get a good bump and run. 54 degrees and up makes chipping hard for us amateurs.
Just found your channel. I find your video refreshing. Nice to see someone normal playing the game. You will get better.
I audibly laughed when that putt kicked out. I would have counted that one as well lol
Greetings from Sweden John. Love Your videos. Keep on fighting. I´m convinced You will break 90. You have some really good shots, but need more consistancy in Your play.
Love your videos man. Keep it up
John with some course management you’ll smash 90 this year. You just have to start playing percentage shots especially from 100 yards in
Let’s go FGG. Love your vids! Keep them coming
Ok Big Guy, the doughnuts are there so we remember to not grab the flags..5:45..but I'm giving ya that one cuz it was a bird!! Nice ;)
@@FatGuyGolf John where u at???..why no more vids??..we're all wondering if or ok..give us an update video at least,we all miss ya bud!
Very interesting video bro I’m right in the same predicament with you I’ve shot an 89 one so I cannot repeat it I shoot consistently between 90 and 94 keep it up will get there buddy stay safe
You sorta summed it up yourself, John. Too many inconsistencies and poor ball striking. Those first putts need to get nearer to the hole as well. Keep at it, you'll get there someday.
Hitting a great drive and then tanking your second shot hit too close to home for me lol. Love the videos man keep them coming!
Where have you been sir?
First time I've witness a birdie from you...oh yea
You got this!
92 is a decent result big yin. As I've said previously, play simple shots in place of overly complicated ones and you'll drop 5 shots from that total
You’ll get there
Nicklaus said for guys trying to do what you are that you said play par 4s as 5s 5s as 6s 3s as 4s. You’ll eliminate the bigger numbers doing this. Obviously going to be holes where you don’t have to do this but on the tough holes it’ll minimize damage
Just come across this channel, pretty good content. Well done and best of luck with growth.
HH that 3wd at 3:07!
try your 9 iron when 10 yards off the green. let it role and watch the left to right
Or you could take a 64 degree and hit a nice lil flop right to the hole, or just learn how to actually use any wedge and hit stop your swing and actually swing through it so you dont chunk it..... my 60 and 64 degree are my best freinds, anytime I get into a bunker or have a chip shot I know I'm fine bc I'll be inside 7 feet 90%of the time
Who dislikes this guys videos?? Keep em coming big guy!
Quality! Keep up the good work
Do you ever try pitching and chipping with clubs other than a wedge? Just curious, maybe try some less lofted clubs and let them run out. Great channel and love the content.
John you have improved a ton but I notice you are still hitting your chip shots short. Try a less lofted club off the green and hit it the same and you should be a lot closer to the hole!
You straight up gave up on this. So many people offered to help...this channel has so many fans and so much potential too
Go golf in Virginia courses are open still there!
John I would love to have you out to valley of the eagles. I'm a huge fan and you need to play this course
You are getting better.
Dude, I haven’t watched a video in few years. You are looking good my man. Bearded now!
I don’t know HOW that birdie putt didn’t fall. You couldn’t have hit it better. I think it was the COVID cups.
Lets get some more vids out!! Keep em straight!!
Won’t be long and I will be typing I watched FGG before he was a scratch golfer.
If you guys enjoy this please check out our crazy crew of golfers!!
I just finished watching ALL your videos in one week. I'm a 20 something handicap. Going to start filming my golf journey now. Any tips, tricks, do's, don'ts?
Film cause you want to watch your game and see your mistakes
Use the film to get better
Not for subscribers
Haven't seen a video from you in a while! Looking good Baker
Where have u been
yeah new video!!!
Thanks john
hope all is well John!
John I’ve been practicing the short game in the backyard here in Michigan and I recently discovered something that has REALLY helped tighten up my backswing on chip and pitch shots. I’m hoping it continues to give me success. So what I’ve been doing is keeping my right elbow literally up against my side, breaking the elbow and wrist to control how far I go back. I found that I can let my left elbow fly a bit, in fact it seems to help to let it come away from my stomach. But the right elbow/tricep stays connected to my body, using my legs and hips to push through the ball. I’m no instructor, and I don’t know if it would be regarded as good advice, but damn has it controlled my short game and the consistency has been unmatched for me. It seems to prevent deceleration and I feel much more confident on each shot than ever before. By making sure I use the hips to push through, I don’t seem to get caught in the grass and have the wedge stop like I used to, even on very light/short shots when it really tends to happen. Great to see you out there man, I cannot wait to play again!
Looking good boss keep it up
Missing the Baker Brawn videos tbh. They really motivated me
Miss the videos John - hope you're doing alright!
LOL. at 2:04 You said 'I left a lot of meat on this potato'!.
We use 'a lot of meat on that bone'...I'm assuming that's what you meant?
we miss you john
Why are all the flag sticks so short? Glad that your courses are still open. Jersey all still closed. Go vid as usual.
No birdie goes unpunished
I thought you were gonna post my last tee shot😭😥😢
I messed up and deleted the old videos after I trimmed down my shots
Sorry Ben
Watching while 🌳 best
Bro make more videos you’re awesome
The game is looking very good, it will not be long before you are shooting 80's on a regular bases. Question are you using a personal camera person while you are playing? I'm starting to film my rounds but I find it hard to do without a dedicated camera person.
Good luck, before I watch it.
Great effort John! Even though you didn't break it, you had some really good shots and putts out there. It's coming together!!
Hey, would you ever be interested in challenging some of your subscribers? Would be cool to see you compete against other big guys!
please do more content. we miss it¨
You ever get back to WV message me. It would be awesome to go a round of golf with ya. You ever play Bel Meadows in Clarksburg?
What the hell Jon....where have you been...everything okay wth the big guy...we need fat guy golf
Always love the videos john. I just started my yt channel and am a fellow fat guy at 6 foot 4. 375 lbs.. we will have to get together in the future!
don't stop posting.. its been too long. commentary is great
I see a 90 very soon!
What happened ? He just gone
ah so close. what shot tracer do you use?
Complaining about his hair. Dude I got Rory mcllroy hair factor that with covid19 haircut. Just like my friend when he gets a birdy next hole guaranteed double or more and at least 1 lost ball
Bought on 1? With a 6v?
Fan question.....how long have you been playing? The reason I ask, I am trying to learn and have never broke 50. You seem to do it consistantly.
Where did ya go buddy, 2 months since last video?
Shame. Really enjoyed this channel. Wish John would check in with an update.
He just did
