    First heard of them in the movie Streets Of Fire in the early 80s still listening to them now ,amazingly this group has been so underrated 🔥

    Saw them at the Hollywood Palladium, a search tells me it was Aug 6, 1982. Funny, wasn't too familiar with them, went to see the Beat Farmers!

    Nice to see Gene Taylor, fellow Canadian, in this lineup. Dave's fills are great.

      I'm quite sure that Gene was American, born in Norwalk, California. He was a helluva pianist, so much fun seeing and hearing him live.

      Nope, bit written about Wokfmsn Jack, who lived many years after this was written. Just a tribute to all the border blaster stations and the great music they beamed all the way to Canada, by my Downey brother Dave Alvin

      Stages in Chicago. Now it's called "Metro". You can search "Blasters Willie Dixon" for the complete concert with Willie Dixon.

    A travesty of the song.

    • @kayakesq
      @kayakesq 7 років тому +5

      This song is strong enough to be "downey rockabilly" or accoustic ballad. Love them all. ( BTW this was the pretty close to the original released version I think). So, NOT a travesty but great. YOU boat just are too limited to enjoy it, which is your right but don't throw stones at artists, including the author and his brother.

      This is a song written in tribute to Wolfman Jack, the man who is gone and used to broadcast from XERB

      Given the original version, this is neither false nor distorted.
